Rental Overview
Summary:
Spend the day following the North Shore's beach rhythm, then come home to ocean views and the easy comfort of a ground-floor Pali Ke Kua condo. This two-bedroom, two-bath home sleeps up to six and offers a bright kitchen, ocean-view dining space, smart TV, WiFi, and an in-home washer and dryer for family beach days. Newly remodeled bathrooms and new furnishings freshen the interior, while ceiling fans keep the living spaces comfortable. The shared pool and hot tub make a simple afternoon plan, and the community path points toward Hideaways Beach when you want to get to the water. Princeville Center is close for food and groceries, with Hanalei Bay and north-shore trails a scenic drive away. Please note that the private lanai is temporarily closed pending repairs. This is a practical, well-located home base for families and friends making the most of Kauai's green, beachy North Shore.
The Space:
The bright ground-floor layout has a full kitchen beside an ocean-view dining area, then a relaxed living space with a smart TV. Two bedrooms and two newly remodeled bathrooms sleep up to six, with ceiling fans, WiFi, and a private washer and dryer handling the everyday details. Please note that the private lanai is temporarily closed pending repairs.
Guest Access:
Guests at Pali Ke Kua in Princeville enjoy access to a shared pool and hot tub, with beach access nearby. The oceanfront bluff setting offers an inviting North Shore base.
The Neighborhood:
Pali Ke Kua is on Princeville's bluff above Hanalei Bay, a lush stretch of Kauai where waterfall weather and beach weather can both be part of the same week. The community path leads toward Hideaways Beach, while Princeville Center is close for coffee, groceries, and casual dinners. Hanalei town and its broad bay are down the hill for a longer beach day. This neighborhood makes it easy to pair snorkeling, scenic drives, and a sunset stop facing Bali Hai.
Getting Around:
Lihue Airport is about 40 minutes away via a scenic drive along Kauai's coast. A rental car is highly recommended since the North Shore's beaches, restaurants, and Hanalei's shops are spread out. Princeville itself offers walkable access to some shops and dining, while beaches like Hanalei Bay are a short drive. Parking is typically available in lots or driveways at most properties.
Other Things to Note:
Ocean conditions in Hawaii can change quickly. We recommend swimming at lifeguarded beaches whenever possible and always keeping a close eye on children near the water. Please note: the lanai is temporarily closed pending repairs. Streaming services are available using guests' own accounts. House guidelines: kids are welcome, no parties, no smoking, and no pets. Great location. Beautiful clean relaxing space.
Beautiful location on a cliff in Princeville! The condo was super clean once we were able to access. The handset was locked, so the access code was null. It required a call to get the code for the lockbox to retrieve a key. Fairly annoying since reading reviews shows this is a common occurrence. The kitchen was also inadequately stocked…three coffee mugs for a party of four and no tea kettle. 24 hours later the staff at the condo remedied the situation. Beds and furniture were comfortable and we used the beach towels and chairs that were supplied. Overall we had a great stay and would return.
Great place in a great location. Enjoyed the beautiful grounds and area, much of which is walkable. Short drives to shops and Hanalei. Condo was very nice. A little warm without AC but plenty of fans. Would love to see a small room AC in the main bedroom but still a great place.
This place worked out well for my family of 4. The location is fantastic, and the place was completely spotless. The property is dated, although the bathrooms have been nicely remodeled. Beds were decent. No AC, which made for a warm few nights of sleep, but the fans helped to cool it down and circulate the air…just don’t expect to need any sort of comforter. Kitchen had everything we needed, and the WiFi was great. The private beach was a perk and worth the steep walk to/from…honestly wish we had more time to explore more of it. Overall, I would stay here again…mostly because the location is so fantastic, and the place was super clean.
I stayed in another Pali Ke Kua unit right before this one, which was wonderful and absolutely spotless, so I was expecting a similar experience when I checked into this unit. Unfortunately, I felt so uncomfortable here that I couldn’t wait to leave. I walked in the first day to find 3 dead roaches on the floor in different rooms, a parade of tiny ants on the counter, kitchen smelled like bacon, bedroom floor hadn't been swept, couch was covered in sand, spider web across one dining chair, lanai table hadn’t been cleaned. Found hairs and a stain on the bed, plus more hairs under the covers. I spent hours washing & drying the bedding before actually going to sleep that night. There was a broken window next to the front door when I checked in and the screen was bent out of shape. I had not contacted management about it, but the next day I came back to find someone had attempted to straighten the screen and fix the window with tape, which made me incredibly uncomfortable because I was never told that someone would be entering the unit or working on anything. The day after that, I was in the unit when a man came by and started tearing tape off the window. Of course it startled me. Repairs should be done before guests arrive or management should at least be alerting guests about them. I also killed roaches in this place every single day and just could not get comfortable. If it was maintained & cleaned properly and had better mattress/pillows, it could be nice. The surrounding property is beautiful and quiet, just wouldn't recommend this unit in its current state.
Overall great stay and I would stay there again. Check in was stressful because we were very tired from travel with a toddler and we couldn’t get into the condo without a phone call to the property manager first. Condo was clean. The kitchen was nicely stocked. Mattresses were too soft for my back’s preference. The only beach nearby that is within walking distance other than a resort beach is down a steep cliff.
Our family very much enjoyed our stay at
Clean, great floor plan. Peaceful location…great for a sister reunion. Property is managed beautifully. We just loved it.
We loved staying here. We had trouble getting in with code and we were supported and helped right away. It was very clean. Spacious for two couples and a visitor. We loved sitting in the patio and watching the sunsets, sunrises, and Nenes. Beautiful view. All the amenities were wonderful. We appreciated the beach umbrellas, chairs, boogie board. The washer and dryer were a plus. It was a little warm, but once we opened the windows and turned on the fans it was okay. Trail to Hideaway Beach is paved and very steep. Pretty beach. We wiuld stay here again.
Fantastic location, spacious and comfortable apartment.
Will come again for sure.
The house was in the perfect location, with beautiful views and everything we needed for a relaxing trip. Having the ability to do laundry was a huge bonus. Our favorite part of our stay might have been walking 50 feet to watch incredible sunsets.
This home is decorated nicely. It is apparent that the owners have but quite a bit of effort into furnishing it. The bathrooms have been redecorated and are beautiful. We enjoyed the patio which adjoins a lawn and has an ocean view. The children enjoyed sleeping and playing in the little back den with the sleeper sofa. We were a group of 6 and my husband and I slept in the back bedroom It is beautiful, but small and was cramped, but doable, with us and our luggage.
