The view is fantastic which is pretty much what this owner has banked on. The building is rather run down and the unit needs a LOT of upgrades and normally I would just let this go and not mention it but I've been to Maui many times and stayed in a lot of places and he's asking waaay too much if he's not even willing to make some simple upgrades. Here's the list of what needs upgrading;Not enough working fans. There's no AC BUT AT LEAST have fans that work. I had to keep placing the one good fan either in the bedroom or living area because we found two broken fans in the master.BEDROOM ISSUE!!! The master bedroom is right next to the outside wall unit with the shutter windows that allow in a LOT of traffic noise. We were awakened many times by road noise, ppl honking and traffic. I could tell it's been an issue because there was a "white noise" maker placed in there.. again for the money they ask.. this shouldn't be an issue. We tried to roll out the sofa bed so we could sleep better but it's pretty small, old and rickety and UNCOMFORTABLE. TELEVISION DOES NOT WORK- we could only watch YouTube because that's all that we could get to work on this TV. I saw ppl complained in prior reviews about this and nothings been done still to fix this. The unit was overall kind of dingey , especially the bathroom. Old paint, teeny tiny tub and toilet stall. VERY outdated for his prices. We won't be back. For the money.. there's too many other nicer options!
I love how every single night the turtles come to stay and rest on the little private beach! Multiple turtles swim back and forth across the private beach. I was surprised how big the turtles were in real life! We cooked steaks outside on the BBQ. We enjoyed the room. It was in excellent shape. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. I have many pictures and videos from the balcony.
Thank you for another wonderful stay! The location cannot be beat. Wake up every morning to the sounds of ocean and see turtles swimming and whales from shore. It’s a true paradise! So much space and makes the whole vacation so special :)
Loved this condo and location Getting up in the morning yo loo outt at the ocean, see whales in the distance and enjoy the neauty of God,"s creation was the best! ,Would do it all over again.
The condo was in a great location. Close to restaurants, shops, etc. The bed was comfortable. The view from the balcony was beautiful and we were able to see a moon set.

Great place overall, amazing views with private beach. Bed is older and too soft for my liking but other than that excellent place.
Michael's property is lovely. Rainbows and whales constantly. And if it ever got chilly or window, sit on the couch or at the dining room table and you'll have same view.
Clean, easy parking
Hale Mahina is a very special place to many of the people who continue to come back year after year. The condo was excellent beyond measure. We watched whales breach every day from the lawn and enjoyed having no other plans. We feel so lucky to have found such a wonderful community through the years of staying here. What started as a quick visit turning into an engagement :) We can't wait to come back!
The property is wonderful! We loved the large living room and patio with unobstructed views of the ocean. We watched 3 turtles swim up onto the beach in front of the condo. This place is spectacular! Thank you Michael for letting us stay in your wonderful condo!
The oceanfront views from the lanai were amazing - we watched the whales and the sunsets everyday! We were so close to the ocean, loved falling asleep to the waves. The grass area and secluded beach were fantastic too, we even had turtles sunbathing some days!
