Island Life Retreat-Ocean Front-Beach Access

We had a wonderful stay! The location is quiet and peaceful, with a beautiful private beach that made the whole trip feel extra special. The property is a little dated, but honestly, it was exactly what we were looking for—comfortable, relaxing, and a great value for the price.Kim was amazing to work with and incredibly accommodating, which made everything even smoother. We truly enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm and enjoyable getaway.

CONDO WAS WELL EQUIPPED, ON THE BEACH, GROUND FLOOR

This property has a beautiful location, just steps away from a quiet, sandy beach. We enjoyed the peaceful sound of the waves, as well as evening strolls along the beach watching the sea turtles come ashore for the evening. The condo itself could use some updating, but overall had everything we needed. Unfortunately the pool was closed for the duration of our stay, and we could not access the internet after the first day of our arrival. Normally this would not be too much of a bother for our family since we love to explore rather than sitting poolside, but unfortunately for this trip, our teenaged daughter needed to sit some hikes out due to an ankle sprain. Having no internet/tv/pool made the days that she and her sister stayed behind long. Our biggest frustration was that we reached out to the host numerous times for advice on how to connect the internet, with no response. Likewise with questions about the pool. She still has not replied to our messages. Expect very poor communication if you experience a problem.

We had a wonderful stay at this condo with the kids! Great location, away from the busy hotels in Honolulu. Our host was amazing to us during our stay!

Kim was our host and she was dynamite.The condo is dated but so what? You're on the ground floor and literally 25 yards from the water.We had one sea turtle come up and took a 15 hour nap on the sand right at one of the steps. He finned his way back to the water overnight.The only foot traffic is from this condo complex. The dryer dries waaaay fast and the freezer freezes almost as fast.There's an O.G. store - Ching's - two minutes down the road with bare essentials as well as liquor. Very close to them is Kaya's Store. Not good, but inside the store is Kaya's Kitchen with some huge breakfast dishes. This is where you should get your Loco Moco. You gotta do this if you're in Hawaii. You don't have to get a Loco Moco here, but you gotta get it somewhere. The only downside - and it's the only downside - is that there's no AC. Just two ceiling fans and three stand up fans. We would just move the fans into the bedroom at night, take a quick ocean dip, go in and take a cold shower and hit the hay. And we did this during the hottest month of the year out here, thanks to NCL canceling our May cruise for routine maintenance. But that's a whole other story. Get this condo. You won't be sorry.

Loved this property for our honeymoon. Only stayed here the last 2 nights of our vacation but wish we would have found this place sooner. Great location with the beach right in your backyard. Highly recommend!

The place was exactly how it was described. Did mot need ac as sea breeze was cooling the place down entire time. Loved all water gears that were available. This placed literally had everything you need at home. Loved it!

We have stayed in this complex before, but this is our new favorite condo to rent. Steps from the pool and beach. So much available to use as well!

I would stay again. Very casual and equipped with snorkeling gear. Definetely could use simple blackout curtains for the person who sleeps on the daybed or expect to be up at 6am. The one bedroom is great and big and dark but we had to switch off who got the bright room and up with the rooster! With black out curtains - I give it a 9, otherwise still a 8!

If you are looking to get out of the touristy Waikiki I highly recommend this place. It came with everything you need to have a fun couple days on the beach and a nice deck to escape the sun. This is a more “country” part of the island so don’t expect a perfect resort. But it was clean and cozy. I would definitely come back.

This property was perfect for wanting to be on the beach and away from the city. It was close enough to get to anywhere on the island within 45 min to an hour. The scenery was picturesque and the condo was in great condition and clean. Would definitely stay again.

The property is very close to the beach where turtles sun bathe every morning. We also saw a monk seal playing in the water, and we were only there 2 nights. The ocean was very calm and crystal clear. There is a box with snorkel gear on the porch, plenty of beach towels and beach umbrellas. The kitchen is stocked with pantry basics and much more compared to many rentals I have stayed in.

We had such an amazing time here . The condo was everything we were looking for and the beach was breathtaking. Kim was amazing and made the check in and out process effortless. We can not wait to come back and enjoy more time here!!! Maholo Kim for an amazing stay and sharing this place with us!!!

We really loved the stay. The perfect view, the roaming chickens, the ukelele playing neighbors, and the sea turtle on the beach made it magical.

This older but clean, cozy, fully stocked, lovely condo without all the fancy amenities was perfect for us. We loved being on a private beach with quaint towns and shopping nearby. Host was very responsive to our needs and questions.

Over all this is a good place to stay. Our condo was on the ground level. It was right by where everyone gets there mail, Keys ect. the bedroom was is the front where everyone seems to congragate, right out side the bedroom window. It was very LOUD ! people talking, and slamming there doors, no privacy. I did see a sigh on the building that said quite but people seemed to ignor it. Could of used better airconditioning other than fans.Wish I would of known about the construction on the building that was going on. But overall it was a nice place to stay with beautiful views !!!

Nice private beach. Bring food not much close by to eat. Get up early see the sunrise and walk about 75 feet out your back door to the beach. The turtles come up and night and sleep on the beach. Unit is in nice condition. Building is being renovated.

We loved the place. It was well stocked with everything you need for the beach & cooking. The location is prime - out of the crowds and essentially a private beach with clear swimmable water that you walk out to. It’s not a new place or a fancy resort but it felt homey. We had come from the first half of our trip in Waikiki in a property managed by a business and it was a great 180 to switch to this place. Construction didn’t bother us at all. They started late in the morning anyway. The house was clean enough but it’s old, so it’s certainly not spotless.

for what we paid for the place, i expected a lot more as far as privacy...its a well appointed unit in a condo complex with all sorts of coffee and sauces that are nice so you don't have to go out and buy them....i guess either i didn't pay too much attention to the listing or maybe it wasn't listed quite accurately but for some reason i had the impression this was a unit in someones house, not a giant condo complex under major renovation..when the jack hammering started it was unbearable inside our unit.....once the construction ends the place would be ok if you want to travel all the way to hawaii to be dwelling in like a employee housing project...also, the people that moved into the unit next to us moved out immediately when they saw scaffolding outside their unit and the jackhammering started.....would never stay here again

Ground floor location definitely made this condo excellent. The complex is a bit rundown but loved the location and general area on northeast Oahu.

We enjoyed watching the sunrise each morning. We had a great time overall and enjoyed the beach access from the walk-out condo.

First off, it’s all about location STEPS FROM THE BEACH!!!!! It’s quiet peaceful and absolutely beautiful.The condo is stocked with everything you’ll need for relaxing on the beach to swimming in the pool to barbecues on the patio.There’s a washer and dryer so no need to overpack,it’s a beautiful place to stay highly recommend!!!!

This place is pretty sweet. If you like sunrises and a sandy, swimable beach in the back yard then this is the place. Clean and everything you need.

Amazing location right on the beach, it was so nice to just walk out of the apartment and see paradise. The space was great, kitchen well stocked, Murphy bed was a big hit. There are a lot of beach and pool gear to use, and being right next to the beach and sand made it so easy. The breeze in the evening was amazing, and waking up to sunset was lovely. Kim was responsive and helpful, and would totally stay here again!

We were looking for a quiet stay, away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki and this was perfect! The condo was well appointed with all of the things we could need. All of the items we needed for the beach (towels, boogie boards, chairs, umbrella, grass mats etc) as well as everything necessary to cook a great meal. We were absolutely comfortable here and hope to return.

Our stay was very nice & relaxing. The private beach & beach access were amazing. Our unit was clean and comfortable. The location to local coffee shops and restaurants was great! The only real complaint was sliding door to access lanai and beach did not lock (no key) when we left the unit to go to the beach we closed the main sliding door-if we left all day there was a large wooden dowl we placed in the door track. There is security on site 24/7 which was nice. The unit is also on the 1st floor (which was great for easy access to the unit, parking lot & BEACH!) of a larger building. The building is also under renovation so there was construction going on around us during the week days - we went out & about quite often as well as accessed the Beach every day-so the noise was tolerable. There is also a pool basically right outside and to the right of lanai - it was nice and people were swimming- Overall it was a very nice stay.

We loved this super clean, user-friendly condo right on the beach. We saw sea turtles on our sunrise walks and afternoon swims, and we had everything we could have needed. My 6’4” son slept on the Murphy bed, no problem. And we want to buy Kim’s brand of sheets! :)

Our stay was amazing. The condo was equipped with everything imaginable. Size was perfect for myself, adult son and teen. We had plenty of room still. Once you open the front door the view is amazing. There was some construction going on in the outside but we looked beyond since we were in paradise. Kim the management was great and helped us with all questions

This property was an amazing stay. Highlights were the private beach and ability to swim with the turtles. Well equipped apartment that accommodated not only is but our toddler, too. Would definitely recommend to friends and would love to stay again in the future.

This was the perfect location to get away from the hustle and bustle of Oahu. It’s right on the beach. The lawn is well manicured. The beach is nice and sandy with no public access so it seems secluded. There is AC in the unit which allowed us to keep the sliding door closed and keep noise out. The unit is well stocked with bedding, towels, beach gear, kitchenware, charcoal bbq supplies, even seasonings. My only qualm is that the bedroom window is next to a frequented hallway. So if you’re a light sleeper, this might be an issue. Ear plugs did the trick.

As others have said the building is under renovation. Our first morning there was a Friday and the crew showed up but it was raining too hard. Then the weekend so we did not have work going on while we there. We did have scaffolding in front but it didn't spoil the view or our time on the lanai. The unit is lovingly decorated and very well furnished in both the kitchen and beach equipment. The king size bed was quite comfortable, the murphy bed not as much. But the separation of space was ideal for my sister and me. Lots of extra bedding available. Small bathroom but the shower was lovely. It is an older building so don't expect perfection but it was super nice. Nice location from which to explore the North Shore and the Polynesian Cultural Center. We would stay again.

Great location, great condo and a beautiful privte beach. Who can ask for more! The condo was well equipped for play and for cooking. Quite a variety of spices provided as well. Loved our time onsite and exploring the North Shore!

Great place to stay. Quiet and secure with only the sounds of the ocean.

Everything in the unit is exactly as described. The construction was a minor annoyance, I understand its necessity. I would definitely stay at this property again. The protected waters of Punalu’u are some of the best! Excellent snorkeling. Every night the turtles sleep on the beach. We also saw a monk seal. The beds were sufficient, the newly remodeled shower is nice. Kitchen was very well stocked. Food trucks and a convenience store across the street. We loved our time here!

The property was directly connected to a beautiful beach which made it easy to enjoy the beach/ocean any time of day or night.

We absolutely loved the sunrises and location right on the beach! There was construction equipment right outside the back door, and lots of construction all around the property. The bedroom was not ideal as there was noise from people walking around the window but the Murphy bed in the back of the unit was great for hearing the ocean. We would stay here again!

Away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Private beaches where the turtles come right up to rest in the evenings. Nice bbq spot to cook on. The house had everything you needed! Will definately come back!
