Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we could need. The host was very communicative prior and throughout the stay with recommendations. She even came upon our arrival to make sure we settled in and offered some tips. Our 23 month old loved the whole property and even got to see a few goats from the neighbors. This upcountry location was perfect for our stay - beautiful location to see stars and sunset, peaceful and remote yet just a quick drive to lots of activities. Wish we could stay longer. Mahalo nui loa!

Char is a wonderful host. The house is fabulous. It is fully furnished and equipped and it is in a great location.

Beautiful home with fantastic master bedroom suite, dining room walls of sliding glass doors, very peaceful setting, surrounded by flowers and lemon, fig, avocado trees. Owner was very friendly and helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Spent 2 nights in mid August at this home on a working farm.Lovely sunsets from the outdoor seating area. Fifty minute drive to sunrise ridge of Haleakala. Homeowner (Char) and son (Crispin) very communicative. We would absolutely stay here again. However, we would request the individual bedroom air conditioners be turned on before our arrival. Took hours to cool house even adding floor & ceiling fans and window cross ventilation.

This property is such a cozy place to dial in the views and tranquility! The location is ideal for summit and upcountry places, while being easily accessed from airport. Everything is well-stocked and clean. I appreciate the thoughtful details--from lap blankets, to beach chairs, to modern conveniences, to the warm welcome of the host. I will forever cherish the memories we made here.

This villa is beautiful and we highly recommend. Charlene and Celestine were exceptional hosts. Gave us tons of information on places to dine and things to do. The neighborhood is quiet, the property is actually a working farm. It was lovely for a quiet place to rest, but reasonably close to the airport. We all enjoyed staying there and would do it again.

I have Been coming out here for yrs, and My family and my self for the past 3 yrs out for are family vacation and we love this place!!! The best ABB we have stayed at!! Amazing view every morning, very peaceful atmosphere and overall beautiful and amazing home, very clean and roomy place feels like home most definitely looking to book for next yr July 2026!

Luxury without all the people around

We (four adult friends) had a great, relaxing stay at this home. It's upcountry, which means it's a 20-30 minute drive at least to most attractions, but the tradeoff is a beautiful view and a quiet space to come home to. (You're also much closer to Haleakala than staying in the more populated areas.) The house itself had everything we needed and was really comfortable - lots of outdoor space, equipped kitchen, space is as advertised. Crispin was really communicative and helpful, and being able to borrow beach gear from the house was a great bonus. We'd definitely stay again!

The property is very tranquil and in a quiet location with beautiful temps, especially in the evening and amazing views. The property is well stocked with everything you can ask for, including family entertainment such as board games, etc. - a home away from home! Crispin met us upon our arrival and went over the property - he was very informative and accommodating during our stay. Will definitely return Mahalo for everything

This location is absolutely perfect to reach every activity on Maui. Very spacious and the beds are super comfortable. The view is beyond words. More provisions than you can use. The owners are full of valuable information to make your vacation perfect. The Kula Bistro is less than 2 miles, and serves breakfast and dinner.

The villa was spacious and provided great view from each room. We really enjoyed our stay. Well equipped. The host was really nice and friendly. We definitely want to come back again!

The home itself is a sanctuary and was hard to leave daily as we went out and explored the island but always looked forward to it in the evening. The mornings were equally amazing. Host was easy to get in touch with and answered questions quickly. Will definitely seek it out again when we return

Char's home in Kula was exactly what me and my family were looking for to holiday in Maui (from Oahu). We love the remote and spacious feeling of the upcountry, the expansive views, the clear night skies, and the cross breezes. The house is beautifully laid out for both privacy and for coming together, especially in many outdoor areas. We also loved all of the books and games the house had to offer. There is ample furniture everywhere to enjoy the property, the views, and the birds singing. Char was such a kind host, offering fruit from the property, and firewood for the pit outside. The kitchen is fully stocked, unlike many bnb rentals nowadays. We were able to grill and cook with no issue. The location was a great jumping off point for Haleakala and Road to Hana. We actually wish we had more time to spend at home! Hope to visit again, sometime soon. Mahalo!

Had a great stay at the villa. Char met us at the driveway to familiarize us w the property. Private and relaxing with everything that you would need for house and the beach. Scenic views from every spot in the house. The bath house - best place to shower any time of day! Loved that there were cards and board games to play. Close to any activity or destination on the island. Thanks for a great adventure and lifelong memories.

The home was exactly as advertised with breathtaking views and close access to many of our desired excursions while in Maui. The host was very accommodating and we sincerely appreciated his time to familiarize us with the property. The host also provided everything anyone could need such as coolers, beach chairs, bug spray, and first-aid kit. Our family enjoyed the well-equipped kitchen as after our exhausting excursions, a home-cooked meal and the sunset view was the perfect end to our day. I felt privileged to have the opportunity to stay in this home that truthfully merits more than five stars!

Peaceful unobstructed view of Haleakala Lanai and Moloka’i beyond Kahalawai

We rented this property for a family vacation and everything here was as advertised. The hosts were amazing and informative. The property is centrally located on Maui and it’s not far of a drive to get to all the beautiful stops around the island. Come home and enjoy luxury, relax and watch the sunset from the lanai, then gaze at the stars. The only thing I regret is not spending more time there to have a couple of relaxed days. There is much to see on the island and days were bus. Hands down this is my favorite rental I’ve stayed at!!! 10 GOLD STARS

This property has stunning views and a beautiful design layout. We rented it as the bride and groom getaway and honeymoon stay during their wedding week versus a busy impersonal hotel suite. The wedding photographer and videograpers were enthralled with the picturesque opportunities presented by the homes layout. (No events are allowed at this location, this is just where the bridal party converged for preparation pictures). The property hosts were always quick to respond to questions and were there to welcome us upon arrival. Very nice touch. I strongly recommend this as a quiet, upscale home away from home.

Booked this place for 5 nights with my partner to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and my niece visited us from her home on the Big Island with her partner for 3 of the nights. All 4 of us were very pleased with the house. The view from the front lanai of the West Maui Mountains with ocean on both sides is amazing, especially around sunset. The house can get a bit hot in the hours leading up to sunset due to the way the sun shines in, but there are big screen doors to the front and back lanais which line up to get a good cross-breeze going. The master bedroom has the same great view, with the bonus of having its own AC unit (all 3 bedrooms have one) if needed. Plenty of space, and I don't think it would have felt crowded even if there were 6 of us. The back lanai is great for grilling, with a large table and a professional grade gas grill, and the 2 large lanais essentially give you 2 extra rooms to spread out. Also off the back lanai is the outdoor bathroom, great for showers with a view. (Including the outdoor bathroom, there are 4 showers and 3 toilets on the property, so there was no jockeying for bathroom time.) The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped for a rental house. We had everything we needed and more for cooking. The place was clean, well maintained, nicely furnished, and in a good location for exploring Upcountry and beyond. I would stay here again in a heartbeat and have no qualms recommending it to strangers or friends.

It was lovely to find a house instead of having to stay in one of those golf course condos or "resorts." Kula is not a tourist town but is a good central location from which to explore the island. If you want to be in the middle of the tourist experience, do not stay here. If you want to be able to dip your toe in, but then retreat to a calm, quiet neighborhood, this is the place. There are nearby activities such as para-gliding, "road to Hana," farms, restaurants, etc. Paia, the nearest largish tourist town, is great. Only 20 minutes away. A smaller tourist town is even closer. The house has some minor wear and tear but was very comfortable and spacious. The patio view is top notch. We had a great experience.

Very nice property, they had all the extras that we loved. Zip lock bags for snacks for grandson, spices for nice dinners, even lotion for when we ran out. Best for hubby was cold tablet and lozengers when he felt sick last day.

After so many stays in the lowlands, it was so refreshing to stay up-mountain with the cool afternoon breezes, expansive views and peace and quiet. (Occasional rooster but disturbing in any way). The home is big, beautiful and so stylishly decorated. The bedrooms are big with tons of closet space and super comfortable beds. There is air conditioning throughout as well. The host was super responsive and helpful with tips on local markets and activities. The home is also equipped with tons of beach chairs, umbrellas, etc. In short, it was the perfect stay and we'll definitely be back!

We felt at home in this beautiful mountain house. I am so glad we stayed here. Peaceful sunset nights meant for stargazing and breathtaking mountain sunrises. Perfect location for a drive up to Haleakalā, the Road to Hana, and the beaches. Nothing is overlooked in this home. Char and Crispin took good care of us. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience at the Island Sunset Villa. The gorgeous property has ample space and many outdoor areas to enjoy the view. You can see the mountains, the ocean, and so much green space from each lanai! The bedrooms were roomy, the kitchen was well-equipped, and there was plenty of outdoor space. Having a washer and dryer made packing light possible. I loved showering from the master bath and seeing the beautiful views—I had never experienced anything like that before. The villa featured all the amenities, including board games and books. But honestly, we just enjoyed Maui and the views the most. Never even turned on the TV! Even the drive to the villa, through the neighborhood, was beautiful. One aspect that stood out besides the beauty was the attentive owners. Char and Crispin were responsive to emails before our arrival. Crispin was available by text during our stay and provided a fanatic tour of the villa upon arrival. He offered great recommendations about places to visit (Ocean Vodka, multiple beaches, and small towns) and places to eat (Maui Slice, Kula Bistro, and others). I will return to Maui and look at renting the Island Sunset Villa again! Just a dream vacation all around :)

You know some properties appear much larger in the pictures than you find when you check in? Not this one. Spacious, with sliding glass doors that can open up the house to the courtyard. Lovely upcountry property well-equipped for visits to the beach (Kihei is 30 minutes away). Kula is where you want to be if Haleakala is on your list. The sun rising over the mountain starts your day and sinking into the sea near Lanai ends it. Perfect.

Beautifully situated. Though in a neighborhood, you feel as if you have no neighbors. Our host, Crispin, was attentive and welcoming. It was perfect and so relaxing after a day of sightseeing to come back and prepare a meal or just lounge

Immaculate and absolutely neat, tidy, and organized. This property is a perfect reflection of it's owners/managers. My family and I felt completely at home here and it was the perfect place to recover and restore ourselves at the end of each day spent exploring Maui. It's a 15-25 min drive "out of the way" to get to and from the house...but that's exactly what we wanted! What more can I say...we would absolutely stay here next time we're in Maui for sure. Loved it.

A beautiful, spacious, relaxing home with completely outfitted kitchen and super comfortable beds. Located away from it all, but you are not far from the ocean or the mountains. Views of the ocean to the west and north! The hosts are very friendly and eager to make your stay as perfect as they can. Awesome place!!

Most wonderful stay!!!

We stayed in the villa with some friends for our wedding, the property is gorgeous with many fruit trees and flowering plants to look at. The sunset bedroom itself has excellent views of the bay down towards Kihei and the weather up in Kula is excellent averaging 10 degrees cooler than down at the beach. Would happily stay again!

Some friends and I decided to island hop over to Maui for a few days and stayed here for our trip. The views in Kula are my fav views in Maui so it was so special to be staying up here. Being able to see a beautiful sunrise, sunset and even stargaze. Even though it’s further away from beaches and whatnot, nothing will beat the crisp Kula air. Char made booking & checking in/out so seamless. The space was nice and clean upon arrival. The house was also easy to find on the drive up at night. It’s a nice quiet area as well. Really great place for bigger groups traveling together as there’s beds and bathrooms to accommodate everyone! Will definitely be keeping this place in mind for future Maui trips. And would highly recommend others to stay here too!

It's a beautiful house morning/evening, quiet, very clean, beautiful views and located in an area that made it convenient to access many parts of the island. Host was also pleasant and helpful. We loved our stay at this property. Listening to the birds every morning and just getting out of the city was amazing. I can’t overstate enough how beautiful the view is in the morning from the master bedroom, and again in the evening with the sunset over the ocean. This is a truly magical spot
