Great location. AC works well. Hosts communicate very well
Very clean and pretty place to stay. Getting up and down the very steep driveway was a challenge. If you have any limitations with mobility this could be difficult to stay, the walk down to the place was challenging
Beautiful and secluded. We enjoyed the privacy and peace of this location and its access to attractions on the North Shore.
Beautiful quiet spot in the hills of the North Shore. The location couldn’t have been any more perfect with it being so close to all the beaches.
This was a beautiful and convenient stay and very clean. We enjoyed the outdoor shower and the wonderful views and forest location. We appreciated the amenities provided such as beach towels and soaps and eating basics. The bed was a bit soft for our personal taste. We were very pleased with our stay and we would return for sure.
Overall it is pretty accurate to the listing and I have no issues with the property because of that and will still give it a full rating. If the listing seems great and perfect for you then you'll have no issues and you probably would even assume the cons of it that I had but didn't think of before booking. Pros: Really easy check in and was pretty clean and put together. Can be a nice cozy location if you love camping and that outdoors vibe. Personal Cons: There is no lock on the sliding glass door leading to the room. There is a lock to the treehouse but it is not enclosed so there would be other ways of access and that peace of mind of a lock on both doors would help but again maybe this is not an issue for you. Just want to state that so others know before and make their informed choice and not be surprised like I was. My last con would just be bugs. A lot of ants in the room and then just other bugs and things around the area. Obviously this could've been assumed but I didn't. Also not a problem if you love camping and are used to that. Other than that had some great views and vibes and had no issues with the owners and the place seemed clean.
We had a quick stay at this quaint back house. It’s quite small but does the job. It had everything we needed - from kitchen appliances to A/C. The outdoor shower was a nice touch. Upon arrival, we were a little bit confused if we were in the right area and did not have service so recommend taking screenshots of the guide that is sent beforehand. This stay is in a great location in North Shore.
It was a nice experience to stay off the beach! It was a cute studio with an outside bathroom and deck. It was very private and comfortable! Perfect for our short weekend.!
Great location and a fun spot to explore.
Excellent, peaceful, and comfortable. The property host sent detailed communication before my stay so finding the property and getting inside was very easy. The property itself is in a quiet, secluded neighborhood and grants the guest plenty of cozy privacy. The facilities are clean and modern, with a lovely outdoor shower. It's extremely close to the local grocery store and quick drive to anywhere in the north shore. I'm very pleased with my stay!
Great place if you are looking to stay a little bit away from all the action but still close to great beaches and food. One thing to note is that parking in the driveway (which is very steep) can get tight when there are three cars, which happened frequently during our trip.
Fantastic place to stay! Easy access to the beach and tucked just far enough away to feel like a real escape.
Fantastic property! Thank you so much!
Amazing place to stay. Outdoor shower was a gem, Place was simple but everything you needed. The only difficult thing was the walkway down for anyone with mobility issues would have a hard time at it.
Stayed for our honeymoon and it did not disappoint!
Great stay overall. Pros: beautiful scenery and deck space with friendly gecko friends. Comfortable unit. Cool outdoor shower with hot water. Keurig coffee with a few free pods. Cons: very limited storage and hanging space, the only towel hooks are outdoors where it rains and get windy daily. There should be hooks inside the bathroom and/or in the unit. Bathroom is not inside the unit, you need to go outside to access it. Zero storage space in bathroom besides top of toilet tank and small sink. Freezer barely works and needs defrosting. There is not a picnic table on the deck as pictured. The unit itself technically doesn’t lock, just the front gate to the area. Summary: beautiful and fun stay, especially if you are low maintenance and don’t have a ton of belongings.
Peaceful place. Nice to wake up to bird singing.
Very clean and updated. Sunrise view beautiful. Communication excellent. We would stay again. A few challenges: There is no walkway to the lodge and walking down the grassy slope at night or with luggage is difficult. It mists on the mountain and made the grass slippery. The second challenge is not having a place to put your luggage. There is minimal storage to put things outside in the bathroom or anywhere in the bedroom. We had to keep everything in our suitcases at night. In the morning we had to make the bed and then we could open up our suitcases and get out what we need. Not difficult but just inconvenient.
The site was tidy and clean. Great location with quick access to town/beaches. The private patio was a great place to relax after a long day. Lots of gecko friends outside. Would definitely stay again.
A very nice little getaway with a different perspective. Cozy & comfortable and love the outdoor shower. So nice to hang out on the deck and hear & feel the breeze. Quiet and nice change of scenery from the beach.
This property was perfect for my husband and I. It was quiet when we needed a break and sleep, had a beautiful view, and high speed WiFi for online schooling. Communication to the property manager was quick and helpful. I would rent this property again if we head back to Hawaii.
Location and contact with host perfect. Room was a bit small, we had 2 large suitcases and those were challenging to store. But overall great experience.
I really enjoyed my stay. It’s a charming location atop a jungle-like ravine looking down into greenery and forest. Lots of bird song. Cute place. Well thought out. Would stay again.
amazing and beautiful setting, great description. the indoor space is small but there is plenty of room in the unit as there is a huge deck and open air shower as well as a bathroom. This is the perfect set up for a stay in the north shore. with a great feeling of connection to nature. you feel far away yet you are close to grocery store, beach, restaurants etc. thanks!
The room was very small, enough for a queen bed a narrow walk space on two sides and a counter/sink and dorm fridge. No chairs or table inside. Used AC unit fan at night since ceiling fan was noisy. Nice deck with picnic table but ability to use it was limited as it was often wet from daily rains. The outdoor shower and toilet was a different experience We thought It was closer to sharks cove than it was(thought we could walk there). Nice neighborhood but the road up to it was narrow and windy and about 1.5-2 miles long and 500 feet above sea level so not realistically walkable to the beach, and we like to walk a lot. Having Foodland so close was convenient. Location was great in that Sunset, pipeline, Waimea Bay beaches and Hale’wa (restaurants and shops) were a short drive away.
Cozy, quiet, peaceful and gorgeous highly recommend for any couple looking to unwind!
We had a great time staying in this cozy treehouse. Pupukea is a magical spot and we can't wait to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
The Treehouse was a very nice place to stay for our three-night visit to the North Shore. Most of all we loved the outdoor shower, the deck, and the view. The tightness of the room was only an issue when it was raining outside; there's not a lot of room for luggage, and you have to make room for the other person to move in the little bit of space there is. But we managed just fine. The neighborhood is peaceful and beautiful, but keep in mind that the nearest food is a few miles back (on the main highway); no restaurants or stores you can walk to from the house. Overall, we really liked this place and hope to stay there again!
Couldn't ask for more! Little package packing all the punch imaginable. Absolutely incredible!
Great spot to hang out for a few nights right by the north shore. Clean, functional, perfect!
Great place to stay for a quiet setting with views of beautiful tropical countryside view. It is a bit different than standard hotel with seperate but clean bathroom and outdoor but private outdoor shower! Very nice neighborhood. Easy hiking trails right behind property.
The location is great if you want to snorkel Pupukea and explore the north shore. The place itself was tiny inside with a big lanai set in a quiet forest with a wide variety of fruit trees on the grounds making for a lovely short walk. We only stayed a few days and it was restorative getting out of city life. Snorkeling every morning, caught the surfing on double overhead days at pipeline and sunset, where we also caught a beautiful sunset. There were a few downsides...we could not get the lights on the lanai working and were too lazy to inquire :), and the little kid next store was exuberantly vocal about everything, but otherwise it was a great stay and we just treated the kid as one more form of wildlife to go with the birds and crickets. Place was super clean and roach free, which is an achievement for country Oahu!
Open air and beautiful stars. Really fun taking a shower in the rain in the outside shower.
It is quite hard to find such a quiet private place like this in Hawaii that is affordable clean and beautiful. This place was an absolutely gem of a find. The outdoor shower was divine especially under the stars. The bed was very comfortable and the surroundings were serene and gorgeous Bonus: only a 5 min drive to the beach. Absolutely recommend staying here, 5 stars.
This is a little slice of heaven. Beautiful grounds and so peaceful. I chose this for the outdoor shower which did not disappoint. It rained a bit so couldn’t enjoy the deck as much as I had hoped. Would definitely come back! The caretaker was quick to respond to any questions.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay on our first trip to Oahu. A truly unique experience -- awesome views and awesome location close to restaurants and beaches. Would definitely stay again!
Pros: located close to Sharks Cove, amazing view, AC, fridge and toaster work well. Dive masks were convenient. Bug spray was provided. Cons: mattress isn't great, the bathroom is not connected to the main living room, you’ll have to go out in the rain to use it. The deck isn’t covered. It rained everyday making the deck useless. There is no good path down to the house. The rocks and concrete at the entrance are slick and covered with moss. Almost fell a couple times. There is no handrail for the steps/rock pavers coming down the hill. Use the long way around it is safer when wet. Hot water heater is tiny. Hope you like quick showers. Gate lock mechanism may be hard to work especially at night or when hands are wet. Needs a motion mentor light by the lock. Freezer is in desperate need of defrosting.
The lodge is in a beautiful neighborhood close to trails and a quick drive to beaches. The views from the deck are magical. A peaceful place.
Great stay! Friendly hosts, very clean, and the location is fantastic. Best parts are the outdoor shower and the stars!
Amazing stay for a couple of days. Amazing view very, peaceful surround!
Beautiful place! The view and porch were our favorite and loved the outdoor shower.
The place is as described. It had everything I needed. The deck is nice and surrounding scenery is beautiful. It’s close to beaches and good restaurants.
This place is great for a romantic getaway! Definitely got two people max, but super great place! My husband and I enjoy our stay! The view is beautiful!
Such a great location to be close to everything in North Shore. The bed was comfortable and we slept well and you could see the stars at night so clearly because of the isolated location. This was the perfect little home base for our time on the North shore. I will say however that the AC unit was very loud and made sound inconsistently throughout the night so that kept us up a little bit. And I would recommend to not overpack because the small space can feel cluttered quickly. I did really appreciate the included beach towels.
Kalea's treehouse was an amazing stay. Very unique and different than any other property! You feel like you're genuinely in the middle of the jungle when you're there! Very quiet neighboorhod but just minutes from the beaches.
fantastic place! scenic, quiet, and comfortable!
the space was beautiful and clean, with a great peaceful view to wake up to, the location was amazing, very convenient reasonable drive to tons of things to explore with the beach, food trucks and grocery store just down the road. kind and thoughtful touches were in the room like some local snacks and a postcard, towels to use for the beach and access to bug spray.
Great location - close to North Shore and nearby shops/food trucks. We loved waking up to views of the forest every morning and the neighbourhood felt very safe and welcoming. Outdoor shower was bliss and especially convenient after a day at the beach. The lodge was exactly as described and we appreciated the extras provided such as shampoo/conditioner, sunscreen, after sun and postcards!
Comfortable bed, private, beautiful view. Not many amenities but it’s amazing how you can make it work. We loved it! We did stay 5 nights, only thing we really missed was to do a load of laundry!
WOWWWW what a unique experience while staying in the heart of the North Shore. This place was truly incredible. Our favorite part was ditching normal showers and enjoying the outdoor shower which was so relaxing and quit literally a breath of fresh air. The room is small but has everything you need and lots of storage space for luggage underneath. I HIGHLY recommend staying here if your looking for a peaceful retreat, the views are STUNNING and I can’t wait to come back.
It was amazing! Loved the area. Very nice and clean!
Kalea's place is a tranquil getaway that is also very close to lots of North Shore spots. I highly recommend it!
What a special stay! This awesome spot was exactly as good as promised. We appreciated the comfort of the AC and bed, as well as the privacy of the location. The drive up the lane was super beautiful, and the proximity to great beaches and grocery shopping was also a plus.
Great location for a nights rest and afternoon recharge in between day trips. Hikes and beaches galore 😍.... so glad we stayed here, Waikiki is a tourist farce, enjoy the 🏝 and see O‘ahu for what she truly is.
We had a great trip here! It was in a great location and the lodge is beautiful!
We enjoyed our stay at the Leafy Lodge. This listing has a private deck & beautiful view of the forest. It was the perfect getaway spot to hang out along the north shore of O’ahu for a few days. Mahalo 🤙
Our stay here was a little slice of paradise. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back in the future!
We absolutely LOVED staying here! We really enjoyed the outdoor shower. The bed was comfortable with nice linens. We had everything we needed. The place is super close, within a 5 min drive to the best food trucks, a supermarket and beaches. The communication was A+, we got responses to our questions within minutes. We would love to stay here again!
This is the cutest little cabin in a very peaceful location. There’s birds everywhere and the deck overlooking the forest is totally dreamy. The outdoor shower is fabulous and the toiletry products are super nice & high end. The cabin is in the same property as the main house and you will park right in front of their garage, but they stay out of sight which is nice. You do have to sign an additional rental agreement, but everything is pretty straightforward. Awesome location in Haleiwa!!!
We had a great time! Beautiful views and peaceful setting.
