Beautiful views, clean cute thoughtful spacious home. Hosts were kind and I enjoyed chatting with them. I do think it’s worth mentioning that host’s kitchen directly connects to your living space, separated by only a thin blind, so it felt less private than expected. It was fine for me as I was only staying one night, but maybe awkward for some. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again!
We stayed here on 12/31/25 and were absolutely blown away by the experience. The views were incredible, and being able to watch fireworks light up the island from the property was truly unforgettable. The upper observation deck was a highlight. It was perfect for stargazing and taking in the peaceful surroundings. The host couple was incredibly kind and welcoming, and Steve was especially responsive and helpful in all communications leading up to our stay. Everything about the experience exceeded our expectations, and we would happily stay here again. Highly recommend.
Easy booking, great communication throughout, bird’s eye view up to Heleakala and down to the coast depending on which rooftop perch you take. VERY comfortable accommodations with lovely hosts. Their recommendation of Kula Bistro close by was spot on for two hungry travelers after driving the beautiful southern route from Hana. A perfect ending for our last night in Maui!
The location of this home is perfect for Upcountry! Wish we had chosen to stay there another night or 2 as it’s also very convenient to the things we did in Paia. The area is gorgeous! The home sits on the side of the mountain with a gorgeous East and West view! The hosts were amazing as well!
This unique home is the perfect getaway for anyone interested in getting away from it all, and or for needing easy access to the national park. Beautifully decorated, perfect for sunrise or sunset views of the island. Hosts are amazing, room is so very comfortable, and home is very welcoming! Highly recommend staying here!!!
Great stay and hosts!
Super comfortable, friendly unique home with three levels of amazing 360 degree views. I would love to come back anytime! Steve and Diane are very hospitable and friendly. The location can’t be beat.
Check in was super simple. Steve communicated three days before and gave us all kinds of tips for property t local flavor. The views the bed the furniture the bath were great. The coffee bar oh my now my wife wants a coffee bar. Front door private parking. Two outdoor patios one to view the sunsets and one to view the sunrise were great.
We feel really lucky to have found this location in Upcountry Kula. The lanais provided excellent viewing of both Haleakala and the West Maui mountains. Cool nights and ease of access to all of the surrounding towns and sightseeing opportunities made this a most enjoyable visit for us. To top it off, Steve and Diane were the most wonderful hosts as well as a wealth of information for all things Maui. We would absolutely stay with them again given the opportunity.
We stayed here 2 nights and the property was amazing. the bed was comfy and the listing was spacious. As locals who were staying on our wedding night, we appreciated the quiet neighborhood and stunning views. As someone who has been a host & in the hospitality industry, I was surprised to see the doorways between the main house (host) and our place, was separated by a thin plastic waffle pull out door. We had met Steve and his wife, who were helpful checking in, and it didnt end up being a problem for us. We appreciated the double lanais and gorgeous mountain and valley views. Would definitely stay again!
Everything about this place was wonderful. The location was quiet and beautiful - a perfect place to relax after long days of seeing all the Maui sites. We loved the view looking out over the island. We even stayed at the BnB for an entire evening, which we never do because usually our lodgings aren't that exciting. It's also fairly close to Haleakala, for any other National Park fans like us.The hosts were also great. They were inviting and lovely to talk to, and they made sure we had everything we needed. Truly a great place. We were very happy with everything.
Beautiful home, beautiful views of the island coasts and great place for access the Haleakala Sunrise. The hosts were outstanding, with great recommendations about the island. Every amenity was provided and we really appreciated that hospitality. This is a great stay and we would return again!
My husband and I loved staying at this spot. The property owners were great about communication and very easy to work with. This is more than a room. You have a large downstairs area to relax or dine with so many windows. Upstairs, the bedroom is comfortable but it does have sloping ceilings as a warning for tall people. We had no issue. Nice bathroom with a heated toilet seat, which now I need for home! Gorgeous views out the second floor balconies - one facing the ocean and mid island views, the other facing Haleakala. Loved staying in a quieter part of Maui. Simply beautiful.
All the comforts of home in a tropical paradise.
Peaceful, quiet retreat in cool upcountry. Beautiful pasture on one side, ocean views on the main side deck. Super comfortable bed, cool mountain breezes. Comfortable couch, and overall stay. Friendly and wonderful hosts, sparkling clean and stylish furnishings.
We really liked the owners and the place. The only down side of the place was that there was a lot of noise during the night:( it was very hard to sleep. I am not sure what the noise was, but I think it was like animal or something.
Steve and Diane are the perfect hosts! Very responsive. Kula was an excellent choice for us. The nights are cool, the days moderate, the area lusher than down by Kihei. Good access to Haleakala and the adventure of driving over to Hana. All in all the perfect spot!
Location of this property is excellent for folks interested in being close to Haleakala summit. Convenient access to drive up to the summit for sunrise! Property has excellent views of the island for sunrise and sunset. Host family is very helpful. We really enjoyed our one night stay and highly recommend it.
We were here for the sunrise but got to enjoy both sunset and sunrise directly from the lanai ! Wildfire prevent us from going to the back , still we very much enjoyed our stay ! Recommend stopping at Foodland for some Poke or sushi and eating it from the view of this beautiful home ! That’s what we did !
Was a great space... would have preferred if the entire space was ours and private, but that's a matter of personal preference (and we knew how it was setup when renting).
Steve and Denise are wonderful hosts, have put a lot of thought into making sure guests have everything they need and there are many artful finishing touches. The views from the porches front and back are spectacular. My wife loves mountains--this was another way to experience Maui!
Great property and location for driving to the the summit of Haleakala to see the sunrise. Loved the decks to view the sunset and environs. Gracious hosts who suggested local sights and restaurants
We were up and out early both days after having breakfast on the upper deck and ending the day with our glass of wine on the same deck. So peaceful and relaxing! The views are spectacular! If ever back in this area again, I would definitely come here to stay.
This incredible slice of paradise that Steve and Diane have created is amazing. It's a multidimensional retreat with living room on the bottom, loft at top, with two very different balconies: one facing east the upward slope, the other, larger and facing west down the slope. The larger one I set a portable smart telescope on which had a decent southerly and west view of nicely dark skies. In two weeks, Janet and I stayed in 7 different places, and Steve&Diane's place is the best! We'll definitely be back.
Excellent all around!
Beautiful home and property in a quiet setting convenient to Haleakala National Park. Great views from a private balcony. Hosts are extremely kind and accommodating and offered great advice for dining and activities. Highly recommend!
Very beautiful accommodations in a beautiful neighborhood. Stunning views looking across Maui
The property was great, perfect location to visit Haleakala National Park. There were plenty of unique shops and restaurants around Kula and in neighboring Makawao and Pukalani. If you’re looking for an incredible sunset view on Maui, this is the place to stay. The view from the lanai on the second floor and the rooftop balcony is stunning. You see almost the entire island with Haleakala directly behind you. The hosts, Steve and Diane, were friendly and helpful. We had a bit of an issue with the door lock not accepting our code but Steve and Diane were quick to rectify it. They were very welcoming and made our stay very enjoyable.
Nice hidden gem with 360 degree views. Such a beautiful place.
Great view practically the entire nortwest of Maui. Steve and Diane are great hosts.
