The open waters of the Pacific Ocean are right in your backyard at this modern and comfortable home just outside Pahoa, where you can take in spectacular views of the sunrise, the crashing waves, and the rugged volcanic shoreline from your spacious back deck.
This oceanfront home sits on the eastern shores of the Big Island, in a secluded spot not far from the conveniences of Pahoa town. You'll be welcomed by a soft, grassy front lawn, fuss-free tile floors inside, and such at-home conveniences as free WiFi and a washer/dryer to refresh your swimsuits and towels after a day of swimming, kayaking, or stand-up paddleboarding.
The living space is anchored by a contemporary kitchen with stainless steel appliances (including a French-door refrigerator), intricately tiled backsplash, and a breakfast bar for four. But you'll likely spend most of your time outside on the wrap-around lanai, where you can dine at one of the two outdoor tables with a view of the ocean and look for whale spouts on the horizon.

The location is amazing. You can sit and watch the ocean all day, crashing surf creating rainbows in the waves, from the amazing deck. The photo doesn't do it justice - you are right on the sea. Also the interior is brilliant. Yes, no AC, but it really doesn't matter - I don't like the heat but there is so much ocean breeze and fans everywhere.
Absolutely Beautiful. Everything was Perfect. House was extremely clean with a fantastic location and view. Laundry facilities came in handy. Heaven On Earth. Thank You.
The crashing waves of the ocean was very much a part of this experience! The listing of the property did not mention the fact that 2 of the bedrooms were upstairs - steep stairs to be climbed. I should have been told about the stairs in the listing as not everyone in my party could do that.
Absolutely gorgeous and breathtaking!!
The deck, the location right on the waters edge, and THE VIEW!!! Pods of dolphins swimming by in the mornings, distant rainstorms in the evenings. The outdoor dinning table under the expansive overhang kept us dry and able to enjoy our meal. The stargazing was out of this world from out there as well. Thought the Coqi frogs might have been an issue after reading the reviews but we loved them and miss hearing there voices now were gone. Not sure if the description mentions it but there is beach gear, and sundries like oil, and rice which were both a heartfelt surprise. As well as many homey touches like the kukui nut lei, the hand rolled beach towels, games, puzzles and decor throughout. This was our first Vacasa experience and it was all so easy they’ve won over our business. From the touchless entry and hands off arrival & checkout the toilet paper flower in the half bath. Friendly neighbors on one side and no one at home the 5 nights we were there. Quiet property at the end of the road with garage the sounds of the ocean waves lulling you to sleep. Surprisingly there were many local fishers casting off the formidable 10ft lava cliffs most nights and all night one night. Was fun to watch them casting with glowing lures. Location was easy to come and go exploring Pahoa, Puna, the east rift zone, Volcanoes NP and Hilo. Would highly recommend Nings Thai restaurant in Pahoa, so good and super spicy if you like that which I do we had to go a couple times! Could not have
This house exceeded our expectations. The view is amazing and the house is nice and clean. It is away from the populated areas and is just what we needed. We loved watching for turtles in the waves. The breeze coming in at night was amazing after long days exploring the island.
Spacious, lovely, well enough appointed. Beautiful views on the ocean.
Had an amazing time on the big island.
Location was quiet, and relaxing. Just the right distance to volcano and Hilo to feel like you’re on a vacation away from the hustle and bustle. Split bedroom design great for families as kids were nestled upstairs while adults could still chat and enjoy the deck. Outdoor space was comforting but be prepared splashes do occur!! Yes it’s that close to the waves crashing in.
very clean and well stocked with equipment, appliances, & utensils for home cooking. Ocean waves are great for sleeping, along with amazing sunrises and sunsets
This house is exactly as advertised. Very clean and beautiful with an amazing view of the water. I highly recommend.
Wonderful listening to waves at night. Clean, spacious home. Would definitely book again
Probably the most beautiful place I've ever stayed - but not the most expensive, by any means. Directly on the ocean. You can sit on the lanai and feel the spray on your face. The house itself is quite beautiful. If you want a place to stay on the Big Island that you won't want to leave, even to go to dinner - this is it. And at a reasonable price. Couldn't be happier.
Loved staying here! So wonderful to hear the ocean day and night. The view was wonderful. Sunrise each morning was a special treat. This place is a slice of heaven.
Loved the home and the views as well as the walk to the bluffs at the nearby park - even though the waves and weather kept us off the deck most of our stay.
This is a very nice property overlooking a beautiful lava rock oceanside cliff. Sitting on the deck watching the waves crash was one of our favorite things! The awesome power of nature was just stunning! Nice neighborhood...did some walks and a run in the area. Very spacious master bedroom and bathroom on main floor. Nice bathroom and two bedrooms upstairs. Bonus half bath on the main floor. The property was pleasantly decorated and had all the basic amenities needed. One of the fans in one of the bedrooms was not working and we notified Vacasa. Didn't think they were going to bring us a new one, so we went ahead and bought a box fan at Walmart as there is no AC and the bedrooms needed air circulation and some kind of white noise. Hoping they reimburse us for that as we left the fan there. Otherwise, my only "concern" is the floors in the property and some areas of the house, particularly the kitchen, needed more cleaning...deep cleaning. There were a lot of different hairs around the whole house. I know...gross. But I believe it is probably hard to get all that up with the humid/sticky air and everything sticks to the floors and walls and such. Washer and dryer in the garage was a nice bonus! That being said, I would absolutely stay there again!! I would probably just do a quick cleaning "once over" when I arrived. Also, loved being on the Hilo side of the island. The Kona side was very touristy and busy. This was more low key and close to our areas of interest!
Location is amazing. The patio sitting on the waters edge was a delight, and watching the turtles from there after a day at the beach was a perfect nightcap. No a/c was tough with the heat this month, only thing that made it tough for a few hours in the afternoon/evening. Otherwise a great house.
1. **Location and View**: The location offers a great beach view, which was enjoyable, especially during sunrise with morning coffee. 2. **Climate and Ventilation**: The climate, although humid and hot in the mornings, was manageable with open windows at night, allowing for a good breeze. 3. **Cleanliness**: The house was as neat and clean overall, but there were concerns about stinky smells in household vessels and some areas. 4. **WiFi Connectivity**: There were persistent issues with WiFi from day one. Despite a technician's visit, there was no improvement throughout your stay. While the location and view were positives, issues such as poor WiFi connectivity and occasional odors in household items detracted from our experience. These aspects are crucial for future guests to consider, especially those dependent on reliable internet access. It might be beneficial for Vacasa to address these concerns promptly to enhance overall guest satisfaction.
The house was right on the ocean! It's was a beautiful location.
This house was a great place to stay! It was nice and clean and the view was amazing! It doesn't have AC so we had to open al the doors and windows to get a cool air flow.
Spacious, well equipped home. View was spectacular! Comfortable and clean. Quiet well kept neighborhood. Did need to sleep with windows/doors open, gets a bit warm, even with the ceiling fans. Quick drive (just under 15 min) to a nice grocery store. Would recommend, and would stay again.
This beautiful home was equipped with everything we needed. Breath taking views and convenient location. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway or a family retreat. Our host was fantastic! Thank you.
We absolutely loved the view! Watching and listening to the waves as they crashed against the rocks was both calming and overwhelming at the same time. One member of our party had physical challenges so accessibility was a concern; however, the bedroom and en-suite bathroom on the first floor was more than accommodating. This was one of the most relaxing and enjoyable vacations we’ve had!
Beautiful spot, house is large, nicely furnished and decorated with a well stocked kitchen and other amenities. In a residential neighborhood, very friendly atmosphere and pleasant area to walk around. Pahoa is a quiet town, has a nice new grocery market and a few fun places to go out to eat or drink. We saw tons of whales go by from the lanai and enjoyed short day trips to Hilo and Volcano.
1st rate home right on the waterfront in a safe and friendly neighborhood fairly close to town A great stay for us with all the whale and dolphin activities in front of the house!
The home was beautiful and very clean. The kitchen was stocked with everything you will need during your stay. The neighborhood was full of wonderful people with helpful suggestions on things to see and places to eat. The view of the ocean was breathtaking, we saw a lot of whales and turtles. I would highly recommend this vacation home.
Very nice home with great views of the ocean. Lots of space- nice and comfortable.
