Hanalei Bay Resort 73012 offers gorgeous views of the Pacific Ocean and Mt. Makana (Bali Hai)! This is an air-conditioned, combination condo. There is also a loft above the living area that has two full beds making this the perfect spot for older children and young adults and offering them their own space away from the adults. A washer/dryer in the condo add to the convenience for families. There are three lanais, adjacent to each bedroom and the living room, all offering views of tropical sunsets and cooling ocean breezes. The well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher makes enjoying home-cooked meals easier thanks to all the incredible appliances available.
Hanalei Bay Resort is one of the premier properties on Kauai. Nestled into the beautiful coastline of Kauai’s north shore and built on 22 acres, this resort abounds with lush tropical foliage, amazing views of lush green mountain ranges, waterfalls, tropical sunsets, and the beautiful blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. Overlooking Hanalei Bay, with views of Mount Makana (Bali Hai), and steps from a white-sand beach located below the resort are just some of the things that you will enjoy while staying at Hanalei Bay Resort. This is a tropical property that reflects all that is Kauai!
Originally built as a tennis resort, it still features some of the finest tennis facilities on the island. You will enjoy access to eight tennis courts, a Tennis Pro Shop, a front desk, bell and shuttle service, and the Activity Hut where beach gear can be rented easily. The resort also features a lagoon-style saltwater pool designed for family fun, as well as a quieter, smaller pool for those looking for something a little more relaxing! Hanalei Bay Resort is also in close proximity to many North Shore attractions, shopping, and two of Kauai’s best golf courses.

Don't rent from Vacasa. Ever. We had extreme issues with termites in our condo. They were crawling on us under the sheets each night, crawling on the sofa and collecting in the corners of the room by the hundreds. I completely accept a few bugs when visiting a tropical location, but this was next level disgusting. I got no response from the property manager or VRBO despite countless attempts. The resort manager even tried reaching Vacasa. Nothing. A full week and absolutely zero contact with a human at Vacasa. Just don't do it.
Wonderful grounds, know that this condo is pretty far from parking. This makes it incredibly quiet! The resort has golf carts to pick you (and all your luggage) up and drop you off and are open 24/7. The pictures are representative of the property. Top floor with gorgeous views!
The communication was helpful- between the resort and the property management. It is not for those that have mobility issues. Parking is a bit if a walk although you can call the resort for a ride. You are on the 3rd floor of the building and there is no elevator. The beach is a lengthy walk and steep incline again you could call the resort for a ride but it is not speedy and you’ll be waiting a bit. The unit, it’s a little dated and could use some tlc. Vents in the bathroom were caked with dust and grime. The carpet could use a shampoo. I had thought the upper loft “bedroom” faced a window but it is windowless. The unit is I guess sometimes rented as a room because the master has doors separating the kitchen and most of the closet is taken up with a makeshift coffee bar and then cleaning products and a large basket not room for your luggage and personal items to be stowed. My biggest disappointment is the toilet paper situation. If you stay more than 2days you must purchase your own. We were a group of 4, 3 of which are women and we had just a touch over 2rolls provided for a 6 day stay. Seems petty to be so chintzy with TP. The view is amazing and that made it fantastic. The unit is part of the hanalei bay resort which is also a little tired but it seems they are in the process of bouncing back from covid.
These units are connected and located on the third floor (no elevator). It has great views and good air conditioning in the two bedrooms. The living area and loft get pretty warm. I would not recommend this unit or resort if you have mobility issues. We were traveling with an infant and found this unit to be challenging to get to from the parking lot with a stroller. Overall the room was acceptable and clean, but dated and well worn.
