The kitchen is modern and user friendly with a gas range and most items needed to create a multi course meal The primary bedroom has a tiled full bath. The second full tiled bath is convenient to the other bedrooms. There are vaulted ceilings throughout and the loft provides extra space for last minute guests or older kids but is not recommended for younger children. Everything was wonderful. It was a beautiful home. We enjoyed our stay there.
Lovely house! Great layout! We lost the internet, the owner Jane responded immediately. It came back on the next day.2 things though: when booking, it isn’t made clear that the property is all on the (UK) 1st floor (US) 2nd floor, it’s quite a big staircase. The TV is old and useless. We manage once to get one channel. Jane buy a new TV and provide a crib sheet on how to operate it.
The house was under ten minutes away from the quaint Hanalei. The cedar all over the home gives off a great vibe of old Hawaii. We will definitely rent again when we come back.
The HVH home’s pictures do not do it justice; the inside of the home is beautiful! There is plenty of space for a large family, though you probably only want to use the loft space for older kids that can handle ladder type stairs to avoid a potential fall. Without the loft space, we had plenty of space for our three kids and three adults (we thankfully had brought air mattresses for two of the little kids). The kitchen is a good size and well equipped to allow for home cooking. There were even spices and condiments! Ms. Jane provided beach chairs, towels, body boards, snorkels and toys for the kids! And when our trip was ending, we had laundry amenities, including soap. The care taker was so kind and made sure we had all we needed, and Ms. Jane sends directions for her home via the mail, which is appreciated, even in this day and age, since sometimes cell service is spotty on the island. We loved our stay at HVH and hope to return soon!
The house was very charming and the perfect location for all we did. The views from the deck were stunning. Perfect place for morning coffee and to watch the birds. Communication with the owner was very good. I would stay at this house again. Close to the beach, restaurants, food trucks and shopping.
This house was large, charming, clean, and so comfortable for me and my family. The high, beamed ceilings and many windows made it feel spacious and bright. The highlight was the wrap-around porch with stunning views of Hanalei Bay, mountains, and lush, tropical foliage. I would 100% recommend this house!
We loved Jane's home and had a great stay. The house looks just like the pictures. It has wonderful charm and character, and great decor with the pictures, artwork and old furniture pieces. The kitchen is well stocked with equipment and utensils.Best of all was the outdoor deck that we spent a lot of time on enjoying the beautiful trees, bushes and incredible views, and watching/listening to the birds. And no chickens :)We liked the location about a mile west of Princeville and about 3 miles east of Hanalei, which made it convenient to visit both towns. It is close to the main street which makes access convenient and we didn't notice any excessive traffic noise, but you do need to be careful going in and out of the drive, and the first time you arrive it is a little tricky to make the correct turn.Jane's directions are precise and if you follow them you will find the house without a problem.Communication with Jane was good and we'd love to return some day to this beautiful place.
We loved this property! The home and decor were very Old Hawaii style. The home is spacious and clean, and the wrap-around lanai is awesome. The bed and other furniture were very comfortable. We loved sitting on the lanai and listening to the birds sing. There was a grocery store and other shopping nearby. Our favorite meal was at the Kilauea Fish Market - the fresh fish plate was delicious! The Limahuli Garden & Preserve was beautiful. Mahalo, Jane, for sharing your beautiful home!!
My husband & I had a great 5 night stay at the Vista House. It felt like home. All instructions were very clear, we didn't have a single issue. The owner was wonderful to chat with prior to arriving. Comfy bed. Well stocked kitchen. The bathrooms were dated, but we would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful and spacious living space, and the view from the veranda was to die for. The host was very responsive to questions. The highway noise that others had warned me about was not at all a problem, but there were some very loud noisy dogs that woke us up every morning- not the host 's problem. I would stay again in a flash, and the price was very reasonable. I'm fact, Kauai is so easy to get around I would base the while trip here.
Beautiful place. Loved the antique. TV did not work. Soap and shampoo is normally supplied, there was none.
This property provided everything you need in the kitchen for cooking, etc. some things like shampoo, etc. were not in shower but under sink so we purchased our own upon not seeing it in the bathrooms. Definitely a lot of antique type furniture so we basically lived out of our suitcases rather than trying to open the dresser, drawers or anything. Very clean and spacious. I was under the impression that it was a little more private as the pictures did not show the house right next-door that shares the driveway. The traffic can be noisy at night as it is right off of the road. And the neighbor’s dogs barked a lot into the evening. The porch area is beautiful and table outside is nice for sitting. Can be hot even with the fans on, but we are from Alaska so used to a little cooler temperatures. Overall a nice place to stay and plenty of room. The washer and dryer are not in the unit, but are downstairs in the covered parking area under the house. There was laundry soap available, which was nice.
Lovely, spacious house with incredible views. The kitchen setup allowed us to create some delicious meals. Very much enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommend.
We gathered for a short 4 day catch up before heading to Maui for a global event. The accomodation was perfect, spacious and clean.Highly recommend your place to others, I hope to return one day.
Beautiful space. Better than photos. All the wood & tile & natural light made for an exemplary home. We were so happy.
Wonderful days near hanalei beach and walking distance to princeville mall. the house is wonderful and has really good vibes. .
Perfect location for North shore activities. It’s literally only 1.5 miles from Hanalei, which is my favorite place to be. Close to Tunnels also for great snorkeling. The house is very well stocked with everything you might need. Beach chairs, beach towels, mask & snorkels & water shoes. The kitchen has everything you’ll need. Just bring the food. Would definitely stay here again.
Loved the place! Everything was included as well! (Sister said an extra fan would help the summer heat) Would definitely recommend!!!
This property was exactly as pictured and we enjoyed our stay here very much. The location was great and the house was very clean and comfortable. It was right off a busy road and there was some road noise but it didn't last all night and didn't bother us. This property does not have A/C which was an oversight on my part to review but there was a nice cross-breeze which meant we had to leave the patio doors open (and they didn't lock which was somewhat alarming (at night) for those of us that lock our doors 24/7). Also, not a deal breaker but it was annoying there was no dishwasher detergent (kitchen)or hand soap (kitchen and both bathrooms). A big plus there was washer/dryer (there was detergent pods for that but I had brought my own for that!)
Wonderful place to stay! Highly recommend!
A charming house surrounded by luxuriant nature
Loved everything except the traffic noise but overall a very nice place to stay.
We absolutely loved the serenity of the home. So warm and welcoming. We always prefer a cozy more traditional Hawaiian home than a new ridiculous over priced house! Home had all amenities needed. Very warm welcoming and obviously decorated with love. Beautiful antique pieces of furniture were a beautiful. Layout was great and so much privacy. The lush landscape and surrounding lanai were perfect for relaxing and watching the sunset! Very family friendly! Owner extremely nice and very easy to communicate with! Thanks for sharing your home with us! We truly enjoyed our week stay and would definitely return! The Woowards from Texas!
Hanalei Vista House is such a gem! The location is fantastic — with stunning views of the garden and water/mountains. Jane is a wonderful host — great communication and very helpful with all questions. We were thrilled the second we walked in the door. It’s so comfortable and homey. We loved sitting on the deck for coffee in the morning and cocktails in the evening. We are anxious to return to Kauai and Hanalei Vista House.
We loved our stay here. Plenty of room for a group of 5 and lovely views!
We had a wonderful stay here. The kids loved the Secret Hideout bedroom. It had a beautiful view and was close to everything we wanted to do.
This is a gem of a property, with an amazing view, nestled in a beautiful garden. The house is well appointed with everything we needed and the host provided flawless communication start to finish. 5-star!
Myself and 3 of my girlfriends booked this house for our stay on Kauai. The home sits on the hillside facing Hanalei Bay and is about 2 miles from downtown Hanalei. There is a beautiful garden and Mountain view from the large deck and living room/kitchen area. 3 good sized bedrooms and the loft has 2 single beds as well. There is also a large comfy couch. I found nothing to be misrepresented in the VBRO listing for this home. Things that I felt should have been mentioned based on experiences during our stay: The home is right on the main road and you will hear road noise from the home and the deck. It is quiet at night. It is also very near the fire station and we did hear activity related to storms in January. We were unsure during our stay but it appears someone may be living in a separate unit under the house. We did not see or hear them. The one garbage can provided was being used by a neighbor? The can was emptied our first day there and when we were checking out the can was half full of someone else’s garbage. As a result we did not have enough room for our garbage. No recycle can is provided and I am unsure if Kauai has a recycle program. We had a fabulous stay on Kauai and loved this home. None of the items listed above cramped our style but I can see how not knowing about them could be an issue for some folks. Bonus items: Beach toys, towels, sunscreen, and aloe were found in the home. The kitchen is well stocked to cook many meals. I would definitely stay here again
