Fantastic experience. Great view and access to the ocean. Lots of sea turtles paaing by. Thank you for a wonderful vacation!
The host was great and the location was beautiful.
Peaceful retreat on my favorite part of the island. Kind and talented hosts were great. 5 Stars
The view did not disappoint! And daily visits from turtles and other marine visitors was so much fun!We would do this again! Some things to know: parking is tight, smells like old mildew, and don't leave food out for the ants. Not all outlets work for charging phones at night. Hosts were FANTASTIC, very informative and accommodating.
Check in and out easy, open space, beautiful view, bedroom ac worked great at night. Kitchen open good for making small meals.
The pictures are accurate, beach is right out your door, but a little bit of effort with details would go a long way. We don’t stay in extra fancy places (some of our vacations have had no running water and an outhouse), so I don’t think our expectations are extreme when staying at VRBO’s, it’s just nice to know what you’re getting into. The kitchen dishes/tools, bedding, and towels could use an upgrade. Soap for the laundry would have been a nice touch. The AC was a window unit in the bedroom and did not at all help the living area cool down. The windows didn’t open easily to help with a breeze, one we were afraid to try to open because it seemed the saltwater had sealed it shut. While we were there, the waves were way too extreme for swimming. The rental was clean, but just felt like it was equipped with the bare minimum. Neither the bed nor the furniture were that comfortable. Also, we might have missed this info in the listing but there is another unit attached to the property, so even if it states that their outdoor space is their upper deck, our experience was the other renters using our yard space and moving our designated outdoor furniture. We had thought that when we booked this property we would be lounging in the quiet of our own yard, but found the nearby beaches to be a better location to relax.
Nice place right on the water with beautiful view of the ocean and nearby mountains to the south. It's comfortable for two. The only thing we missed was a better equipped kitchen since restaurant options nearby are minimal and not so good. But all in all, a good place.
Great and easy access. Parking lot is small but reasonable once you figure it out. Bare minimum here at this apartment. It could use a few touch ups. The AC in the bedroom needs to go! Time for a new one. Other than that I would love to stay here again. Tide low in morning and slamming the wall after 3 pm. Sitting outside staring at the water highly recommended with a glass of wine.
Responsive and polite host. Great view. Only complaint is the AC in the bedroom does not blow very cold.
My sister and I had the most amazing time!! It was our first time to Hawaii and we awoke early each morning to catch every sunrise!! Words cannot describe how much we enjoyed our stay!! Lounging in the yard just watching the waves was so peaceful!! I hope to return to Oahu one day and will definitely be staying here! Mahalo!!
We traveled all over the island but arrived back to enjoy the privacy and sound of the waves.
Everything was just what was needed. Perfect and quiet location
The property is cozy. No real frills. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning in bedroom only. Place is kind of outdated but quiet. Looking for a quiet place close to the beach, this is it. No stove, just a hot plate. There is a coffee maker but you will have to provide your own coffee.
This is our 2nd time staying at this oceanfront property and we love it here. Great grass area right outside the sliding glass door where you can sit and enjoy the waves and ocean views.
The property was behind the art studio and it eliminated the road noise. It allowed us to enjoy the ocean sounds. Very little people activity on the ocean and that made for a very peaceful vacation. The host was very friendly and was responsive to our communication. Wish we could stay more than our 10 days, but alas we must return to the real world.
We enjoyed the sunrise and our ocean view.
This is a very comfortable property that shares incredible views. Location gives easy access to less busy parts of the island. Lance is very responsive and our stay was wonderful!
Peace and renewal.
Hauula is a quiet town, the property was very peaceful and relaxing. We went to the grocery store to store up some breakfast and snack items. This allowed us to relax while enjoying an ocean view whenever we weren’t out touring. Lance, the owner, was very responsive to the one request we had. We would visit this location again when on O’ahu. Great bargain for location!!! Thank you!!!
Parking and initial entry was a little confusing, but host answered call and clarified. From then on it was smooth. A photo of the entry would have been helpful.
We had a wonderful experience. We were looking forsomething off the beaten path and we found it. The sunrises were so beautiful. We started every morning with a short yoga routine in the awesome back yard. The view is every bit as amazing (if not more) than the pictures promise. The quarters were very spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed being able to take a quick dip whenever we wanted in the ocean by simply stepping off the backyard into the water. Plenty of places to go within the immediate area. Great coffee stand just down the road. Crouching Lion restaurant just reopened and had a variety of top class foods (we are foodies and loved it). You could get anywhere on the island in no more than about 45 minutes or so. North Shire just right up the road. Shower had plenty of hot water. A/C only in the bedroom, so the remainder of the house could get a bit warm, but not terrible as the wind off the ocean would cool things enough. And the AC in the bedroom cooled room very quickly. We loved having the washer and dryer. Finally, when 83 was busy, it could be slightly tricky to get out of the parking lot. Hosts are terrific. They asked about any needs that we had. A stay. We will book this place again when we come back to Oahu.
This is a beautiful location within 30 feet of the ocean. Beautiful sun rises and the sound of the waves! Space is ample and the bed was great.
Great location with beautiful views.
Absolutely beautiful
It smells dank. The bedroom is claustrophobic. The main room walls, mat, and especially the upholstery is so ugly. On the positive side, you are steps from the ocean. You will be up to your ankles when you step in the Ocean. F
Our recent stay in Hauula was absolutely fantastic! The place was clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable vacation. The host was incredibly responsive and accommodating, making check-in and communication a breeze. But the true star is the location, right on the ocean. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful VRBO rental that is a little off the beaten path as far as touristy stuff goes, but your own private ocean front is impossible to beat. We did make the short drive to the Polynesian Cultural Center and also took in the sights on the way to Haleiwa for a day. All-in-all a great place.
We really enjoyed being this close to the ocean for a few days. Went to the Byodo-in temple and the Polynesian cultural center while we were on this side of the island. Lance was awesome and informative. He is actually an exceptional artist. A tip for him…put some more of your artwork in the unit and offer them for sale to the guests. It would liven up the space and probably boost print sales.
Absolutely gorgeous backyard leading to steps down to the water. It's even better than it looks in the VRBO photos. Amazing sunrise every morning. Place was spotless, nice little extras like maps, tote bag and beach towels. Pleasant surprise, you can barely hear the traffic go by. Parking was narrow, but totally doable, plus local drivers are very kind and will give you time and space - that we found all around Oahu. Thanks Lance for a small slice of heaven on the sea.
Enjoyed watching birds, turtles, and sunrise over the ocean. Relaxing special place.
Wonderful stay on the North Shore away from the crowds. Beach front location was great. Watched the sun rise each morning and fell asleep to the sound of the ocean each night. There was plenty of space and had what we needed.
Lance’s property is in just the right place to head south for the big city or north to the beaches of the north shore. Excellent sunrise views. Accommodations were clean and simple, perfect for a getaway. I recommend that you rent a compact car to make parking easier.
This property has some positives and several negatives. The positives: comfortable bed, overall the property is clean, has direct beach access, full size frig and washer and dryer. The negatives: there is only AC in the bedroom (on hot days; like when we were there, the rest of the space is not comfortable), and yes, the small winodw AC will drone all night; there is no stove (just a hot plate and toaster); unless you have a small vehicle, you will not fit in the parking space next to the property...while there is space out front, the owner prefers you don't park there. As for the location, note that the best beaches are to the north (towards Turtel Bay), starting at Laie Bay...
Small dated apartment, but just what we needed. We had a wonderful time although I must say getting out of the parking area at times was challenging. There is an air conditioner in the bedroom only, but all you have to do is open the sliding door to get a good breeze in the living area. Enjoyed staying out of the big city, much more relaxing.
This place is NOT in the heart of the city and that’s what we loved. Amazing ocean front view with privacy. Fruit stands, food trucks. Not commercial and off the beaten path
This property offers great views of the water, exciting waves at high tide and beach access at low tide. Great host. Only negative was the property next door had very load kids which we were not expecting so this took a little away from the relaxing on the deck/lawn chairs.
Nice property at a great location. Great view! Very convenient to the North Shore beaches we like to visit. Would come back.
Perfect location
My husband and I stayed only 3 nights but it was just the right amount of time for us. Because we came from a resort on another island, the contrast was extreme. This apartment is exactly what the description in the listing provided. It’s basic, no frills with a full glass wall that gives a view of a small grass area leading down a few steps to the ocean. The palm tree (coconuts too) and lounge chairs are part of the show but the ocean and skies with ever changing clouds are spectacular. The apartment is simple with good shower (pressure), comfortable king bed, older furniture that is certainly adequate, washer/dryer (we didn’t use), a wall a/c and ceiling fans. It took opening windows for a cross breeze that helped cool down the rooms. No complaints about this rental. We were the ones who had to adjust our perception. It really is perfect. Thank you Lance.
My wife and I stayed three nights and had an amazing time. The view each morning from the back yard was stunning. We should stay again in a heart beat.
Perfect for sitting and watching the beautiful ocean. Access easy to water during low tide. Unit is rustic as described but clean and well supplied. Very comfortable bed. Thank you for a great stay.
My wife and I really enjoyed this awesome place. It was in a perfect location away from all the tourists, yet close enough to the city and close to the northshore. Lance was great and super helpful. Enjoyed the backyard and having a washer and dryer was a plus! Highly recommend this place.
We had a wonderful time. Close to Polynesian cultural center and beautiful north shore beaches and small town good eats. Yet out of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Beautiful Ocean view and nice place to walk beach in The morning when the surf is out. We left some clothes in the dryer by accident and our host Lance was so kind as to mail it pack to us - no charge. So very kind. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a quiet low key place.
The place was clean, bed was very comfortable and location was beautiful.
We enjoyed out stay. We loved the relaxing view of the ocean. We were able to explore the north shore as well as Honolulu, We liked to low key vibe in the area.
The location was great and so close to the ocean and mostly very private and so very nice and quiet. The upstairs was also rented to another party while we were there but we hardly ever saw them. This a great location to head in any direction of the island. Check-in n out was super simple.
Close to attractions
Place had everything we needed and location was great for exploring the North Shore. Bed was comfortable, Bathroom and Washer/Dryer (remember to bring detergent) were very functional. Full Sized Fridge was great Sitting area on the water was wonderful in the morning and water was great for a dip. Couches inside could be updated as they were the most comfortable which probably wouldn't have mattered to us but we sat on them a bunch watching the superbowl. We did get some bug bites sitting on the grass so bring your bug spray. Would stay here again as great value for the price.
Great stay. very accurate description. We enjoyed stay
Beautiful waterfront property and great location to explore different parts of the island. Lots of space inside with everything needed to cook simple meals. Parking was a little tight and difficult at times to exit the property since the highway was quite busy, but just required extra patience. Would definitely stay again and recommend for anyone looking for a private place to relax!
We can’t wait to come back! It was an incredible stay!
I absolutely loved waking up to the sunrise over the ocean, watching the geckos come out at night, and seeing the lizards eating their bug meals. The ocean access was unbelievable and totally unforgettable.
