We had a great stay! The unit is comfortable and clean. Beds were comfortable, AC worked well in most areas, but downstairs bedroom didn’t cool off quite as well. The unit does need some repairs and updates, but this is likely reflected in the lower cost as compared to other units in the complex. Adjust your expectations accordingly and you’ll be happy. In-unit laundry, beach equipment were useful (though some beach chairs were broken). Great location near one of the two pools. Overall we were pleased and would rent again.
This was our third time to the Big Island, and this stay was fabulous. The location was central to the beaches we like to visit. There was plenty of room for the four of us. The use of the beach equipment/ towels/ cooler was fabulous. Although we have our own snorkeling gear, there was plenty we could have borrowed. My youngest son loved playing tennis. We will definitely come back!
The villa is in a beautiful secure gated community. Two large pools one almost outside the door and the other with a rock waterfall and hot tub a few minutes away. The villa itself has everything you need for your stay. The only downside from my perspective is the housekeeping co. coubetter job.
Great place to stay
Everything was smooth and flawless. The property owners were amazing, they went an extra mile to make our vacation into a real "dream vacation".
We have stayed in many condos on the big island in roughly the same price range so we have some experience with what to expect, this was by far the most beat-up accommodation we've had. I expect some wear and tear for a rental property, but this was rough. In the kitchen drawer fronts were duct taped on, the closet doors in the hallway were completely broken and falling off their hinges, and there were many other signs of neglect. Ultimately it was not a relaxing place for me to be. When I originally made the bookings I saw a few reviews that mentioned the same thing, but chose to give the property the benefit of the doubt. Soon after booking I grew too nervous about the reviews and tried to cancel the booking. I should have read the cancellation policy more carefully because even 90 days out we couldn't get a full refund and were stuck. I'm thinking we should have just taken the hit and booked somewhere clean, maintained, and peaceful. I think the most positive thing I have to say is that the beach supplies were well stocked.
The condo was ok. Since we mostly just slept there, I was able to overlook some flaws. However, the place is in need of several repairs; laundry room doors, drawer in kitchen, door shelf in refrigerator, and other small things. Furniture/decor would help as well. Overall, our 1st trip to Hawaii will not be our last.
We had a wonderful time in this condo! It was perfect for our family of four. There are plenty of beach toys/chairs/towels that made our trip very easy! There are so many cool beaches within a short drive that you won’t have to visit the same one twice. We were very happy with our stay and would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Enjoyed the accommodation. Excellent. We would stay there again. Thanks for everything.
To celebrate my daughters graduation from high school we took a trip to the big island. This was our first time staying in Waikoloa Beach Resort. We loved the location of the condo, all the beach stuff (although some of the umbrellas were broken), overall cleanliness was good, good amenities, closeness to pool was nice, and the AC was spectacular! Condo does show wear, but that didn't bother us. Overall, it was a very comfortable condo and the set up was perfect for our group. We would book this condo again in the future.
Beautifull property but it needs to be fixed
This condo in the Colony Villas was convenient to everything in Waikoloa...Queen's & King's Shopping, the beach, both pools, the fitness center, and lots more. My wife and I have never offered a subjective review before since there are so many opinions, but this condo is in serious need of a complete facelift. There are too many items that need the attention of what a normal homeowner would do to his or her personal property on a regular basis everyday. The floor tiles in several rooms were cracked, the laundry room door is broken, the veneer in the upstairs bathroom cabinets is cracked, the ceiling in the MBR has peeling drywall, the light fixture in the downstairs BR is unsafe with an exposed electrical connection, the dishwasher and the range are very old and need to be replaced, and the pillows on the MBR bed look and feel to be inherited free from the Salvation Army. Personal preference and comment only, but the LR furniture is mis-sized for the room and makes it very difficult to comfortably watch TV at night. Unit was basically clean, but ceiling fans in all rooms had not been cleaned in some time and there was dust caked on the fan blades. Good basic condo with a great location but needs serious work. We stayed for a month and were ready to get back home!
Absolutely beautiful and peaceful!! I loved the space in the condo and all the little extras… beach bags, beach chairs.. so nice to have.. beautiful quite pools and amazing easy check in and out.. we will definitely be booking again 🏝️
