Evergreen Cottage @ Maui Adventure Villa

Very enjoyable bungalow with screened lanai overlooking scenic backyard. Very quiet and the owner is fun to talk to. We would definitely stay here again.

John is an excellent host and very responsive.

The host, John, was excellent and brought us wonderful Maui bananas twice. The cottage was clean and comfortable with a small kitchen and a nice large lanai. The neighborhood was wonderful to walk in, and it was great to be away from tourist areas.

The host John is great, very response to help guest with there needs. The cottage is clean and has amenities most guest look for. The place beautiful and out of the way on North shore. Quit and very peaceful.

John was so easy to work with. Cute little place. Loved the bananas!

We enjoyed our stay at the evergreen cottage and hope to return. John was awesome and let us borrow some nice chairs for the beach. A wonderful property in a wonderful neighborhood, and nice private entrance.

The host John was very accommodating and accessible. The property was just what we wanted, easy access and quiet because we traveled with two mobility challenged guests. It was lovely! You need to cook before dark, and between daily rain showers.

This property is on a working banana plantation. It is in a beautiful rural area not far from the north coast of Maui. The cabin was perfect for two people with a private bath and kitchen and a beautiful Lanai, screened in porch. It did not have air conditioning but lots of air flow and evening rains. Staying there in the summer was rather hot, but it cooled down at night. John was an excellent host, available for questions but mostly out of sight. I would recommend this place to friends.

John is friendly, giving host with a beautiful organic farm. We tasted delicious fruit like avocado's and banana's. The cottage was nice and clean. The beds and mattresses slept good, we took the opportunity to sleep in the porch. We used the cottage to explore the whole island visting places like Hana, Makena, Kapalua and Haleakalā. In the central space surf and snorkeling gear was available to borrow. We had a great time. Our kids could play in the garden and even help cutting a banana tree. Many thanks.

My wife and just finished our stay at Maui adventure villa and it was great. John was a fantastic host very attentive and quick to answer any questions. the property is located right near the hana highway and the property grounds are beautiful. i definitely recommend staying there. hopefully well be able to make it back to Maui and will be hopefully staying there again... also the bananas were magnificent :)

Great view

Enjoyed our stay, specifically sleeping in Lanai. Bonus: was able to capture time-lapse of Milkyway from the yard. John was very responsive and loved the super quiet neighborhood after our bustling North West and Kihei stays.

This property was amazing! John the host communicated throughout our stay. The views from the property were beautiful. Waking up to birds chirping was such a delight. John was so generous with the bananas that are grown on the property. We took some with us to Oahu for family. We would book another vacation here without hesitation! You won’t regret it!

Had a lovely stay here and would definitely stay here again. I enjoyed the peaceful and relaxing surroundings, windows open, gentle breeze blowing, it was perfect for just me. John is a wonderful and attentive host. He provided coffee, and even some fresh off the tree, apple bananas. I found the property description to be accurate, so as with all things, pay attention to the details and you won’t be disappointed. For example, it’s a kitchenette and there’s no A/C, neither of which were an issue for me.

The cottage is an inviting peaceful place nestled between banana trees and palms. I spent most of my time while staying in the sunroom, listening to the wrestling of the palms in the wind. It’s a lovely place to stay.Thank you

My husband and I were fortunate to stay at the little bungalow that John offers. We found that it was very private feeling even with a couple other rentals close by. John’s as very friendly and attentive. We did not need much but he was there quick when we did. He takes great care of the property as well. It is perfect for 2 people. If we had little kids the porch would have been great for them or us to sleep. But as it sits for privacy it should be 2 people.

The property was perfect for our family with an 8 and 10 year old. The kids slept on the lanai and were very comfortable. It really felt like you were out in nature. John was welcoming and the fresh bananas were great. We split our trip up with one week here and one week on the south shore and we’re very happy we did.

Our stay on Maui couldn't have been better. John is the perfect host, nice, accommodating and very friendly. He even lent us a few books on topics that we had briefly discussed when we arrived. We found that very thoughtful and not a given. The house was exactly as described and even better. It is incredibly quiet and beautifully located, you feel like you are in the middle of a small green oasis. And you even have a sea view from there. The house is equipped with everything you need. Even the kitchen was not lacking anything. It is furnished with a lot of love and it felt like coming home for us. We couldn't have imagined a nicer place for our time on Maui. Thank you John

Beautiful property

The property is as depicted in online booking. It is clean, cozy, peaceful, and embedded in laps of nature. John is very welcoming host and welcomed us withvapple bananas ans star fruit.

Everything was good except the cooking stove which is outside the cottage. If you come late in the night, it’s not easy to cook out in the dark and mosquitoes are all around.

This place is amazing! The cottage has everything you need, tucked away in a beautiful setting of greenery. John was an amazing host and was very communicative throughout the process. Would 10/10 recommend for anyone thinking about coming to Maui.

Sure, you could stay in some expensive resort or rent a 90's-era suburban home, or you can stay with John. This perfect little cottage is great for the non-tourist tourist that just wants to stay in a cute Maui neighborhood and feel like a local. Incredible views, local food, and excellent host.

During my time in Maui it was a work trip and Johns property was the perfect spot to relax and recharge after a long days of work and adventure. The location was far enough to where there was no noise from the city but close enough to where it wasnt a burden to get to the beaches and stores. Will definitely stay again and recommend.

It's worth staying at Evergreen Cottage. It has a beautiful style with lots of wood all around and is very naturally oriented. The veranda was a real experience for the children to sleep in. As it is open all around (with insect protection), it is a wonderful adventure, similar to - or much better than - sleeping in a tent. They loved it - whatever the weather. Living here is very close to nature. It is green all around - a very beautiful property. John attaches great importance to simplicity and naturalness. The apartment is equipped with simple things, but in the end you don't need more. He is a very nice landlord who responded quickly and was always helpful with good and quick solutions to our requests. There is also a washing machine + dryer.

We stayed in the Evergreen Cottage @ Maui Adventure Villa for 17 nights. The property was beautiful with banana trees and taro plants scattered around. We had a great time, despite the rainy weather, which was actually quite soothing to listen to while sleeping, as the cottage is on the wet side of the island. The location was fantastic, with close proximity to Paia for good food and shopping. There were a few nice beaches nearby for sunset, though the majority of the more popular ones were about a 35-minute drive away. The housekeepers, Sarah and Bill, were great and took excellent care of us and the property. Their attention to detail and friendly demeanor made our stay even more enjoyable. We highly recommend the Evergreen Cottage for anyone looking for a serene and picturesque place to stay in Maui.

Snug and safe cottage away from it all. Quiet community setting with nature galore. Easy to communicate with John prior to, and during the trip. Highly recommend!

We loved staying here and would stay again. But its not for everyone. It's more rustic and laid back than your typical vrbo but we love places like that. John the owner is a really nice guy who offered us a very generous checkout time. A great place to chill.

Perfectly located in the Maui North Shore. Great spot for anyone looking for a base to explore the island from or just hang out and unwind. Looking forward to coming back!

This is a lovely place with a gorgeous view. The screened lanai was particularly wonderful. It definitely isn't a place for people looking for tourist Maui, as it's out of the way (which, for us, was good). I rated "accuracy of online listing" with three stars because the listing seems to overclaim a bit about what's available (hot tub?). I'd also suggest making a few cooking basics available (salt, for example). Overall, we were very pleased.

Quaint cottage, nice quiet place for a couple to go and relax at. The fresh bananas were a wonderful surprise. John took care of anything we needed. We stayed a extra night and John put us up in the Bamboo House. Great place for a party of 6. We would stay here again if we ever get to return. Best housing prices around too. Thanks John

We had a very relaxing stay at this lovely Haiku property. Peaceful and relaxing. Enjoyed being away from the resorts but quick drive to Paia and Makwao and the beach. We liked staying in a neighborhood, petting the cats who came by to say "hi." Our kids loved staying in the screened in porch. We left our computers in the unit after check out and it was still where we left it a couple of days after we realized it was gone! Owner was very nice about our retrieving them. Only small drawback is that you must cook outside which is challenging at night and the apartment could use more lights. Small drawbacks and would stay there again!
