Hale Kokio: A Magical, Romantic Cottage, on North Shore Kauai #4212

My husband and I had a wonderful few days at Hale Kokio and only wish we could have stayed longer! We loved gathering fresh fruit from the trees on property, using the hot tub at the end of the day, and sitting on the lanai drinking coffee in the morning. The location is excellent for all activities on the North Shore. We will be back!

In the twenty years we've been visiting Kauai, this was by far the most relaxing vacation we've ever experienced on the island. What stood out most:Total privacy The outdoor shower and hot tub was a nice treat after long hikesThe house is clean and well equipped (we enjoyed the rice cooker)The location is perfect. Close to several beaches including rock quarry beachWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The host was responsive and super helpful! We will be returning.

The hosts were friendly and accommodating. The privacy and the natural setting were great.

We had a wonderful stay at Hale Kokio and would come back in a heartbeat. The property is very private and we really enjoyed exploring and eating fruit from all the trees. There was lots of wildlife to watch from the porch or inside. Although this was our favorite aspect of the rental, it was pretty buggy inside and out. If you don't enjoy insects, geckos, or wildlife, you probably will be a bit uncomfortable here. Perfect star watching at night. The location is excellent, not too far from anywhere on the island and close to stores, farmer markets, beaches, etc. The kitchen is well stocked and there is beach equipment for use. Great value for the property as well.

What a wonderful place to stay for our 25th Anniversary trip! The property was stunning with all the different types of plants and flowers. The local chickens were polite, fun to watch, and the roosters were pleasant alarm clocks. The location was perfect for getting to the North Shore or South Shore easily and the property was very private. Rob was great to work with as we were arriving even though he was in another country. We will be back!

This was the perfect location and perfect cottage for our wedding trip! The grounds were beautiful, the location was in between a ton of beaches and close to the town of Kilauea. We absolutely loves the time we spent there.

We loved this place! The house is very private, with a huge yard. You really have the place to yourself. The jacuzzi was spotless and worked great. The AC and all appliances worked great too. The place was spotless. The large patio worked great for morning breakfasts. The bed was comfy too. The neighborhood and surrounding area is stunning. We hope to stay again sometime.

We had such an amazing stay, perfectly cozy and relaxing. The location was close enough to grocery, restaurants, & beaches, and far enough away for privacy. The kitchen was stocked with all the necessities we needed for cooking. We enjoyed breakfast & coffee on the porch. There’s also the most incredible orange tree in the yard! We had THE BEST fresh squeezed juice everyday. Such a wonderful place! Thank you!

This was our second stay here. We honeymooned at this magical cottage 7 years ago. We absolutely love it! Our favorite feature is the large private deck with a hot tub. We also enjoyed walking the grounds and picking fresh fruit.

This is a wonderful place to stay to unwind. It's impossible to be here without totally relaxing and enjoy the peace tranquility of the property. The house is equipped with everything you will need. It's a ideal location to do day trips to explore this amazing island. Host is extremely helpful and made the the check in/out very simple.

This property is heavenly with fruit trees, flowers, palms and lots of friendly chickens. It's a great location that's quiet and private, yet a short distance to Kilauea, Hanalei and beautiful beaches. Our host Rob was helpful but not the least bit intrusive. The Hale is clean, airy and bright with a well-equipped kitchen and a lovely lanai. Perfect for a couple or single person.

We had a great stay. The private garden/park around the cottage exceeded expectations. The cottage was clean and well stocked. We appreciated having beach chairs and beach towels. It’s nice to be away from the tourist crowds but a very short drive from restaurants in Kilauea and fantastic beaches. Bring some earplugs because the roosters will crow around the clock (but I don’t think you can avoid that anywhere in Kauai).

Very clean, cozy cottage in a quiet neighborhood, close to nice shops and eateries. Well appointed and thoughtfully laid out. Great place to decompress after being inundated with tourists everywhere all day. More authentic Hawaiian experience being surrounded by 2 acres of lush gardens and fruit trees. We much prefer to be woken by the roosters crow and listen to the sounds of the rain and birds, etc. on the property, instead of resort accommodations.

Place is very well taken care of, and it’s completely secluded! We loved it and couldn’t think of a better place to spend our honeymoon.

The house nestled amongst tropical plants in a grassy yard, and that is surrounded by trees. It gives the feeling of seclusion and, for someone who was visiting for the first time, a veiw of the flora and fauna from the comforts of a deck or window. We were too caught up in enjoying the ambience to even jump in the hottub. Each night we would shutoff the lights and listen to the quiet chirping of the geckos. As we drifted off to sleep. Each morning the master bed was bathed in the golden light of the rising sun. Gentle rain would patter through the leaves and on the roof for a few minutes. It is a very relaxing environment, from walking the property with a cup of coffee and personable chickens, to listening to the evening breeze through the trees. It was a very refreshing stay and we are very grateful for the hospitality.

The house, location and property are perfect way to celebrate my 60th birthday! The house is beautiful and very private, walk to the yard and get some fruit off the tree. My wife made friends with the chickens that are everywhere on Kauai. Talked with the neighbor Rob almost every day. Thinking about going back soon!

The home and property are beautiful. The cottage has windows all around bringing in the wind, sound of rain, bird song and all the rooster friends. Sitting on the lanai and soaking in the hot tub was lovely. We look forward to returning! Maholo and Aloha
