HILO'S BEACHES & SURFRIDER BEACH HOMES:
Houses front best swimming, and snorkeling beach on the Big Island of Hawaii. For larger groups we rent both homes together. Please inquire and I'll respond immediately if both homes are available. This listing and price is for BOTH homes.
Beaches house is the main house and is 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. For more information and plenty of pictures, view the individual site at VRBO Listing #3948511. On the same lot next to this house is the Surfrider house. Two bedrooms and 2 baths with the lower level being a large bedroom with two queen beds and bath. Separate entry to lower level. The highlight of this location is Richardson's Beach Park. One of only a few places one can safely enter the ocean in the Hilo area. Perhaps the best snorkeling you will ever find. Protected swimming and snorkeling areas with lifeguards on the South side of Hilo Bay. One of 6 stops for the "Hop on Hop off" bus. It's a tourist destination. Home to many Green Sea turtles. Across the street are small black sand beaches. Downtown Hilo is just 3.5 miles down the ocean road. Road ends just 100 yards farther.
The living rooms, kitchens, dining areas, and master bedrooms have unobstructed ocean views.. Homes can be rented together for larger families or groups traveling together Both homes are located in the town of Hilo, just 5 miles from the airport.

Our Houses are close to Hilo Farmer's Market, restaurants, shopping, waterfalls, Volcano National Park, an active volcano.
Houses are equipped with boogie boards and beach equipment, DVD players, and high speed cable internet access (WiFi). These properties boast a large number of returning guests each year.

According to Hawaii Vacation Rental ordinances, all vacation renters agree to the following if this property is booked:
1. Quiet hours shall be from 9:00 PM to 8:00 AM during which time the noise from the short term vacation rental shall not unreasonable disturb adjacent neighbors.
2. Sound that is audible beyond the property boundaries during non-quiet hours shall not be more excessive than would be otherwise associated with a residential area.
3. Guest vehicles shall be parked within the designated onsite parking area.
4. Failure to comply with the Good Neighbor policy states above will be construed to be a violation.
5. No commercial events shall take place at the property.

The location is absolutely perfect. We were able to watch surfers in the morning and evening from our balcony just across the road from Richardson beach park. Beach access was easy as we only had to walk across the street. Home was well equipped with plenty of snorkel gear, water booties and boogie boards. The home also seemed to be centrally located to other attractions such as Wailua valley overlook and Volcanoes NP. We definitely enjoyed the more laid back feel of Hilo to the crowded, touristy vibe of Kona.
Having two houses right together fit our size group (8 adults and three kids), and would have allowed several more people if we had needed.The location was perfect. The lovely rocky beach was just across the street and our group went kayaking, snorkeling or watching turtles every day. The house - particularly the kitchen, was furnished very well. When we needed something else it was delivered that day. There were enough towels for everyone. If I were to improve anything it would be the access between houses since we were going back and forth all the time.\All in all, we would go back again.
We were there to run the Big Island International Marathon. For me it was completing running a marathon in all 50 states. We had a big group that wanted to come along for the occasion so we needed a space large enough for 13 of us. The houses were a perfect fit for our group. The easy walk across the street to the beach and short drive to downtown Hilo gave us the best of both worlds. We enjoyed our times just sitting on the porch and enjoying everyone’s company. Would def recommend to a large group looking for a good loocation in Hilo!
We loved it and it perfectly accommodated our family of 13 as we came over from Kaua'i to celebrate my 80th Birthday !
Snorkeling out front is world class and volcano eruption and founnhy
We stayed for a few days in Hilo before heading over to the Kona area. We wanted to experience the volcano, black sand beaches, and snorkeling in the Hilo side. It was an excellent home for a larger group (8) and had all the amenities we needed. Lots of beach toys and snorkel gear. We walked over to the Richardsons Park for snorkeling and exploring multiple time. Of note, the houses, overall are dated. For the location and overall experience, we would recommend the home to others and would stay there again if in the area. The host sent over great info and ideas for the area. Our little girls loved the cats in the area. Coconut Grill was a great restaurant for our family.
Location was great. Perfect fit for our family group of 12! Well stocked with kitchen necessities. Appreciated the washer and dryers.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the two houses. There were 9 of us (6 adults and 3 children ages 7, 5 and 4). It was nice to spread out comfortably. It was great to be so close to the beach and the ocean views were spectacular. We also appreciated all the easy access to beach equipment (snorkels, water shoes, paddle boards, boogie boards, sand toys, etc.) We had a great time in Hilo and so lucked out with great weather! Thanks!
This property was located right across the street from Richardson's Beach. It was heavenly listening to the waves crash all day and night. We had plenty of room for our family of 11.
