Very beautiful house in a fantastic location. The photos did not do it justice

The house exceeded our expectations. The finishes and quality of the house are the nicest we have ever experienced in a rental property. The owners were quick to respond to messages and very friendly. We would absolutely recommend this to any family looking for a place in Poipu.

Incredible Lanai & Location

The house was spectacular and perfect and the hosts had provided everything we might need, including all provisions for a day at the beach. We enjoyed spending time on the lanai every day and really liked the glass doors that allowed an expansive indoor/outdoor living space. It was especially great when we spent a rainy morning in, enjoying the rain and playing games. The rain chains are beautiful. We were so grateful to share such a lovely space.

This property was incredible! Location is fantastic. Everything about this home was even better than expected. It felt very private. We loved this home and hope to return!!! Also added bonus: so many chairs, snorkels, and two bikes!

This place is a gem. We loved that it was well stocked with everything you need to go to the beach (wagon, toys, towels, chairs, snorkel gear, umbrella), and is a short 3-5 min walk from Poipu beach. We also enjoyed sitting on the lanai every night and our children loved to watch the roosters. The kitchen is also very well stocked with everything you need. We will definitely stay here again.

Our fifth year at Hale Honu - always a beautiful time!

This house is perfectly located if you want to be at Poipu beach. The Lanai is outstanding. The kitchen is well equipped. The coffee pot could use an update. The furniture was comfortable both in and outside the house. The master shower was not user friendly. We all showered in the downstairs which was somewhat inconvenient. The host was exceptionally responsive to a minor house issue.

We loved our stay at this charming beach house! It was perfect for our family. The outside shower was fantastic. Love seeing all the chickens and their baby chicks in the backyard. The location is perfect and close to everything. The upstairs screened in balcony was a great place to watch the beautiful Kauai sunsets. We will definitely stay here again.

This place was clean and comfortable and great proximity to Poipu beach to see the turtles every day. Spent a lot of time on the lanai which was very private. Lots of roosters and chickens which you will find out are basically everywhere in Kauai and only added to the charm.

The location was perfect! Literally 3 minute walk to two beaches- boogie boards and snorkel gear provided. The house is beautiful, we especially enjoyed being able to open the huge glass doors to let the air breeze through the house. They thought of every detail. The outdoor shower is a nice touch. Lots of towels and beach towels. Washer and dryer both worked well. The key pad locks make it extremely convenient to head to the beach without worrying about the house key being stolen from our belongings while playing in the water. Feet wash stations at each door make it easy to keep the sand out of the house. Comfy couches and cute decor.I have a few minor things that future guests may want to note. The beds a very soft- which some people love!- but it left my body achy… The roosters are VERY loud in this location. Which may not be a problem for deep sleepers… we had to close the windows and turn the window A/C unit on, which was also very loud(maybe it needs to be serviced?) but the good thing was it drowned out the noise of the roosters! So it helped us sleep some.Overall this is an incredible house and location, fully equipped with everything you’ll need for an enjoyable stay.

This wasn’t our first time staying here and won’t be our last. We love this house and location and can’t wait to come back.

Fantastic house. Loved the outdoor shower. It’s the only one my family used our entire trip. It had everything we needed to have fun at the beaches.

2nd visit for us. This time we brought the mother in law and our niece. We had a great time and the home was a good home base for our adventures. Appreciate the added air conditioning in the bedrooms, it was hot for most of our stay. Appreciate the beach gear, coolers. Body boards and umbrellas the house has for use. I really appreciated Kevin helping us get the hot water turned back on, when the solar ran out of energy on a cloudy day.

The property is amazing and the location can’t be beat! We will definitely try and stay there again.

We were so happy to return to Hale Honu after two years and it was just as wonderful as we remembered! We had the most amazing time. Everything was perfect - the house, the location, the weather. We cannot wait to return! Thank you Cathy and Kevin!

Everything about our stay was perfect! The owners were always responsive, helpful and solved/answered any issues. The cottage was well furnished with everything we needed to make a relaxing vacation and the location was wonderful.

What a treat of a home to stay in! The location is superb, steps from Poipu and Brenneke. The home is also perfectly laid out with the best lanai and screened in porch upstairs. There is AC in both rooms but we never needed them in Dec as we just opened the windows (which all have intact screens!) to let the winds come in. The house is equipped with everything, especially in the garage - wagon, kids sand toys (be sure to look in the bins as we didn't see them and bought some!), chairs, umbrella, the best pop up tent, boogie boards, etc. Washer and dryer are wonderful and honestly the house is big and spacious. Outdoor shower was excellent and communication with owner was excellent. We tried to book for our next Christmas vacation but they were already booked since they are that popular )

This place is truly exceptional in every way possible. The location, the house, the outdoor shower, accessories that came with the rental and communication. We had the most amazing time at your place with our 19 and 17 year old kids. We felt at home and couldn’t have asked for a better place to spend our holiday. We will definitely be back. The house has everything you could want and the hosts have thought of everything. They were very accommodating also. The only bad part was having to leave!

Beautiful place right near the beach, loved everything about the house

This was our second stay in this home and it was perfect. The owners have done an amazing job making sure the house has everything you need from towels to sand toys even down to all the kitchen utensils. We always feel at home her due to the wonderful attention to detail. Can't wait to come back next year.

This is our fourth stay at Hale Honu and it continues to be our favorite place to stay in Poipu. Super relaxing. Has all the amenities. Great location. Never disappoints.

The house is fantastic, lots of comfortable spaces to lounge inside and out. We especially enjoyed watching the sunset from the sleeping porch. Would gladly stay here again.

This was the perfect home base for our Kaua’i adventures. Clean, bright, cozy and relaxing. Coffee in the morning on the back porch, ocean view sunsets upstairs, and a convenient outdoor shower. We take our time to pick winner VRBOs and this was another one. Thanks so much for an amazing stay.

This is a beautiful and very comfortable property for a party of four; probably too small for any more, however. The patio/deck is an excellent place to socialize and play cards in the evening, and it is a 10 minute walk to a fantastic beach. About our only criticism is that the garbage can was not taken out for pick up and the recyclables were not returned before our stay, so that the can was at least half full and the recycling bins were also half full. We also would have liked a little more extra toilet paper and paper towels. Otherwise, everything was great and we would definitely return again.

This house was absolutely perfect! Exactly as described and pictured, great location, and plentiful amenities. Perfect for our family of four, walked to the beach every day, the wagon and chairs along with boogie boards were greatly appreciated. We would absolutely stay here again, thank you for sharing your home with us!

We loved this home for our week on the island. Everything was great and as described. We appreciated the personal touches, cleanliness and proximity.

This is our family’s third return to Kauai and this home. It always provides us everything we need for a comfortable stay. Our hosts are communicative and the neighborhood in excellent location for all we desired to explore. We’re looking forward to returning again soon. Mahalo!

Cutest cottage with location location location!

Loved this place. The Lani makes the place huge and it comes with all the amenities/supplies you need including bikes, snorkel gear, umbrellas, lawn chairs, and even a nifty wagon to bring everything to the beach.

We stayed a week with 10-14 yr old kids and they loved this house so much! Had dual outdoor showers, outdoor beds, Sonos, TV in rooms, all amenities, washer/dryer in garage, surfbaords, wagon, snorkeling gear, balls, etc. Kitchen was stocked with much more than most VRBO's w/ shampoo/conditioner/wash/beach towels/chairs/earplugs for roosters :) Short drives to any activity around Kauai. Walking distance to Brennecke & Poipu Beach which offered boogie boarding, snorkeling in a cove or outside of it with oodles of sea turtles, watching 20-40 sea turtles sleep every night at Poipu beach, sea lions, etc. Walked to Puka Dog and Brenneckes for dinners/lunch and also went to upscale Keoki's which was only 2 min drive. The walks on the beach for sunrise/sunset were breathtaking as you can walk to all the beachside resorts in the area. You could catch a luau there, dine out or take surfing lessons(which we did). It was 20 minutes to Li'hue for Costco, groceries, Kalamaku luau at the Gaylords plantation, or malasadas at the Kauai Bakery and coffee. We shopped/dined in Koloa and loved the lobster roll at Kengi Burger-large burrito size type sushi roll..yummers. We hit Hanapepe (Lilo and Stich city) enroute to snorkeling at Salt Pond Beach and hiking Waimea and Ko'ke state park area. We did the river tubing at Kauai Backcountry Adventures. We loved the north side of the island too-hiked Haena State Park(need reservations months in advance), snorkeled Anini and hung in Hanalei

This was our second stay at this house and everything about it was perfect - the location is close to beaches (where we saw sea turtles every day!), it is well-equipped with everything you need for the beach and we loved the decor and furnishings too.
