Surrounded by the peace and quiet of our neighborhood, relax on our back lanai to discover the beauty and splendor of the North Shore of Kauai. Hanalei features lush valleys and mountains with cascading waterfalls as well as picturesque Hanalei Bay and historic Hanalei Pier.
Hanalei Bay is a stunning two-mile stretch of white, sandy beach, where whales and dolphins can be seen. You can witness a magnificent rainbow during a sunset stroll or picnic on the beach. During the summer season, the Bay offers kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, and seemingly endless sunshine, while the winter season is famous for its powerful and breathtaking surf.
Browse through quaint Hanalei town, with its various specialty shops and art galleries. You can also sample a variety of our 'local' foods and talents at the many eateries Hanalei Town has to offer. Visit the world-famous Hanalei Valley, a US Fish and Wildlife Refuge - home to many species of birds, some endangered, as well as being the largest area of taro grown in the state of Hawaii.
There are so many things to see and do on Kauai. The west side features Koke'e State Park and Waimea Canyon (the 'Grand Canyon of the Pacific'). The South Shore boasts the Spouting Horn and the Tunnel of Trees. On the east side, there is the Wailua River and the lush, fern-covered cavern of the Fern Grotto. The North Shore's majestic cliffs of the Na Pali Coast and numerous beaches for snorkeling and surfing all waiting to be discovered. Fantastic location! Older property rental type.The house just needs a minor update. The curtains and curtain rails.Cathy made us a lovely banana bread and supplied a bowl of local fruits.
Cathy and Glenn’s home was everything we hoped for and more. We loved this home, it was spacious and in an absolutely fantastic location - walking distance from both Hanalei beach and also the town with amazing food trucks and groceries and two farmers markets! Cathy and Glenn were lovely and responsive hosts. If we are lucky enough to return to Kauai, we hope to be able to stay here again.
We love staying at this house. The hosts are so accomodating and very sweet. It is so convenient to the beach and the town. We hardly used our car.
This was our 3rd time staying at Glenn and Cathy’s place and they are wonderful hosts. We’re already booked for next summer. It’s that great! The house is perfectly located between Hanalei Bay and town. Highly recommend!

I stayed here for 11 days with my wife and her sister. The photos of the property don't do it justice and the location is great for all things Hanalei. Everything we needed for our vacation was already here. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the cookware I needed and more. Plenty of beach gear was available for use and its just a couple minutes walk to the beautiful waterline. I met and spoke with Glen a few times and he was very welcoming and friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book it again.

The location can’t be beat! It was great to have the outdoor shower & beach equipment. I have nothing bad to say. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to our next visit.

Cathy and Glen are amazing hosts! This is our second time staying at their home in Hanalei and it is the perfect location. Our teens loved it because they were able to get a walking head start to the beach or town. We love it so much that we are already booked for 2025!
Our stay was comfortable in every way. We have stayed in many rentals over the years- this house was our favorite- comfy, great air flow, and quiet neighborhood. We will come again with our grandchildren.
