The room itself is traditional in style. Was clean. We enjoyed sitting outside. Our host is very responsive. Max 10 minute walk to beautiful Lanikai beach. Bus 167 convenient to go to town and back.

All the i's were dotted, and all the t's crossed. I have never encountered a rental as well provisioned as mine at Hidden Hideaway. Janice, the host, has thought of everything, including appointments like a cedar lined closet.

Great accommodations with a beautiful location just a short walk to the beach. Our host, Janice, was wonderful in every way. She gave us restaurant and sightseeing reservations and was great. We will stay here again on our next trip to Oahu.

Bathroom and kitchen could have been a bit cleaner upon check in. With a week long stay, a refresh of towels and linens would have been nice. Parking, check in, amenities and location were top notch.

The location in a neighborhood was great. It was quiet and peaceful. It’s an older place, dated but with a lot of nice attention to detail. One beach was just a walk away, and the other a 10 minute drive. Both were not crowded. We liked that restaurants and shops weren’t too far away in Kailua, since there was only a microwave at the VRBO.It was 30-60 minutes to go into Honolulu, depending on traffic.

It had a great location close to beach. It was on a quiet street. Host was very gracious with the treats and breakfasts provided. It was nice, like staying at grandma’s house. Older decor, but clean and comfortable.

We loved staying there. Everything that you could imagine was available and many extras were included. Janice was always available and accomodating. The beach is farther away than we expected, although if you got out early, there was plenty of parking for beautiful beaches.

We wanted a quiet area in Oahu, away from the crowds of Waikiki. The Lanikai/Kailua area was a great place to stay that wasn’t too far away from Honolulu when we had activities there. This studio is in a quiet residential neighborhood. The studio itself is a bit dated, but it’s a quaint place. Janice, the homeowner, personalized some nice details, which was really nice. Breakfast baked goods, fruit, and snacks lasted us for most of the week. It was an enjoyable stay on Oahu.

Quiet property, well appointed room with snacks and breakfast items. Extras for beach or picnics or hiking like beach chairs and small cooler. Easy walk to beach access. Easy checkin/checkout. Read the host instructions about parking!

We were here for one week for work in Kailua, so the location worked well for us. The host leaves a very generous basket of food and snacks upon arrival. All amenities such as towels, bedding, accessories to use at the beach, shampoo, coffee, extra toilet paper and tissues- all extremely well supplied. I feel the room needs a refresh- even fresh bed linens and new pillows would go a long way. Same with the shower curtain- it's all rusted up where the hooks are- considering the amount charged for the studio and the cost of a new shower curtain, it seems like it could be do-able to refresh the curtain every few months. Grounds are beautiful- Lanikai/Kailua are stunning- just know it's a drive to anywhere else on islandA few cons for us; we had a LOT of luggage as we carry a portable office in suitcases wherever we travel- you WILL have to navigate X amount of stairs. The path to the stairs is beautiful, but rocky and uneven- I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who isn't sure-footed or is shaky on their feet. Also- I feel it should be noted in the listed that parking is a bit of a challenge. there IS a nice carport that is for guests to use- however if you have anything larger than a compact size, it's near impossible to fit two cars in at the same time. You are encouraged to not park in the driveway, so it made it hard when another mini-van was in the carport and I could not park our car. We did park way off to the side of the driveway for a few hours but I felt badly.

I was convinced by the previous reviews and ratings that this place would be great. Unfortunately, it is now a bait and switch. They will assign you whatever room they want to each guest. And given the cancelation policy, you will be stuck with it. A two room suite with hot tub is the same cost as the studios, and guests have no control over which room they are assigned. Also, there is no breakfast. You will not be greeted by anyone, just given different phone numbers of people to contact if you need anything. It's not a bed and breakfast at all.

A great stay, beautiful location and reasonable price. It was quiet and private. The owner was very responsive to a request for more pillows. The decor is alittle dated but not in a distracting way. All in all, a great place to stay!

This place is so cute and quiet. After a long day playing tourist it was so nice to come back to this clean, quiet studio. The extra touches were great. Waking up to the birds every morning was so special. I love this place.

Lanikai is truly one of the most beautiful places on Earth, and Hawai'i's Hidden Hideaway and its host, Janice, are absolute treasures. We definitely plan on returning, and would recommend this property to anyone wanting a peaceful and private stay within walking distance of one of the top beaches in the world, and easy access to all the inland and coastal sights on O'ahu.

We wanted to stay in Kailua because of Lanikai beach and this was just a short walk away—so perfect!! The place was super cute, we got the room with the hot tub and we got a lot of use out of it!! Also, I wasn’t expecting the amount of snacks, drinks, and breakfast items in our unit when we arrived! It was super generous and delicious stuff!!! Thank you very much for the wonderful place to stay.

Could not have asked for a better location! We typically begin our holidays in busier island areas then end somewhere more relaxed. This BnB worked great for us. The breakfasts made it possible for us to get our days started early. And the beach equipment was appreciated and in really good condition. Even without the tradewinds, we didn't need the a/c, fans kept us comfortable.

The location is incredible, just a short walk to beautiful Lanikai beach! There was a bit of confusion about which place we were staying in but once we were there it was clear. We were in a studio with twin beds and a small kitchenette. there was a nice sitting area for breakfast. Our lovely host Janice provided everything we needed for our beach outings and more food than we could eat! A big thank you to Janice!

Hawaiis Hidden Hideaway is a real gem! Clean, comfortable and with every amenity you can think of to make your stay as comfortable as your home. From the outside it is just like the pictures . The inside is a different matter . It’s is dirty outdated and cluttered . It’s also infested with bugs and mosquitoes. I received 9 bites within 24 hours , and I have an allergy to bites so I’m still dealing with the aftermath. The host is extremely slow to respond insists on communicating via email or landline phone which she never answers and takes 24 hours plus to respond . Also the stirs going to the studio are a death trap rocks and uneven edges that she waters at night and in the am it’s a slip and fall nightmare .We received a refund - however that does not begin to compensate for the bites , we checked out 3 days early and moved to a clean hotel.

A fabulous location - close to beach, golf courses, activities/adventures, restaurants and more. Our accommodations included a private hot tub on a deck with wonderful landscaping, sun and coastal breeze that created a wonderful ambiance. Perfect spot in Kailua. The pictures were a little misleading though. Made it seem like we were getting two separate rooms or two queen size beds but that was not the case. We got one room with two twin beds. My brother and I didn’t mind a bit though! They wrote sweet welcome cards and supplied us with pastries and fresh fruit! We walked to the beach every morning to see an amazing view! It was truly wonderful!

The pros…this property is in a great location to the beach. The owner is very sweet. This isn’t a true bed and breakfast, but it is a safe place to lay your head when you are in Hawaii, with privacy. The cons…the room is very outdated. It needs remodeled. It is like stepping into your great grandma’s house…not at all what i expected and was too expensive for what it was. If we were staying longer than two days, we would have moved to a different location. There are no restaurants, stores, or anything around, so if you stay here, make sure you rent a car. Overall, it did its job for what we needed.

Location is great. Manager onsite and very helpful. Laundry available. Covered parking a big plus. The only thing I can say is that the unit we stayed in (sunset suite) is very dated. Minor investments would go a long way. All bedding is old, carpet in unit which traps sand, mini refrigerator but has freezer. Bed is king size, but two twin mattresses put together, so substantial foam topper. Couldn’t feel the difference in two mattresses vs one, but made for a very soft mattress and with a bad back this wasn’t the greatest. The kitchen was equipped, but the instructions were to wash your dishes before you leave and the only sink is the bathroom, so kind of different. Overall good time had and can’t beat the beach! Easy to pack a lunch and cooler and walk 15 min to the beach. Also walking distance to pill box trail which leads to an amazing view. I like to get a morning run in and this is a great location to get 5-10 easy miles in in the morning. Great little store nearby that has amazing poke! One last thing, two small flights of stairs to get to unit so it you need ADA this won’t work.

Perfect 4 nights! Easy entry and parking. What set this place apart, however, were the thoughtful touches that the owner, a beacon of hospitality, sprinkled throughout our stay. The room was stocked with an array of great snacks and drinks, catering to our cravings at any hour. It felt as if they had thought of everything, from beach towels to beach chairs, ensuring our beach days were as carefree as possible. Speaking of the owner, their friendly and attentive nature added a layer of warmth to our stay. The guidebook was full of recommendations for local eats and hidden gems, making us feel more like valued guests than transient travelers. In summary, our stay was nothing short of magical. The combination of the cozy suite, the luxurious jacuzzi, the well-appointed amenities, and the owner's unparalleled hospitality made our Hawaii vacation unforgettable. If you're seeking a slice of paradise with a personal touch, look no further. This cozy house is a testament to the Aloha spirit, inviting you to relax, rejuvenate, and revel in the beauty of Hawaii.

This was a great location as we rented a car for the week and toured most parts of the island. Having local restaurants, grocery store, Target, etc. nearby was a big benefit. The place is small, but we didn't have the need to stay inside except to sleep and shower. The patio was very relaxing. The host lives on the property and was very attentive to any needs we had.
