Coco Cottage at Poipu Beach - 2BR/2BA, Luxury Home

We had a great experience here; lovely cottage for our family, close to beach and amenities in poipu, easy to access/clear instructions, and good communication with owners as needed. All in all a great stay.

The cottage was just as advertised. Rick and Joan have a knack for hospitality. From The welcome basket of fresh pineapple, coffee and macadamia nuts to the full supply of beach toys and supplies, the cottage was amazing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return!

Our group of four absolutely loved our stay at Coco Cottage. The location was excellent—just a short walk to the beach, with lots of good food options nearby. We found that most things we needed were either within walking distance or just a quick drive away.The cottage itself was the perfect size for us. The living room had plenty of space for hanging out, playing games, and watching TV in the evenings. The kitchen was well stocked and large enough for us to cook a nice dinner one night and several breakfasts during our stay. The grill worked great as well. The beds were comfortable, each bedroom had direct access to a bathroom, and the bedroom AC units worked well when we needed them.What really stood out was how well equipped the cottage was. It had everything we could possibly need: beach chairs, a wagon, coolers, games, kitchen supplies, sunscreen, Band-Aids, a washer and dryer with detergent, and more. Other than groceries, we honestly didn’t have to buy a single thing.The host was also very responsive and easy to reach through VRBO messages whenever we had a question. We’d happily stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kauai.

This place was great. Great location, beautiful house that has everything you could want. The owners were very accommodating to our requests and cannot say enough great things about this place. If you are unsure about it for any reason, don’t be. We only stayed for one night unfortunately, after staying on the north shore for a week. E wanted to stay down south before having to head home, but will definitely come back again if we are lucky enough to visit this awesome island. Short walk to the beach, which you can hear the waves crashing from the house. We hung at the small beach which is a 2 minute walk and laid in the sand with a monk seal resting up in the sand. Took the boogie boards which were at the house and had ourselves an awesome time riding the massive waves with some of the locals. Again, if you are undecided… book this place. This is our second stay at the Shaw's property, and certainly won't be our last. I love the proximity to Poipu Beach and the many restaurants and shops in the area. My favorite part is that it's located off a quiet street, with low noise levels. The property itself is beautiful, with a comfortable lanai for sitting outside, even when it rains. The inside is beautifully appointed, with literally anything you might need to make it your home away from home. The Shaws are responsive to questions or requests. I would recommend this lovely property to anyone.

Our first return to a previously booked accommodation: Coco Cottage you remained in our hearts after a visit in June of 2021. So lucky to go back to your wonderful property in May of 2026. The location is amazing. Easy walk to watch the sunset, visit the local beaches and a 5 minute drive to our favorite spot in Poipu: Shipwreck Beach. The house is super clean and has just what is needed for an excellent trip: beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers, towels and sunscreen. Kitchen was well stocked for our home-cooked meals. The backyard is a paradise with the swaying trees, orchids and many birds. The hosts are fantastic at quick communication - and went above and beyond, offering to ship a left item. Cute, spacious and impeccably clean cottage walkable to beach coves and restaurants. Perfect for 4 friends! We loved the large back porch and grill for outdoor hangs and enjoyed watching the birds every morning. Beautiful greenery surrounding the property so it felt very private. Really lovely, modern and well decorated spaces. Beach gear and coolers were such a nice bonus!

THIS IS THE HOUSE!!! Just book it! You’ll love staying in this sweet cottage if you’re visiting Kauai! So MUCH charm! Completely well stocked! Comfy beds! Beautiful backyard and lanai! Walking distance to the beach! Each bedroom had its own attached bathroom! We travelled with another couple and both of us own short term rentals in other towns and so we are a little picky when it comes to renting on VRBO, but we were delighted to enjoy this home! Owners could not have been nicer and great communicators!!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home!

A perfect stay in Poipu for our family of four. The cottage is spacious and all the beds are super comfortable. The yard is wonderful with the best lanai to enjoy after a long day at the beach. The kitchen has everything you could ever need we even baked cookies on a rainy afternoon! Location is unmatched and the owners are not only organized and attentive but so kind. We have stayed in VRBO’s all over the world and this is one of our best stays. Highly recommend and we will definitely return.

This house was magical. The location is perfect within walking distance of Poipu Beach. The whole house was well-stocked including coffee cookies, and eggs when we got there! We got in late at night and check-in was a breeze and it was so nice to have coffee and eggs in the morning. The property itself has a large private backyard that you share with the neighbors that feed the birds. There are beautiful orchids everywhere. We still felt privacy was maintained even with the shared yard. We are already dreaming of coming back! Thank you so much for hosting us!

Coco cottage was amazing. Perfect location next to Poipu Beach Park. We were able to see the turtles, eat Puka dogs and watch the sunset. The cottage is super clean and has everything you need for the kiddos. Will definitely stay here again. Thanks Joan and Rick

The cottage is beautiful! Perfect for our stay. We spent a lot of time on the lanai, so peaceful and relaxing. It was fun watching the hen and baby chicks, and the rooster was beautiful. The neighbors (Tina and Lon) we so nice, even bringing us bananas and lots of tips on what to see. The kitchen had everything needed and more. Thank you for the welcome basket, it was so appreciated. Joan and Richard are excellent hosts, very helpful!

Lovely cottage, great location, half a block to the ocean front where we saw fabulous sunsets. The back porch was a beautiful spot to sit together and enjoy meals and the yard is spectacular! Lots of birds to listen to.

The Coco Cottage was impeccable. From the moment you walk in you are in awe by the quaint and stunning styling of the home. From the welcoming gifts, to the amazing amenities it has easily become our favorite place to stay in the Poipu area! The proximity to Brenneke's Beach is also one of the best.

Everything was in pristine condition. The owners quickly addressed any concerns. It felt like a home and not just a house. The trade winds cooled the house off quickly. Amenities were abundant and location was perfect. Will return!

We had an amazing stay! Joan and Rick were wonderful hosts and had quick and thoughtful communication throughout our stay. The house was incredible and a short walk to the beach. Everything was extremely clean and well thought out with everything you could possibly need. We would love to return one day!

Truly lovely house with cozy rooms, plenty of fans, efficient AC, a cook’s kitchen, and a fantastic loving vibe. Very short walk to Puka dog, Brennecke beach (and restaurant), and shopping center with bakery, coffee, sushi including a small market for essentials. Dying to go back!

Lovely home, just right for family of 4. Magnificent mango tree in the back, dropping fruit on the daily. Walking distance to the beach. AC in the bedrooms was not bad either!

This was our second stay at the Coco Cottage and it did not disappoint! In addition to the perfect location 5 minute walk from the beach, the house is exquisitely appointed with everything needed for a great vacation, even including beach supplies such as chairs, umbrellas, and toys! Everything at Coco Cottage was so well thought out and even better than I could have imagined. Hosts were communicative and responsive and we had the most relaxing time.

This was our second time staying at Coco Cottage and it was outstanding. Our first stay was in 2019 for two weeks. This stay in 2025 was for a month. Picking Coco Cottage for this extended time was perfect. The house has everything we needed with many personal touches. I loved drinking my evening cocktail out of the antique Hula Girl glasses. Joan and Rick were kind and attentive without infringing. They brought us flowers and mangos from the tree. They responded quickly during all communications. The experience was outstanding. M&J

Our stay at Coco Cottage was exceptional. The beauty of the property with hidden Gems of Orchids brought peace and relaxation on the lanai.We were very comfortable! The kitchen is well equipped with everything you would need. Umbrellas and chairs for the beach were also provided. The location is great! It is an easy walk to Poipu beach where we enjoyed watching the turtles. The Hosts were very responsive, welcoming, and have thought of everything for a home away from home. We would come back!!

This house is exactly what it looks like except even better. It is fully equipped, comfortable, great location. The back deck is so inviting we sat there for many hours. I would definitely stay here again. It is a comfortable walk to the beach and restaurants. Great home.

I stayed here with my family for my brother’s wedding and we had an absolutely wonderful time. This house is stunning and has such a welcoming feeling. The house was clean and stocked with everything we needed. The hosts were very responsive and so welcoming as well. We would love to stay here again!

We have rented vacation homes all over the world and this was one of the best. It’s located in a touristy area, but is tucked away and private. Everything was extremely clean and well-appointed. Just up the street from Brenneke’s beach where dozens of sea turtles swam in every night to rest.

This property is beautiful and so close to the beach. Just a short walk. The inside of the house is impeccably done and everything you need is there. The beds were very comfy and the vibe is pure aloha. We definitely would stay there again. Mahalo

We loved staying at Coco Cottage, just a short walk to the beach for fun in the sun. The hosts are wonderful, and we absolutely loved this charming place-- especially the lanai and the "oasis" in the backyard-- very lush and beautiful, and relaxing to just wake up and listen to the morning birds. We will definitely return!

Just imagine a rainy afternoon on Kauai, sitting on a lanai overlooking a lush, green and orchid filled backyard, reading your book. When the rain stops you walk a block to the beach and see the sunset over the turtles. Fresh Mahi Mahi and a Mai tai at Brennecke’s, and settle into your comfortable bed with en-suite baths Perfect stay.

Really enjoyed our stay in a nice part of the island. Co co cottage was ideally positioned close to the beach and restaurants. The island has lots of chickens. They can be noisy at night and need serious culling.

This is a gem of a property! Spacious, bright, airy, great common areas, incredibly well-equipped kitchen. Layout worked well for our family of two couples. Communication with the owners was excellent. Two fabulous beaches, and lounging sea turtles, are an easy walk away; glorious sunsets a block down the road. I recommend it enthusiastically!

As you swing the charming front gate open be prepared to fall in love with this sweet little cottage. We loved Joan and Rick’s charming home! It was cozy and well appointed. The backyard porch was so peaceful and beautiful! We would highly recommend this home and location. Wish we could have stayed longer!!

Everything you need for a lovely vacation, easy walking distance to Brenneke and Poipu Beach.

Every single thing about this house was Hawaiian perfection. The location is so close to the best beach on the island, we were able to walk there every day. It was spotless. Beautifully decorated and appointed! Highly recommend! Worth every penny!

This Ohana is perfect. Has all the amenities that one needs to enjoy the stay. Morning walks to the beach started our day out wonderfully.

This home is beautiful! We loved taking the beach chairs and cooler down to Poipu beach for picnics using the wagon! They really had everything we needed, and we felt so welcomed. We will stay here again if we come back to Kauai!

Wonderful and spotless cottage with every amenity in a perfect location!

We stayed here two years ago for the first time and fell in love with this charming cottage. We knew that we would return because it is so lovely. (Please see our review dated 11/7/22). It has been beautifully maintained and the owners are wonderful. On our first night, one of the showers was not working properly. We reached out to the owners and they were here to address the issue within 30 minutes. It goes without saying, we hope to return to beautiful Coco Cottage the next time we’re in Kauai!

Cozy cottage that is short waking distance to beach. Location is fantastic! Quite area and cottage is spacious and well equipped. Lanai is comfortable with beautiful backyard. Owners are caring and responsive. We had such a wonderful time at Coco Cottage!

The property was just as the description and photos showed, in a wonderful neighborhood that we have stayed in several times! A short walk to the beaches and daily stroll to watch the sunset. The peacefulness and beauty of the back porch and yard are even better than pictured. My only suggestion would be to add a hammock and some lounge chairs to make the backyard even more blissful...but that's just a tiny wish, everything was wonderful and the hosts so kind and thoughtful!

Will definitely stay at Coco Cottage the next time we visit Kauai.
