Welcome to your Kona home-away-from-home, a beautiful and inviting, two-story property featuring a spacious, 950+ sq. ft. two-bedroom, one-bath apartment that takes full advantage of its peaceful, elevated setting and stunning sunsets. The apartment occupies the entire first level and has a private entrance with no interior access to the upstairs, giving you a separate space for quiet, private living. Whether you're on a work trip, a temporary relocation, or simply seeking a beautiful and relaxing island stay, this furnished unit offers comfort, space, and thoughtful details that make a rental feel like a real home.
Inside, you'll find a contemporary living room and dining area with plenty of natural light and ceiling fans in every room. The layout is excellent for relaxing, and there are two Smart/ROKU TVs, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. We have high speed internet for work or for streaming. The kitchen is fully stocked and functional, with a full-size refrigerator with an in-door ice and water dispenser, microwave, and a brand new Frigidaire range/oven. You will find a Keurig coffee maker, toaster, blender and other small appliances. If you prefer to cook outside, the large covered lanai is set up for outdoor dining and includes a propane gas grill. The home is surrounded by tropical landscaping, grassy lawns, and native Hawaiian flowers, making the large lanai and outdoor space just as welcoming as the inside.
Sleeping arrangements are flexible and comfortable; the main bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom has a queen bed and also a desk and chair should you need a dedicated work space. A comfortable queen-sized pull-out sofa bed is also available in the living room. There's a high chair, kids' dishes, portable Pack & Play and beach toys for families traveling with little ones. You'll also have access to the laundry room with a washer and dryer located in the garage. Parking available on premises.
At 1,200+ ft. elevation, the apartment stays cool with natural trade winds and lower temperatures than in town. Enjoy your morning Kona coffee on the large, private lanai while enjoying the garden, a variety of birds and beautiful coastal views, or enjoy from the hammock under a clear night sky. And when you're ready to go, you're just a short drive from Kona village, Ali'i Drive, Kailua pier, and many beautiful beaches. You can help yourself to an assortment of beach chairs, umbrella, coolers, and beach towels for your Big Island adventures. Nearby, you'll find numerous local restaurants, coffee farms and shops, including a COSTCO only 10 mins away. Lori is a fantastic host. Great communication and so welcoming. The house is immaculate and perfectly appointed. I loved my mornings on the lanai waking up with the sun - and birds. The house is at the perfect place between Kona and the Kohala coast beaches. It is our second time renting from Lori and we hope there will be a third.
The property was clean & cozy. Lori & Amanda were very helpful since this was our first trip to Hawaii. There were fresh baked brownies in the fridge for myself, my husband & our adult son when we got there. They had suggestions for everything from grocery stores for me to get my dairy free food items to what each beach is best for and restaurants. The lanai and yard with the hammock had perfect views of the ocean & sunsets. We loved it & would stay here again
Beautiful location overlooking the ocean, with stunning sunsets every evening. Comfortable beds, nice kitchenette and living room. Large covered lanai was a great place to hang out, even if it was raining. The hosts were great, even left us a "welcome" goodie (yum!).
We had a wonderful stay at Lori and Amanda’s ohana. We arrived to fresh banana bread and a welcome note. Apartment is nicely located for easy access to all parts of island. Nice quiet neighborhood with roosters and cocqui frogs serenading you! Great communication from host. Apartment has everything you need and more. There was even a Christmas tree for the holidays! We loved sitting on the lanai enjoying the breeze. We would certainly come again. Highly recommend!
The condo was clean, neat, and well stocked with necessary utensils. we were met by the owners daughter, who was very nice and polite. The location was pretty close to necessary needs and activities. You do need a car to get around, but be prepared to pay excessive parking fees for visits to downtown Kailua unless you go very early. the area was fun to be active by the ocean and a lovely island. I would highly recommend this condo for small groups, especially for a quiet stay.
Lori is THE BEST host we have EVER had! When I communicated to Lori about our flight troubles and we wouldn't arrive until night-time, she offered to pick up a few groceries for us. After I declined her very nice offer, Lori put some homemade papaya bread and orange juice in our refrigerator so that we could have something for breakfast when we woke up. That along with a cup of coffee, compliments of Lori, on our beautiful lanai was the perfect way to destress after a bad airport experience. Obviously, Lori truly cares about her guests. And her place is amazing! The bed was so comfortable, as was the hammock! Everything was spotless and in perfect condition. If we go back to the Big Island, we will definitely stay there again. Very highly recommend!

Stayed with older teenager, close to a variety of beaches and a short drive to town for supplies The unit came with everything you need to hit the beach. Lori was an excellent host, even ensuring a first great morning with supplies after a late night flight arrival. We loved to use the lanai for grilling and socializing in the evening.
We had a lovely stay and appreciated both the spacious apartment, beautiful lanai and view along with. Lori's gracious hosting. The apartment was well stocked with all that we needed for beach outings and we were greeted with delicious home made papaya bread. When I left a few items at the house, Lori made sure that I got them back. Mahalo!
The home is beautiful, and perfectly located high on the hill. The sunset views are gorgeous, and the hammock on the property got a lot of use. The kitchenette is perfect for preparing breakfast and simple meals to enjoy on the very large lanai. Coqui frogs will serenade you at night, and free roaming chickens visit throughout the morning hours. There are plenty of towels and beach chairs to borrow for adventures.
