Normally resort passes cost $100/adult and $60/child but when staying at this home use for up to 8 people is COMPLIMENTARY with no additional cost each and every day of your stay. This includes use of resort pools, the river pool, waterslides, hot tub, saltwater lagoon for snorkeling, lounge chairs, towels and parking validation for one vehicle.
It also includes a 10% discount on Spa Treatments, 10% discount on Lagoon toys and Cabana rentals.
Guests love this resort pass which gives them the best of both worlds with hotel privileges and a comfortable well equipped vacation home.
Children under 5 do not count towards 8 people.
Shades of Summer is a single story, free-standing home (no stairs and not a shared-wall townhouse) that is comfortable and tastefully decorated. Perfect for up to 6 guests, it is a true island home away from home…

The house has a modern Polynesian design and a spacious, 1700 sq. ft, open floor plan with beautiful travertine floors throughout and a fully equipped gourmet kitchen, outfitted with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances.
Two private backyard lanais (which open from large sliding glass doors off the living room and primary bedroom) are furnished with stylish seating and a BBQ, and are surrounded by lush, tropical landscaping, giving a sense of tranquility and calm.
The lanai also features a retractable sunshade for extra comfort on those super sunny tropical days!
There are two bright and airy Primary bedroom suites, both with King beds and spa-like, ensuite bathrooms.
The third bedroom has two TwinXLs that can be combined as a King with gel topper and also has an ensuite bath.
Beyond building an elegant, yet comfortable furnished home, we know it's often the small surprises and conveniences that make all the difference.

We love building really big sand castles. Kohala sand is exceptional for this and we have the tools for kids and adults alike. For your day at the beach, you'll find:

• Large collection of snorkel gear in multiple sizes so you can share the wonders of the ocean
• Boogie boards to enjoy playing in the waves
• Life jackets, swim belts for the younger ones

Enjoy our collection of bikes (adult, youth and kids with helmets and locks) allowing you to explore the Mauna Lani resort. They are great for going to the Private Beach Club, exploring the Black Sand Beach, historical grounds, Fairmont resort hotel or the many other wonderful places that Mauna Lani has to offer. Things to do
Staying in KaMilo gives you full access to its Recreation Center with fitness equipment and multiple hot tubs and lap pool, freeform pool and kiddie pool.
You can also take advantage of the clean private beach club staffed with lifeguards and the Napua Restaurant just two miles away. Excellent snorkeling in calm waters!
A short drive away are the six of the most spectacular beaches in Hawaii including Beach 69, Hapuna beach and the breathtaking Mauna Kea beach.
The Kohala coast is a golfer's paradise with seven challenging courses all within seven miles of our villa.
Minutes down the street is the Shops at Mauna Lani where you can find supermarket, coffee shops, restaurants, clothing and accessory stores, art, and free weekly entertainment in the evenings.
Shades of Summer is within the Mauna Lani resort, close to both Auberge and the Fairmont Orchid Hotels.

We loved being in a home that was so clean, well equipped and spacious. Having the Hilton passes plus the Mauna Lani beach passes meant we were never far from an adventure. Every little extra in this home was much appreciated and exceeded our expectations. Paradise in Hawaii was easy to work with and made our arrival and departure effortless.
This was our third time traveling to the Big Island and this was an amazing property! Loved the layout, the amenities, and the location. We did not travel with kids, but the option to go over to the Hilton was such an awesome perk. Would love to come back with our kids, stay at this property, and take them there. We had a relaxing time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We did buy 2 surf boards while we were there and left them so fellow travelers can enjoy! Mahalo!
This condo was lovely and in a great neighborhood of Mauna lani - KaMilo. The pools and fitness center are great. The beach club access is a favorite for all. The little lanai was a really nice place to relax morning and night. Thank you!One critique: we could barely reach the shower heads and needed to get them down for rinsing: could you put them on an adjustable bar?
We had a wonderful stay! The house provided everything we needed from bikes, beach chairs, laundry and kitchen items. We loved having the three bedrooms and three bathrooms it worked so well for our older kids. Having a private backyard patio we wonderful at night, a plus with this house was the Hilton pool passes, we utilized these and enjoyed our day there. FYI if booking in this area make sure you have adequate parking space some driveway are to small for a full size SUV, shades is summer was just big enough. We loved the quiet resort area but close to restaurants and a grocery store just down the road. We will book again! Mahalo!
My son, 2 grandsons, and I stayed in this lovely house for 5 nights. It was spotless, the kitchen had every utensil we needed, (my son cooked every night,) the fun stuff in the garage suited our needs, we love the Beach Club. We've stayed in other PiH units. They are always wonderful, as this one is.
This was our first time staying in the Kulalani development and we would definitely come back to this property. House was clean (including all the kitchen items) and organized upon arrival and the layout of the house was great for our family (two bedrooms on one side of house and one larger bedroom on other side of house). Community was quiet and close to pool. Thanks for a great stay!
We had the most amazing time at this property. It was a trip with friends to celebrate a couple fall birthdays. I was so impressed by their proactive communication about lodging preferences. They stayed in contact regarding our AC to make sure it was functioning and we were comfortable. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a special place in paradise.
The property is well maintained. You would not say it's a rental. Very conveniently located next to the supermarket and other shops. Felt like home. Would definitely stay again.
My family of four plus my mom stayed at this house and it was perfect. We all had our own rooms/bathrooms (my boys shared but had individual beds) but it was so nice to be able to have the common area to hang out in as opposed to hotel rooms. Great location to the pool and gym, which we used. Short walk to get coffee or breakfast in the morning. Would highly recommend. It was extremely clean as well!
