Great house, great location not too far from Kona, everything was clean !
Great Stay for Our Family in Kona!We had a wonderful time staying here as a family of five with teenage kids. The house was a perfect fit for our needs and in a great location for exploring the Kona coast. Check-in was easy, the home was very clean, everyone had their own bed, and the open living and kitchen area was great for relaxing together. The neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. Some of our favorite activities nearby included the Royal Kona Luau, exploring the Ali’i Marketplace (just a couple blocks away), snorkeling with manta rays, walking through historic downtown Kona, visiting nearby beaches, and grabbing a bite at Kona Brewing Company.A few tips for future guests: while the house is only a couple miles from downtown and several nice beaches, it’s best to drive unless you have bikes or are comfortable walking along busy roads. We usually enjoy walking around towns we visit, but the house sits just outside the main pedestrian areas. The good news is that free parking is generally available along streets and near most beaches. Downtown parking can be trickier—look for restaurants that validate (and check which lot they validate for ahead of time), otherwise expect to pay around 25–50 depending on location and time of day.Overall, this was a great home base for our Kona adventures, and we’d happily stay again!
House worked great for our family of 6. We were able to walk to a beach to watch the sunset every evening. But the walkable areas were not great for playing in the oceans. It was a short drive to magic sands and other swimming areas. Kitchen was stocked with all the things we needed to cook most meals at home. Comfy and clean.
Excellent rental for our family. We arrived after sunset so the house was dark. However the check-in instructions have the directions to the house; just don’t skip reading them! Kitchen was well equipped; the only thing we would add are baking sheets and maybe some more airtight food storage containers. The living area was very comfortable and inviting. We enjoyed coffee and card games on the lanai. Bedrooms and bathrooms were good sized, plenary of closet and drawer space. The AC was helpful for sleeping. This house is in a quiet residential area about 2.5 miles south of downtown Kona. You can walk to a secluded “beach” from the house, but it’s not for swimming. Swimming/snorkeling beaches are not far by car. If you walk or run, Ali’i drive is a block away and usually packed with pedestrians. First Island Realty was responsive to all our concerns. Mahalo nui!
This property was the perfect home base for our Big Island adventures! We especially enjoyed coffee each morning while sitting out on the front porch watching birds, geckos and the occasional neighborhood cat play amongst the plumeria and hibiscus. The yard is small but faces a private, gated drive and there is there is ample patio furniture.
This was a nice place to stay for our family of 4 (2 being teenagers). Everyone had space and AC units in their rooms. The property had nice places to sit outside and the furniture and beds were comfortable. Kitchen had what we needed to do the simple cooking we did. Plenty of beach towels in one of the bedroom closets. The place is located within a little neighborhood and there is little space around the house, that is my only negative, but that is also just the area. Overall it was a great place to stay!
Well maintained, nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable- air conditioning worked great which was a much needed break from the heat.
We had a very nice stay in this property. It was very clean and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and we appreciated the AC in every room. The location is wonderful with a short walk to a beach for a lovely sunset. Communication was great! We had a slight hiccup checking in but the hosts were very responsive and had the issue resolved very quickly! We would definitely stay here again!
The good: Quiet, close-in proximity to downtown Kona and beach areas. Somewhat walkable if you want to brave walking along a busy road. Property manager was very responsive and quick acting Lovely sitting area outside the living area Great BBQ setup. The not so good: Nothing terrible about this place, but it needs some stepping up and the manager needs to spend some there to think about how 4-6 people using 3 bedrooms will use the place and furnish it accordingly. Having only 4 forks and 4 glasses in the kitchen cabinets is not ample. We were constantly washing dishes. The pillows felt like they were 20 years old. The good thing was that we told the manager they were unusable so they brought new ones over right away (that was good). That’s good but the place shouldn’t get to that point. No bathmats in the bathrooms. Washer soap and dryer sheets were used up in one wash load so we had to request more. Same for toilet paper. The furniture could use a deep clean.
Plenty of space for our family of five. Loved the binder with descriptions of all the local beaches. Beach supplies were a great perk. Great to be able to do laundry.
Spacious 3-bedroom for family of 6. Nice outdoor seating in a gated community. Close to beaches and downtown.
Comfortable home in a gated community. The manager was quick to respond during our stay when the AC wasn't working.
The house was in a great location, near restaurants, beaches and the airport. Comfortable living space and mattresses. Quiet, nice neighborhood. Loved the outdoor patios too!
