The setting is Princeville on the lush north shore of the "Garden Island." The neighborhood is a small collection of custom homes that share a well maintained swimming pool and tennis court. The views are verdant gardens speckled with the colors of tropical flowers and exotic plants against a backdrop of majestic mountains. formed millions of years ago.
This is an air conditioned two-story home of 3200 square feet with a large great room, half-bathroom, kitchen, living room and master suite with TV upstairs. Downstairs there are two bedrooms, a large family room, an office and two bathrooms. There is plenty of room for everyone to gather together as well as space for anyone to spend quiet moments with a good book or other peaceful endeavor.
Your home away from home was totally renovated recently and has been designed and furnished with great attention to detail. The exquisite hardwood and marble floors as well as the granite counters in the kitchen and vanities in the bathrooms are both luxurious and practical.
Much thought has gone into the furnishings and over-the-top amenities throughout Orchid Hale; like the generously equipped gourmet kitchen. In addition to the essentials like sauce and frying pans, baking dishes and other ovenware, cooking utensils and dishes, you will find an big assortment of small appliances such as a coffee grinder, panini grill, pressure cooker, and slow cooker, to name just a few. The chefs in your group will be delighted!
You may want to check out the Sunshine Markets (farmers' markets) that happen in a different town each week day. That's a great place to find fresh produce to include in your meal plans. And, if you would like to dine out during your stay, there is a nice variety of cafes and restaurants right in Princeville as well as in the neighboring town of Hanalei.
The furnished office downstairs has just what you need in case your visit is partly a working vacation: desk, scanner, large monitor, wireless printer and printer paper. The powerful wireless router is easy to access wherever you are in the house with whatever device you choose.
While you are working, the kids and others in your party can play badminton, croquet and volleyball in the spacious back yard. And indoors, there are board games, a Play Station 3 System with a few PS3 games, an assortment of DVDs you can play on the Blu-Ray/DVD and watch on the 73" TV in the downstairs family room or the 63" TV upstairs in the living room. You may even want to watch some of the movies that have been filmed on Kauai over the years.
Just diagonally across the street are the swimming pool and tennis court. Nearby is Makai Golf Club with its wide open spaces and nicely manicured fairways and greens. Even non-golfers can appreciate the ocean and mountain views along the course. Those who enjoy the game will want to challenge themselves on this recently renovated 18-hole course designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr. There are many beautiful north shore beaches within a short drive of Orchid Hale. We strongly recommend swimming at beaches with a life guard.
Other activities nearby include kayaking, horseback riding, fishing, surfing, windsurfing, helicopter flightseeing tours, hiking, seasonal swimming, snorkeling and tropical botanical garden tours.

The open floor plan with floor to ceiling windows were wonderful for viewing the mountains and lush tropical garden trees and plants below. Kitchen had everything one could want for preparing meals. The owners have incredible artwork which we really enjoyed. Lisa and Krista were exceptionally helpful when a couple of very minor issues came up. We definitely hope to stay in this property again soon.
We loved our stay there! The only thing that we should have done is report water leaking on the garage floor when we got there. It was so rainy we just thought the rain had found a way into the garage. Everything was perfect - it was spacious, beautiful and the kitchen had everything needed to make and serve food. We loved the artwork in the house and the purple bedroom as well as the orange sofas. This is a wonderful place to stay and we will recommend it to friends looking for a great place on the north shore.

My husband and I were upstairs in the master and my sister’s family were downstairs. My sister and niece had their own bathroom and my brother in law and nephew had their own bathroom. They had their own living room downstairs to accommodate their family needs when we (upstairs) wanted to go to bed early. We used the backyard for frisbee and catching footballs because it was so big and spacious. We used the kitchen and the laundry since it was a 9 day stay. Other than the A/C not being able to get fixed during our stay, it was such the perfect house and will definitely stay there again. Kauai vacation rentals staff were wonderful.

After early morning snorkeling at the amazing Tunnels Beach daily and afternoons snorkeling at Annini Beach coming “home” to this beautiful space was perfection! The house was also immaculate; so clean and well maintained. We are grateful to have found this rental. The team at Kauai Vacation Rental was also so nice to work with every time I had questions prior to arrival as well.

It is in a quiet neighborhood with a nice pool very nearby, has room for families to be together but also have their space. The beautiful backyard has tropical flowers, shady trees and room for croquet, catch or frisbee.The kitchen is well stocked and the dining table big enough for family meals. Every room is a fascination of art and memorabilia from around the world.

House was very well stocked, from beach supplies to kitchen pans and utensils. Location was convenient to Princeville amenities and resorts. Price was a bit high with a high cleaning fee and VRBO fee. Only negatives were spotty WiFi (the house has 3 separate networks) and none of them reached into bedrooms well. And toilets would often run continuously or leaked a bit. They definitely need a little maintenance. Otherwise the place was awesome

So much attention to detail, from the artwork, the furniture, everything. The layout was incredible. Our first 4 days of our trip was nothing but non stop rain, and this was the perfect home for being “stuck”. The gourmet kitchen made you want to cook! Our kids loved the backyard, as did I. This felt like a $3-$5m home. And it probably is! Sub-Zero refrig and other high end appliances. And the best part, your own garage! Most owners don’t give you access to the garage. These owners do! Mahalo! Made it easy to get into the home with it it getting rained on. And your garage is impeccable. We also enjoyed doing some washes of the kids clothes the high- end washer and dryer in the garage. The beds... one word. Heavenly. Best sleep of my life. My wife’s and kids didn’t want to get out of bed!!! And the floor to ceiling windows with the majestic view of the Hanalei mountains with waterfalls, and the most serene backyard with this amazing canopy tree. Can’t say enough. We will return. No question.
