This property has the best location imaginable. The view out the front looking at Brenneke's Beach is exceptional and close up. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay.Yes, there were minor issues but almost insignificant. Want a good time? This is the place!

We stayed here for a week to celebrate my 50th birthday with family, and the location is absolutely incredible. You can be on the sand within seconds, and we watched sea turtles in the waves from the windows almost every day. The oceanfront living area, kitchen, screened lanai, pool, and hot tub were all wonderful. The bedrooms stayed cool, and the home was well stocked with kitchen items. Everyone in our group was blown away by the views and proximity to the beach.That said, there were a few issues. Communication with the owner was somewhat delayed, although he did eventually respond. We were told additional toilet paper and paper towels would be delivered, but only the toilet paper arrived.There was also a strong foul odor coming from the washer/dryer area, which may explain the numerous plug in air fresheners throughout the house. In addition, the washing machine did not seem to clean clothes properly, as clothes smelled unpleasant after being washed.The upstairs shower faucet handle also came off in our hands during our stay, and unfortunately no one was available to repair it.Overall, the location and views made for a memorable family vacation, but some maintenance and housekeeping issues should be addressed to make the experience match the premium price of the property.

We had an amazing stay! The location was absolutely perfect. One of our favorite things was how close everything was—we were only about a two-minute walk to Poipu Beach and Brennecke’s Beach, making it incredibly easy to enjoy the ocean, snorkeling, sunsets, and meals without ever needing to drive.The condo was clean, comfortable, and had beautiful ocean views. We loved spending time by the pool and hot tub after a day of exploring the island. The property was well maintained, and the communication from the hosts made check-in and the entire stay seamless.This was the perfect home base for our Kauai vacation. Between the unbeatable location, easy beach access, and relaxing atmosphere, we couldn’t have asked for more. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Poipu!

The location is amazing. Three beaches within 5 minutes walk… a boogie board beach, baby beach and snorkeling beach. The entire family could enjoy what they love about the ocean without getting in a car, so we really took advantage of the beaches. The swimming pool is small, but the perfect size to sit in and enjoy the end of the day. It was often in the shade, which was perfect for us at times when we’d had enough sun. The house is big, very quiet and has everything a big family needs to cook and eat together. There is plenty of seating in the living room and a screened porch to watch the ocean. We had a couple of minor maintenance issues, which the owner quickly responded to, and having 4 bedrooms and three baths made it easy to keep little ones on a reasonable schedule. A family vacation spot…even better than described.

Great location. We had a 2 and a 4 year old that enjoyed easy access to beaches and the pool. View was excellent.

This is an amazing property. The house is very well stocked for cooking at home. Being able to sit in the front screened in area to watch the turtles play in the waves was as if we were sitting on the beach. We quickly fell into a routine of walking barefoot across the road to swim (with the turtles!) on Brennecke Beach, back to house for a swim in the pool, hit the hot tub, eat, rest and repeat. The bay at Poipu beach was surprisingly vibrant with fish, and there were always lots of turtles resting on the beach. We were lucky enough to even see a couple of monk seals sleeping on the beach. There are two restaurants within walking distance so rarely had to drive anywhere once settled in. There were plenty of beach towels and chairs, one beach umbrella, but no boogie boards (we did end up buying some at the walmart in Lihue and left them for future guests)

Can't beat the location. The big room and Lani are great for family get togethers.

You stay here for the view. The great room (living room kitchen) was amazing! Plenty of seating and kitchen was beautifully stocked. Convenient AC in each room. Easy parking, amazing location, very responsive host. What surprised us was how dated the rest of the house was and that parts were in disrepair. The side gate was broken and had been for quite sometime as the pool guy who comes weekly commented that it was still broken. The bathrooms were unpleasant to be in, the downstairs shower had such little water pressure it was unusable and all of the shower pans were stained brown. The carpet upstairs needed to be replaced years ago and I felt gross walking on it. There were funky smells in the upstairs bedrooms. It was less apparent when we aired out the house everyday but at night we closed up to use the AC in the bedrooms since it was hot upstairs and as soon as the windows were closed there was an unpleasant smell that filled the rooms. We loved the proximity to the beaches, the house layout, and how quiet it was given all of the traffic that passed by every day. We just wish the house was in better shape.

If you are planning a trip with lots of kids, this home is unbeatable on the entire southern side of the island. Proximity to the best beach for boogie boarding, snorkeling and shaved ice makes this the best home. The pool and spa are great options for rainy days! The home is well equipped, not overly fancy and perfect for families!

Hale Hali'a has become our family's special place. We've rented it now 7 times. With the beach across the street, the screened porch is where we gather for sunrises, sunsets, whale and dolphin watching. This year, we saw giant sea turtles at the nearby Poipu Beach. With a former chef in my group of adult children, the kitchen is beautifully equipped, spacious, and is open to the dining and living room area, making meal preparation a communal delight. The owners are generous and responsive. We are already looking forward to next year!

Our crew of 10 had an incredible New Year’s Week stay at Hale Hali'a from 12/31/25-1/7/26. The property itself is breathtakingly beautiful and you cannot beat the location. Although the photos are incredibly gorgeous, they don’t do it justice! The screened-in porch was a crowd favorite for morning coffee, and the views out of every window of home were unreal. The beds were super comfortable and accommodated everyone perfectly. The home also had a couple of air mattresses that we were able to use in the living room, so there was plenty of room for all. The kitchen was well-equipped and all of the appliances were functional and having two refrigerators was a total game changer! The bathrooms were well appointed and we had zero issues arise during our entire stay. The sparkling pool and hot tub were a hit and although it rained for a good portion of our trip, our kids still utilized them both daily. The benefit of walking across the street to the beach was something none of us took for granted. Not having to pack lunches or walk to the public restrooms was such a treat. And when the rain kept our beach days short, it never really felt like we had to leave. We just walked the 30 feet and enjoyed the sights and sounds from the home. We will all miss the sounds of crashing waves and roosters crowing more than we realize!Home owners Ian and Irene were a pleasure to work with and communication was quick and clear. We had a very hard time saying goodbye to this place this morning!

My family had an amazing vacation at Hale Halia. The location is absolutely perfect. Being able to walk across the street to enjoy the waves at Brennecke's Beach or take a short walk to Poipu Beach for snorkeling was outstanding. The home is well stocked and very comfortable. We used the BBQ to grill fish from the Koloa Fish Market and made breakfast each morning while watching the waves from the elevated view. One morning we were able to see a pod of dolphins swim by! The lanai was a favorite spot to drink coffee each morning and watch the sunset in the evening. Having a pool and hot tub onsite was an absolute treat for a private opportunity to relax. The host was very responsive and made sure we had everything needed in advance of our stay. The location could not be better, and I cannot wait to come back.

The location was amazing!

Location is right! Across the street from Breneckies beach and a short walk to Poipu Reef surf break. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. Ian was very responsive to one minor thing I brought to his attention.

The host was always available to answer any questions. He provided great information and wanted us to enjoy the home and our vacation. The location was spectacular, especially for the sunsets. We could walk to restaurants, resorts and the beach was right across the road. The house was clean and well equipped for cooking, swimming, enjoying the hot tub and going to the beach. Fantastic vacation for our family.

The Hale Halia house was so much more than we expected! Incredible location to 2 beaches - a fun wave beach across the street and a super kid-friendly beach that was easy for our 1.5 yr old to walk to. Beautiful views and sounds all day and night!The house was stocked with everything you could possibly need, especially for kids. We had 4 kids under 4 and never ran out of plastic dishware for them or any ceramic dishware for us. They also had plenty of Tupperware options.We stayed for a month and this house was absolutely perfect and felt like home. The pool and hot tub were so wonderful to have on site, especially when the toddlers were napping. You can hear the ocean waves! The owner, Ian, was very responsive if we had any questions or needed anything, and ensured any issues were resolved right away. He was extremely hospitable and I would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Kauai. I really recommend booking this house for your Kauai vacation - you will not be disappointed! If I could rate this more than 5 stars, I would. Thank you for such amazing memories at the perfect house!

Wonderful property. Perfect Beach Location

Spent one week at this lovely beachfront property. All 9 of us, that included 6 adults and 3 small kids had an excellent time. The proximity to the beach was unbeatable. Brennecke's was 100 feet across the street and Poipu was a quick 5 minute walk. It was hot the week we were there and needed to run the AC as much as possible. Each of the 4 bedrooms had its own AC as did the living room. The one in the living room was by far the best with each of those in the bedrooms being adequate at best. Probably the best room in the house was what we called the Ocean Room. This was the screened in room at the front of the house that overlooked Brennecke Beach. Although very pricey for our one week family stay, I can say with certainty that everyone had a wonderful time in Kauai and that Ian's house was a huge part of enjoyment.

Location is everything. You are a minute walk to the beach, sea turtles, coral reefs, and excellent restaurants. The property has a water station to get sand off which is super nice, and chairs and umbrellas provided. The pool and hot tub are perfect. The rooms are all nice, and the views are to die for. Would definitely stay here again.

What a gem! Ian’s place is in the perfect location just across from Brennecke’s Beach. Unobstructed ocean views from the main living area. Less than 30 seconds to plant your feet in the sand and jump in the ocean. Kids loved the body surfing and boogey boarding. Custom mosaic tile pool was the perfect way to cool off after a day at the beach. Well stocked chefs kitchen allowed us to make several memorable meals together and when we didn’t want to cook it was just a short walk or drive to some fantastic restaurants. We also went on several scenic walks from the property which were fantastic.

Our two weeks at Hale Halia were perfect. The house is lovely - well cared for and ideally located. Proximity to two beautiful beaches, a great pool, stunning ocean views - Hale Halia has it all. This was our second stay at this beautiful home and we hope there will be more!

Our family could sit for hours on end in the screened porch overlooking Brennecke’s Beach. The views are spectacular. Not to mention the bodysurfing and snorkeling within steps from the house. We traveled with our 3 year old who loved the layout of the house, hiding throughout fighting monsters while also spending ample time in the pool, hot tub, and ocean. Fantastic communication, turnkey rental. Will return.

Amazing home! Perfect for ages 2 to 78. Comfortable beds and linens. Kitchen has all the essentials. Best part of the home was the lanai with views of the beach and beautiful sunrise and sunset and rainbows. Location was perfect, close to Kiki beach and playground for little ones. The surf in front of the house was great for older kids. Host was very easy to work with. Highly recommend this home.

What a special property for our family vacation of 7 which included my husband and myself, my grown daughters and son in law and our 2 grandkids ages 2 & 4. It was the perfect location to take the kids right across to the beach and park. We also loved the swim time in the pool. The property had everything we needed. The views were spectacular from the front screened room.

Wonderful property right next to Brenecke's beach and short walk to Poipu. Couldn't have asked for a better site for a relaxing vacation with family.

The location of this house is absolutely perfect. Especially to take a toddler to the beach. We would love to come back sometime.

The large living/dining/kitchen/front porch, plus the pool and hot tub, worked fantastically for our family. The location with Poipu park just across the street, and the walkability of the neighborhood were wonderful.(Their were some interior maintenance issues that need addressing that didn't actually impact our stay, but would be a good idea to repair.)

The house is perfect: well-equipped for home and beach. The view is fabulous; how great to be "at home" and able to see the ocean and the people enjoying it.Ian is the perfect host: always available to answer questions. The pool and hot tub were great. So was the outdoor grill; indoors, the kitchen had all we needed and more. Our grandchildren, ages 8 and 10 made good use of the provided boogie board, becoming expert users. And they loved seeing the turtles, dolphins, and whales that were regular visitors. We, the old ones, enjoyed the supplied beach umbrellas and chairs. No boogie for us. The best way to summarize is to say we'd love to be able to use it again. It was perfect.

This house felt like home. The location is perfect. Each morning we swam in the ocean right a Rosa the street from us. The beds were comfortable, house was clean, tons of windows which gave amazing natural light and wind. We plan to return to this home the next time we visit. 10 out of 10 on every level.

This is our 6th stay. Across from several beaches, the house offers spectacular sunrise and sunset watching. We often see whales breech and dolphins play. The house accommodates me and adult children/spouses. Kitchen is terrific—two refrigerators, two sinks, and well equipped.

Wonderful place for a group to spend time on Kauai. Lots of kitchen amenities and beach towels. Loved all the windows and the layout of the house. Pool and hot tub were very nice too. Best part is easy walk to beach!

Location, Location, Location. Across from the beach, The house had all needed for our family of 8 adults and 2 children(9 and 12). Down the street was a rental place for the beach plus the house had chairs, umbrellas, ice chest. The view was amazing. Can not say enough about our experience. Ian was very accommodating to our schedule. I would highly recommend

The Hale Hal’ia house was perfect for our 3 generation family gathering! It is right across the street from a beach tailor-made for boogie boarding. Walk up the beach just a bit and there is a protected sea turtle beach, and then comes a wonderful baby beach (our 2-1/2 yr. old grandson loved his intro to the ocean!). Steps beyond that is a beautiful beach for swimming, surfing, etc.The house itself is amazing. There is an open air atrium in front facing the beach, and we could sit there for hours kicking back. The living room and dining area are spacious and welcoming, the decor soothing. The kitchen is well-stocked, and having children’s plates and Tupperware much appreciated ( there is even a Pak&Play for our grandson).The beach chairs and umbrellas were extremely helpful. And the pool and hot tub were very welcome additions.The host was very responsive to our questions.I cannot say enough, if you are considering renting Hale Hal’ia, go for it!

Location is amazing! We watched whales jumping Christmas morning from the living area. Our older kids could cross the street to swim and we could watch from the house. Easy walk to the next beach over, where Sea Turtles would beach for the night. Kitchen has everything you need. Our kids really appreciated not needing to drive anywhere to have fun. My only criticism would be the house gets a little warm for our Northern Blood. Owner requests AC in bedrooms to not be set below 72.

We enjoyed our stay and loved the prime location right on the beach. The house was well stocked and clean. If (when) we visit Kauai again, we’d definitely stay here again!

This was our third or fourth time staying at this property and we absolutely love it. I have been to Kauai a number of times and as far as I am concerned this is the best property on the island. My 102 year old dad is a Pearl Harbor survivor so we make the trip to the ceremony every December and then hop over to Kauai for a little vacation, this house is perfect for him. I 10/10 recommend it!

This was our second time staying in the house and we love everything about it. I cannot say enough about the location snd the accommodations are awesome. If we return to the island this is our first location choice. Thanks for all the memories we made

Awesome place, we had the best time. The house was very open, spacious with great views right across from one of the best beaches in Kauai. Highly, highly recommended this place. Pool, hot tub and all the amenities that you need. The hosts are extremely accommodating…we never used the AC just had the windows opened the whole time.

We all had a blast and especially our grandkids who learned to boogie board at ages 4 and 7!!

Everything listed about this house was spot on! More amenities than expected, 2 refrigerators, 2 kitchen sinks, water toys, beach chairs. Owners Ian and Irene were easy to communicate with and very responsive. When people are walking by the house and looking up at you with a smile, you know life is good!

Not sure there is a better location to stay…4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, pool, hot tub, and beach RIGHT across the street…40 feet away. You can hear and see the ocean all day and night. A pleasant surprise to find boogie boards, beach chairs, snorkels and sand toys and a small stroller. Awesome surprise!

Beautiful home with beautiful views in a great location! Had 1 issue with the exterior lighting whereby the owner had it resolved within the same afternoon. I highly recommend this property.

The location of this property is absolutely unbeatable. We could have watched the waves come in all day! Walking to the beach for sunset and snorkeling at Poipu Beach Park was the best. The house itself is big and everyone had plenty of space to spread out. Poipu is 100% the place to stay on Kaua’i and this house will make your stay perfect.

We are return visitors, you cannot be the location of the house across the street from Brennecke beach in Poipu. We could watch our boys boogie boards in the waves from the couch or kitchen table. Plenty of space with ocean views, great pool and spa to unwind. Kitchen fully equipped we barbequed several nights as well for our large group. We love it!

This location was perfect for a family reunion. There is no better place in the area with such access, amenities and view.

We had a great stay, the view from the screened porch overlooking the beach and ocean was awesome! Pool was very refreshing and well kept, along with the hot tub. The beach nearby often allowed a close look at some monk seals and Hawaiian green turtles daily.

The house worked great for our family's stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the kitchen well stocked - there even was a blender for smoothies. The host was great and responded promptly to some minor issues we had. Location was great - spectacular ocean views and two beaches across the road. The kids had fun swimming in the pool.

The house is in an incredibly convenient location with amazing views! We loved our time there and hope to come back one day. Each day we woke up to the sound of the waves crashing ashore and took a short walk to see the turtles and monk seals on the beach. The house and kitchen are well stocked with everything you need to cook or walk to the beach.
