Could not beat the view and location! Awesome spot, the place had everything we needed. Would stay here again.
Great stay right on the beach with great snorkeling! Sound of waves at night, sunrise view from the cabin. Kitchen is fully stocked. Bring your coffee to enjoy at sunrise.
Loved being right on the beach, beach views, sunrises, turtles every morning and evening. Parking was close to building. Room had everything we needed. Having a washer/dryer was a plus for us. Great location for venturing out.
Our stay was perfect! We can't wait to return! Such a gem!
This place does not look like the pictures. The bathroom door was broken. The front door was rundown and had no weather seal. The ceilings were dingy and overall this place was not at all like the pictures even after contacting support and trying to talk to the host I could not stay there and the host refused to refund my stay. The host was very rude, and I cussed her out and I don’t even feel bad about it because she fully deserved it. By the way she treated me
The host, the place, the beach, the breezes caressing us and the ocean waves lulling us to sleep were far beyond what we could have imagined. Jackie went above and beyond preparing a well-stocked pantry, sparkling clean home and stunning touches of her eye for beauty throughout the entire condo. We couldn't imagine anything better: the long, safe, and beautiful beach, the turtles, the peace, the quiet, the lovely pool ...so much. Thank you for a beautiful 2 days.
Absolutely fabulous place out in the country!! Can’t wait to go back !
This was a perfect spot for our family of 4, with 2 teens. Waking up each moring to that incredible view of the ocean & sunrise was amazing, as was having the beach right out our door, and swimming/snorkling with sea turtles! The ocean breezes and fans worked well to keep us comfortable despite no AC (even for us Northwest Washington people!). We loved the location in a quiet peaceful part of the island that still had close access to amenities and the beautiful north shore. Even though it's remote, it was a short walk from a few food trucks, and a little minimart with a Hawaiian kitchen, as well as a quick drive to the grocery store and other options. The only reason we knocked a star off of "cleanliness" was because there was what looked like black mold above one of the kids beds. Other than that it was clean and well stocked (though a drying rack would have been nice, since there's nowhere to hang out swimsuits and beach towels to dry). We loved our stay, it felt like a good value for what we paid, and we definitely want to come back! We are headed to the other side of the island next, but wish we had just booked this place for our whole trip!
Beautiful interior. Gorgeous views of the ocean. We enjoyed the ocean breeze and sound of the waves at night. Thank you!
This place has no AC and I could not have been happier. Being from Florida we were a little concerned about staying here in June without AC but it was absolutely amazing. We slept to the sounds of waves crashing and salty breezes blowing through the unit. It did get a little warm one day so we walked a few feet to the cool Pacific Ocean!! The building and exterior is dated and there was a lot of construction going on during the week. Still it was the best stay we had on the island and would definitely recommend it.
We had an amazing time! We could not believe how close we were to the beach/ocean. We could feel/see/hear the ocean at all times in the VRBO. It was so cool to go to sleep to the sounds of waves and wake up to a sunrise each morning. Kitchen is very well stock, decor is refreshing and calm. Mahalo
We loved every minute!
Oahu Secret!Every night, several sea turtles climb up on the beach to rest. This is one of the only places on earth where see turtles will enjoy dryland outside of spawning season. As sea turtles are blinded by white light flash photography use red filtered lights to see where you’re going and give them plenty of space if you tour the beach at night or very early in the morning. Absolutely do not touch them and don’t blind them with white lights or flash cameras Enjoy!
Iur stay at Javqui and Terrie's property was fantastic. Calm, relaxing beaches, good snorkeling and a lovely 1960s era bungalow vibe. Exactly what my spouse and i were looking for from our babymoon. If you want more modern amenities like AaC you may want to look elsewhere, but if you want to relax with a great place and great hosts this is definitely the place to come. We will absolutely be coming back in the future with friends and family.
This is our top vacation destination. It’s our fifth stay. We love being able to cook our own meals in the well-furnished kitchen and then literally step outside to the beach. We could hear the waves from our bedroom. Sunrises are stunning. We saw sea turtles and seals on the beach. Host is very responsive and helpful. Snorkel gear is provided, and there’s often some nonperishable food in the pantry (coffee, oil, sugar, salt/pepper). We can’t wait to return.
The stay was everything we imagined and then some.
I had an encounter with a lady, who identified herself as the owner of the unit I booked. Her name was Teri. She was upset because my sister was smoking in a non smoking area (on the grass near the ocean wall) and was seen spitting on the grass.Teri very rudely said "she better not be smoking in my house" I assured her that she wasn't smoking inside, that is why she is smoking outside. She asked for my name (I think it was because I am local and she don't recall having a polynesian name on the application.) after telling her my name, she said something like, "if I find out she's been smoking upstairs... " I interupted her and assured her my sister did not and will not smoke in her place. I am a non-smoker, I wouldn't allow her to. She then asked "When are you leaving?" I wonder if she treats all her guests with such rudeness? This interaction was not necessary as the security guard already handled the situation prior to her intervening. There are no "No Smoking" signs posted anywhere and my sister was more than 20 feet away from the building. The property is beautiful, the view from our window of the ocean and the sunrise was so nice. You can hear the sound of the waves crashing on the shore at night. Its unfortunate that all that beauty can be cancelled by peoples ugly attitudes. I didn't want to stay after that encounter, but I already paid for it. My sister felt bad as it was unintentional. She is 65y/o walks with a cane and has mental illness.I Felt discriminated against.
We wanted somewhere to stay on the north shore that would feel more local and be near the ocean. This little condo delivered. When they say ocean views they aren’t kidding. The beach was 20 feet from the windows! The unit was clean, provided all necessary amenities, comfortable beds, embraced the beach vibe, and what a view! My boys loved that there were twin needs so they didn’t have to share a bed. Super happy with the stay, would definitely book again.
Terrie is such a warm and welcoming host, treats you like Ohana. Excellent location and very nicely supplied with everything you need. Just bring your Aloha spirit and you will enjoy immensely. Walk out the door and in just a few steps and you’re standing in the sand. The views, including the sunrises are incredible. Mellow waves, swimming is easy. Reserved parking, security guards 24/7, laundry rooms, etc. We will be back for sure, mahalo
Clean property. Right on the beach
Great location, nice beach, very clean comfortable room. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5: Cable TV did not work, (ROKU worked, so not a huge deal) and construction on the large hive hotel was a bit annoying. Would stay here again after construction is complete, though.
Loved being right on the beach!! Quiet, relaxing and felt like our own private beach at times. Lots of sea turtles!! Great location and the cottage was clean.
Clean and cozy on an amazing beach
We stayed here three nights! It was a perfect stay. We enjoyed going to the beach daily and saw sea turtles every morning! The sea turtles like to swim within the vicinity! Beautiful morning views and sound of waves was perfect! Thank you for a wonderful stay!
This place is in a perfect location, right on the beach and close to Jurassic park ranch. The place itself is a little outdated and needs some renovation in my opinion. Everything else was great.
This place is not for everyone. The positives: 1. The view from the unit is amazing. 2. The ocean breeze at night and the sound of the waves were excellent. 3. Having the beach so close was great. 4. The unit itself was clean. It had everything you needed The negatives: 1. The building and unit are old and not kept up. Other reviews give specifics. 2. There was loud construction which according to prior reviews has been going on for years. 3. It is very hot without AC. 4. The big windows allow guests in the units next to you to see everything you are doing. If you close curtains for privacy then you get very hot! 5. It was VERY noisy! With windows open you hear noise from surrounding units 6. Jacqui was passive aggressive. I sent a message about the lack of privacy, the heat and bright outdoor lights that were shining into the bedroom window. She sent a response saying that we were the first guests in 15 years who complained--we read prior reviews about privacy so we weren't. She then showed up at the Unit at 9am unannounced, and when i asked about the outside lights shining in the bedroom she said they cant be turned off for security and are only on 7pm til 7am. This also was not true...They were on 24/7 until another guest complained then they were out 24/7. She offered black out curtains and another fan but that wouldn't help. If you are fine with a run-down noisy very hot beach house right on the beach with amazing views and a nice ocean breeze then you will love it.
Overall the stay was great:
We were lucky enough to stay in this exceptionally clean, very nicely decorated and amazingly located condo for 4 nights in August 2024. From the view, the basically private beach to the turtles who appear in the evening and leave at sunrise, the trip could not have been better!! We were not interested in the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. We wanted to be able to go there but not stay there and we are so grateful we made that decision and we’re lucky enough to stay here..
We had a great visit! View, breeze, ocean sounds make for a perfect visit away from the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. Very clean, nice outdoor/beach area.
We enjoyed staying in this cottage! It’s cozy and right on the beach. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, this is a great option. It’s on the second level of the cottage, great ocean breeze, and we truly enjoyed seeing the sea turtles come up on the beach during the day to sun and at night to sleep. It’s a bit of a drive if you’re wanting to do anything in the Waikiki area, but if you’re interested in the North Shore, Polynesian Cultural center, Waimea Falls, Kailua, etc this is a great location. There is a grocery store nearby, and the cottage had pots, pans, dishes, etc you’re interested in cooking some of your meals there. Laundry supplies were provided for the shared laundry space. The only negative was the cramped parking spot. It is a challenge to park if you have a full size rental or larger. We would stay here again if we visit the island in the future.
We were a little apprehensive when we first pulled into our assigned parking space, but once we got inside, we were pleasantly surprised at how really lovely it was. Wonderful seaside decor, very clean and comfortable with everything you would need to enjoy the beach right outside your window. The breeze and the sound of the ocean while resting in bed was perfect after a long day of adventure. Mahalo
What a dream location! It was our first trip to Hawaii. There’s no better place stay! The location is ideal, if you want to stay in the peace and quiet of the North Shore. The Hukilau Marketplace is less than 10 minutes down the road with some great food trucks. The beach is beautiful and quiet. Often we had the beach to ourselves! The best part is falling asleep to the crashing waves and the breeze of the cool trade winds.
beautiful spot with amazing view from the picture window. Had some questions and Terrie as very responsive. The area is very beautiful. Enjoyed being steps from the beach and even had some turtle sightings. We were very satisfied with our room.
We loved staying at this amazing place. Being right next to the beach was perfect. We snorkeled with the sea turtles and a few fish. The location was great for the activities we planned. Thank you for a great stay!
My husband and I stayed here for four night at the very start of our two weeks on the Hawaiian islands for our 30th anniversary! It was shabby chic! Small, simple and very cozy, we had everything we needed! The best part was listening to the waves at night and getting up really early to see the sunrise and watch the turtles make their way back to the sea from the under the bushes where they slept at the edge of the beach! Such a beautiful spot! The manager gave us very detailed instructions so check in and out was easy! Thank you Terry!!!
I wanted to take my wife to Hawaii for our 25th anniversary. I used to live on the island when I was a kid, this was my first time back. We stayed for two weeks and visited many great sites. We loved seeing turtles on the beach every day and night. The unit was well maintained although I would suggest making the front door jam stronger. All in all we had a spectacular trip. Would definitely recommend!!
This property was right on the beach. Our front window overlooked the ocean. The beach is protected by the reef and we snorkeled, watch the turtles swim, and walked along the beach. Great location. The property had all of the amenities that we needed. We ate at the local restaurants and came back with tons of leftovers to heat up for the next day. The nice kitchen was available if we needed to cook more. We loved listening to the distant waves crash on the reef to fall asleep to. The host was always available to answer and questions. Overall, great location and relaxing stay.
Very clean, very quiet. Right on ocean with nice beach. Saw turtles on beach each night
Great view Great to see so many sea turtles Kitchen light was out, no a/c Worth it!
This was a beautiful property. The house was better than expected and had more than we needed. Inside was cute and relaxing. The process to check in was great.
The property is nice, but under a lot of construction. Nothing that was disturbing or anything, just lots of potholes in the parking lot, scaffolding around the parking space making it a tight squeeze when coming and going. The beach is breathtaking and amazing to walk on. The sea turtles come up at night which was really awesome to see. The interior of the room was the biggest issue. Bed was uncomfortable. There were ants that we were constantly squishing. The fan above the bed malfunctioned a few times. The TV turned itself on and off which was weird. The bathroom is dark, and the door doesn't close all the way. The liquid hand soap in the vanity area was watered down instead of just being replaced. We washed our hands with Dawn dish soap mostly. We had to buy toilet paper and paper towels when we ran out. It just didn't seem very well cared for, and the pictures make it look nicer than it is.
