Welcome to Hale Hina - The Home of the Hawaiian Goddess of Sunrises, Sunsets, Coral Reefs, and the Moon!
Our home is very special, and has many fabulous features and amenities, including the most important and maybe the most intangible one: Hale Hina is our vacation home too.
Why should that be important to you? Because we stay at Hale Hina three times a year, and when we visit we enjoy having a beautifully decorated, well appointed and excellently maintained home. Other vacation homes, left alone by their absentee owners to be managed by a 3rd party company, will never be given the same energy, love or attention as Hale Hina.
Featuring panoramic coastline views, an infinity pool, hot tub and a gourmet kitchen, our private residence, located in the gated and guarded Keauhou Estates community, in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii, is the epitome of ALOHA living.
Relax into the embrace of the Hawaiian Goddess, Hina, when you step into the grand entryway through etched glass doors depicting gorgeous Heliconia flowers and towering banana trees. Our custom 2661 square foot, three bedroom, three bath hale has everything you need for a peaceful, re-energizing, private tropical island vacation.
Upon entering the expansive great room, the cathedral ceilings create a vast sense of space. Curl up on the cushy crescent moon couch and watch your favorite Blu Ray movie on the 60” flat screen with surround sound, or listen to tunes through the integrated sound system. Let the captivating view lure you through the two giant pocket doors onto the covered lanai, as Hale Hina seamlessly connects the indoors to the outdoors.
Grill some freshly caught fish, local grass-fed beef, or your favorite veggies (picked up at the Keauhou Farmers Market) at the convenient outdoor kitchen. The lanai features ample covered dining space for six people and an outdoor seating area for cocktails and conversation. Afternoons melt away in this peaceful setting where you can unwind in the hot tub or the infinity pool and your privacy is protected by the tropical landscaping and lava rock terracing.
The gourmet indoor kitchen is a chef’s dream with granite counters, cherry cabinets and all the tools you need to make a simple meal or an epicurean delight.
The spacious master suite features a California king size bed, walk-in closet and large pocket doors that open to the lanai --revealing the soothing ocean views. Slide between the soft cool sheets after an evening soak in the hot tub, located just outside the bedroom. Unlike hotels and condos, Hale Hina’s pool and hot tub don’t have a closing time! The master bath includes a walk through marble shower concealed behind a glass etched ocean scene, Jacuzzi bathtub, a long granite counter with two sinks and a separate room with a comfort height toilet.
The second master suite includes a California king bed, a queen size Murphy bed, its own spacious bathroom with double sinks, comfort height toilet, a walk in shower with grab bar, and outside access through a sliding glass door with a path to the pool area.
The third bedroom offers a queen bed and a convertible over-sized chair that cleverly disguises a regular twin mattress. A rainforest marble shower and travertine floors complete the guest bath located just down the hall.
Let the ocean breezes carry away your stress while you watch the whales and surfers frolic off the coast during the day. Marvel in the beauty of a perfect sunset as the stars begin to ignite the sky and you watch Hina weave her moonlight magic.

We had a great stay at Hale Hina. Very spacious for 3 couples visiting. Everything was clean, orderly, and straightforward. We had no issues or questions come up. We had a great view in a peaceful neighborhood.

Wonderful place to stay with a stunning view
Amazing stay!!! The house is phenomenal! The pool overlooks the ocean with amazing views and sunset is spectacular. The owners and housekeeper are also amazing. They are great people. We got caught up in a tsunami warning and our flight got canceled and they were very kind and accommodating letting us stay an extra night. Which was extremely kind of them as we had nowhere to go. Would recommend 10 out of 10.
I enjoyed looking out over the ocean every morning, afternoon, and evening. We had a phenomenal view. I was truly able to unwind and relax. At a hotel, it can be challenging to take your kids to the pool. We simply walked out to the lanai, where we spent the majority of our time anyway. Our kids had the best time in the pool - gave them something to do every day so we could stay at a relaxed pace. Our weather was delightful, which made it amazing as well. We got to really enjoy and relax.Couldn't have had a better trip

This house was perfect for our 13 day stay. It is close to everything we wanted to do and the outdoor pool and deck were wonderful for relaxing after day trips and sunsets. Considered day trips to other islands but never felt the need to. More than enough to do on the Big Island for at least 2 to 3 weeks. Many Highlights but the Manta Ray trip was probably the best. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Comfortable beds, great pool, fantastic views and close to shops and restaurants. Check in was super easy. Ute, the property manager, had the extra bed ready for our arrival & corrected the 1 issue we alerted her to immediately when we let her know about it. A perfect stay as far as we're concerned.
This was our first time to Hawaii!! We loved the house and the location. Very easy drive to all the places we wanted to visit. We had 5 adults staying at the house and we had plenty of room to relax and enjoy fun evenings. The pool and views are priceless.

Hale Hina wowed us from the moment we walked in! The home is immaculate, beautiful, and comfortable inside and out. It had everything we needed and was the perfect place for a family vacation to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and lanai and the close proximity to great restaurants and Kona attractions. We appreciated all of the guide books and information at the home. We all commented that Hale Hina sure sets the bar high for all of the other VRBOs! Thanks for sharing your slice of paradise with us!
While the photos on VRBO made this property look great, I know from past experience that sometimes looks can be deceiving. Such is not the case with this listing! It is so much more than the pictures can properly show. Not only is it beautiful but it was spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated throughout. But even better was how well stocked the home was. No need to worry that the kitchen might not have everything you need. It’s got absolutely everything and more. We were so in love with this location that we found we were content to stay and just enjoy the pool and spa instead of fighting the traffic on Alii Drive to try to get to town. We have been to Kona many times so it was truly a vacation and not a sight seeing trip. Staying at the home was so relaxing without a care in the world. We did use the owners extensive manuals on how to operate the top of the line kitchen appliances and also for recommendations of local places to eat that they enjoy when they are there. I wouldn’t hesitate to book this location in the future. The price was more than we usually pay but I think for an excellent vacation it was well worth the money.
Hale Hine was a beautiful and relaxing getaway. We enjoyed all the sites and attractions the Big Island had to offer then returned to an amazing place to watch the spectacular sunsets. We would highly recommend Hale Hine! Ute was an amazing Island hostess!
