From the moment we booked, Fabia and Gregg went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Before our trip even began, they shared wonderful recommendations for excursions, restaurants, and hidden gems, along with thoughtful feedback on our plans. Every suggestion was spot on!After a long day of travel, we opened the door and were greeted by soft Hawaiian music flowing through the home. The air smelled faintly of plumeria, and the atmosphere was warm, peaceful, and joyfully welcoming, instantly setting the tone for our month ahead. The home itself was even more stunning than the photos, a perfect blend of luxury, serenity, and island charm, surrounded by lush landscaping and ocean breezes. We were amazed by how organized and well-stocked everything was. No matter what we needed- from kitchen tools to pool toys, it was there! Every detail made it feel less like a rental and more like our home in paradise.Though we loved exploring the island, some of our favorite moments were spent right here, swimming in the pool, playing friendly (and sometimes heated!) ping-pong games, soaking in the hot tub, and watching unforgettable sunsets that painted the sky in gold, coral, and pink. The House of Singing Whales truly lives up to its name — peaceful, inspiring, and unforgettable. We left with full hearts, beautiful memories, and deep gratitude. Mahalo, Fabia and Gregg, for sharing your piece of paradise with our family!

The photos of this place are amazing, and they cannot even begin to do it justice. The home has 270degree views from the lanai of Kohalo, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa, Hualalai (all the mountains) and an absolutely gorgeous view of the Kohalo and Kona coastline. Sunsets are absolutely phenomenal. We spent every evening and many days out there. And it's the first thing you see when you wake up and open the blinds. The home is beautifully furnished (and to theme, lots of whales everywhere!) with everything you could ask for--snorkel and beach gear is in abundance. It is very well stocked, particularly for extended stays (30+days) as required by state law. The hosts (Fabia and Gregg) were clear communicators, delivered more than expected, repeatedly went above and beyond to replace/fix minor things that were missing (i.e. handles for the exercise machine that had gotten misplaced), and clearly know the home as their own. Warm and welcoming, they deeply share their lovely home with their guests and are very familiar with the surrounding island. Jessica, the property manager, was incredibly responsive and embodied Aloha spirit. We made some incredible memories at the House of the Singing Whales and can't wait to return. Mahalo nui for having us!

We had a perfect time at the House of the Singing Whales. Fabia and Gregg are amazing owners that deeply cared about making our stay enjoyable from the beginning to the very end. They have raised the bar in terms of what excellence looks like and made us feel like extended family. The view is incredibly unique due to the location and how the home is situated, allowing you to see 4 out of 5 volcanoes. The weather in this area of Kohala is more predictable, and sunny, than any other part of the Island. Coming back from a long day of exploring, staring out at that view, hopping into the pool or hot tub, with the smell of Plumeria in the air, birds singing, and listening to music on the built-in speakers on the lanai equalled bliss. The home was spotless. It is also completely stocked to meet your needs in the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry room and pool. The extra fridge in the garage allowed us to stock up at Costco so we could minimize the number of trips (grab a cooler from the garage with ice packs to store frozen items for the drive back). The pool, hot tub, and garden is tended weekly and a handyman will fix anything if necessary. The beds and beddings are comfortable, the automatic blackout blinds are a nice feature, and the bathtub is terrific. Having central air conditioning throughout allows you to escape and recover from the heat when required. If you're thinking of an extended stay on the Big Island I can't recommend this home more. We can't wait to get back!

The pictures of the house on Vrbo are good but the actual house is amazing. The views, the pool, the bedrooms and all the amenities just make this house one of the best we have stayed in on the Kohala coast. Thanks again to the owners who are amazing and look forward to staying again when we return to the Big Island. Mahalo, Aloha.

Our vacation was absolutely magical at the House of the Singing Whales. Lovely decor, very clean, comfortable beds, and everything you need in the kitchen. Plenty of cozy beach and bath towels, snorkel gear and even yoga mats. We loved the beautiful view, sun rises and sun sets, and plumerias. Our favorite things were swimming and floating in the pool and relaxing on the lanai listening to music. We loved snorkeling at Kukio Beach and Poke bowls at Da Fish House and we took the big blue guest book with us so we didn’t miss anything. Greg and Fabia were wonderful to work with. Hope to return in the future.

We loved staying at this property for a month. We started to call it home. The lanai, pool and view were amazing! The master bedroom, in particular has an amazing view and is enjoyable to watch the sunrise. The property was filled with all your beach and pool equipment. The property owners and manager were always very prompt with our questions.

Great place in great location. Having stayed in the area before, I know it's just in the best location on Big Island. Near Hawaii's best beach - Hapuna - great towns like Waimea and Hawi - and not a long drive into Kona - we love it here. The pool is a nice addition, I wish we would have more space around it to lie in the sun. Nicely appointed - the owners thought of everything.

After 2020 the idea of a month in Hawaii seemed like a terrific idea, and the House of Singing Whales was just the place. We loved the views of the sunrise coming up between the volcanoes, the dolphins cavorting in the water below, and the sunsets we enjoyed every night we were there. The kitchen and grill setup was super functional: we only went out for dinner the night before we left. The property manager was very helpful in resolving any questions we had. Particularly enjoyed the pool since it is set up as a lap pool, so was able to get regular exercise while we were there. The proximity to the farm stand and Da Fish Shack in Kawaihae was great, as was the ease of getting to Hapuna Beach, which we go back to every year.

Everything was as portrayed on the VRBO site. The owners are very thorough, helpful and responsive. I’ve stayed at many VRBO properties but it is clear the owners here have taken extra care to provide information and amenities to maximize the experience and comfort of guests. In one sentence, the owners are great. The house is extremely well decorated, accessorized and maintained. And the layout is very well thought out to take advantage of the outstanding views from every room. This is a beautiful house.

Our stay was everything we had hoped for and more. Beautiful home with stylish decor. Beds and furniture so comfortable. Immaculately clean and everything so organized to locate well stocked kitchen items. Extremely well stocked gear to borrow for snorkeling and beach. Short drive to lovely snorkeling areas and beautiful beaches. Gorgeous pool with spacious lanai for relaxing or eating dinner outside. Vast ocean views that you never get tired of looking at. Very clear and easy communication with owners at time of booking and accessible, prompt, and warm welcome and communication with manager. Great Wifi as we had to make this a work/ vacation also. My husband, myself, and our teen daughter had a wonderful experience. So much space and privacy that we could not get if we had rented a condo. Just what we needed to recharge and unwind after not being able to travel for so long! Thank you House of Singing Whales!

Beautiful home with stunning view of the Hawaiian coast! Great location between Kona and Hawi and Waimea. House is clean and very well stocked with anything you need to make meals. If you prefer to walk into town, etc this may not be the property for you, but if you are looking to relax and be in a location closer to several areas of interest, then I highly recommend!
