Hali'i Kai Ocean Front Resort is truly a gem on the sun-drenched Kohala Coast of the Big Island in the Waikoloa Beach Resort. The properties' grounds are well-kept, and the sunset views are AMAZING! Our unit, Hale Little Blue Whale (7F), is a luxurious 3 bedroom, 3 bath townhome sited along the scenic 6th of Waikoloa’s famed Beach Golf Course and has expansive golf fairway and unobstructed ocean views from the kitchen, living room, master bedroom and both lanais (1st picture was taken from the lanai). The lush grounds of the Hali'i Kai resort invite you to enjoy this resort and to spend time at our private & award-winning Ocean Club. One of Hali'i Kai’s famous features is its private ocean front club with a magnificent multi-level free form pool with aqua loungers, waterfalls and sand bottom lava spa hot tub. The Club features great food, drinks and frequent evening entertainment. The exercise center is open on 3 sides with direct views of the Pacific Ocean. Watch for whales and spinning dolphins in season. Resort Amenities include a Putting Green, Basketball, Tennis and Pickleball Courts that are directly across the street from Hale Little Blue Whale.

Hale Little Blue Whale is the largest floor plan in the complex and was completely redecorated. Beautiful acacia hardwood floors on main level and master bedroom. The spacious Master Suite includes a King Bed, large flat screen TV, large ensuite luxury bath with soaking tub and a private lanai with a direct view of the Pacific Ocean. The other two bedrooms have roomy Queen Beds and a bathroom via an adjoining hall. There is a desk in the upper BR. Our unit's 3 full baths and 2 Lanais combine for a spacious 1,930 sq ft and can accommodate up to 8. The elegant kitchen is a chef’s dream with high end appliances, granite counter tops and everything you need to cook.

There is a $25 per night fee for each guest over 6 up to a maximum of 8. This fee is waived for children 2 years and younger. Stays during Christmas and New Year's must be for a minimum of 7 days.
At check in you will receive access cards that can be used to gain entry to the main gate and the private Ocean Club. There is a $25 nightly resort fee per unit that is retained by the Homeowners Association to defer costs of operating the Ocean Club and Front Desk.

Beautiful home in convenient location, walkable to Hilton Waikaloa resort. Loved the layout and spaciousness of this 3B/3Ba unit - perfect for 4 kids and 2 parents. Great beach toys, including 4 boogie boards for kids to play at nearby beaches. Ocean Club was beautiful and we had a nice dinner there. Also we cooked breakfasts in the unit’s well-stocked kitchen. Great communication from hosts!

Great experience for our extended family of 6. Fantastic location with beautiful pool and excellent restaurant. Our coffee maker had a slight crack in the carafe that was promptly replaced by the service technician James (who also generously gave us a gift of chocolate covered macadamia nuts).
We have stayed at Halii Kai many times, and this condo is the best we have stayed at. The condo was extremely well equipped with everything we needed. The view was amazing. Steve and Maryanne were very responsive to any question we had. All in all, a wonderful experience.

The property was well maintained and the unit was clean, comfortable, beautiful and well stocked - we did not need a thing! We loved the beach “closet” full of chairs, coolers, sand toys and snorkeling equipment. The unit is a couple minute walk to the beautiful pool and view, with the putting green and tennis court across the street. We were close to shopping, beaches and restaurants - absolutely cannot say enough about the unit, we will be staying again!! Loved, loved, loved it! Owners were very easy to work with and communication was quick and friendly! We definitely recommend!!!
House was great, well stocked, clean and very nice. Good location.
First of all, we already knew we loved Hali’i Kai. You cannot beat the Oceanside pool and gym watching whales and dolphins play, the morning beach walks along the Hilton to A-Bay or up for some coffee/smoothies/açaí bowls - we are ready to go back already! But Steve and Maryanne’s condo was perfect as it had the view (yes, we watched whales and dolphins from the patio and gorgeous sunsets) but also all of the amenities of home. It had more than enough towels, dishes for everything, laundry soap and even beach gear to take to Hapuna just down the road. The beds were comfy and as much as I’d like to keep this gem of a place a secret so it’s available for us next time to book, I figure I should be honest. To top it off, they immediately offered us late checkout for a small fee knowing we had the red eye flight home which truly made it feel like we had an extra full day.Thank you Steve and Maryanne! We absolutely enjoyed our stay.

We’ve stayed at a number of properties at Hali’i Kai, but never 7F. We keep coming back to the resort for the beauty, the quiet, the amenities, the services and its ability to always reset our priorities. The townhome is now top of our list for future stays. It’s impeccably maintained, stocked to the gills with all requisite goodies, all things work as they should and the owners are extremely responsive. We loved every minute of our stay and returned to our “real” lives refreshed, recharged and ready to plan our next adventure.

We had a great family vacation at this very well equipped property. Supplies were abundant, whether it be every kitchen amenity imaginable, or multiple beach chairs and umbrellas to accommodate our family of 5 adults. Views from the lanai did not disappoint and we were fortunate enough to even see a whale breaching from that vantage point. The real gem of the Hali'i Kai resort is it's proximity to the ocean, well maintained grounds and the beautiful pool area. The sunsets from the pool were fantastic! We look forward to staying again!
We celebrated my recent retirement with a whole family trip to the Big Island. This place was the perfect spot to land. It was very well furnished and had a great view!
Had a great stay here. The listing is very accurate, no surprises. Nice neighborhood, very quiet for most of our 8 nights here. House is well appointed with lots of kitchen supplies, beach supplies, sporting gear, etc. All of the communication with the property manager was detailed and easy to follow. Would definitely stay here again.
The townhouse exceeded our expectations. It was spacious and comfortable and provided everything we needed (plus more!). The location was convenient to all the fabulous beaches as well as the airport and Kona. We used all of the provided beach gear (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, mats, towels, cooler, snorkel gear). This was a huge perk especially when we saw the cost of renting gear. The sunsets were beautiful. We enjoyed walking along the coastal path around the Hilton property Nextdoor (and visiting the dolphins). The pool and Ocean Club were a nice way to end the evening as well. The owners were very attentive and quick to respond to our questions. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a wonderful week at this lovely condo. Communication with the owners was very easy and they always replied in a timely manner. Upon arrival, the check in was easy and smooth. The condo itself was extremely clean, had nice furnishings and was one of the most well stocked places I've ever rented. There wasn't much we actually needed to buy besides groceries. The view from the condo is amazing and we saw some spectacular sunsets right from our decks. The grounds of Hali'i Kai are beautifully maintained with lots of flowers and plants to enjoy. The pool area is lovely and right by the ocean so you get the best of both. The condo is located close to shops and restaurants, which is very convenient. My favorite, Lava Lava Beach Club, is mere minutes away. There are also many lovely beaches within close proximity to spend time at. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again!
Hali'i Kai 7F is a spacious, well-maintained townhome in a private gated community. The kitchen cookware and storage items were plentiful, and the laundry room closet was full of essentials for our days at the beach (there are numerous to choose from within a 15-minute driving radius). The resort pool and Ocean Club restaurant were amazing—we did not observe any issues with the property rules. This location was a convenient base for our excursions to Waipi‘o Valley Lookout, Mauna Kea summit to watch the sunset & stargazing and snorkeling. And a couple rounds of golf on the nearby courses. Excellent timely communication with the owners, Steve and Maryanne.
The place was very clean, well equipped and great location. The place was just like in the pictures. The access to the pool added another layer of fun for our whole familiy! Would def recommend!

So many extras! We had absolutely everything and then some. Cooking needs, tableware, bedding, blankets, outdoor and beach gear. We enjoyed the pickleball play as the locals were warm and welcoming. The view was amazing. Don’t hesitate to book here you will not regret it!
The unit was in very good shape. 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. Lots of beach gear was provided in a closet. Air conditioning was very good. Lots of towels beach and bath and a full size washer and dryer. The property manager (maybe also the owner?) was very helpful in allowing us to stay late to our checkout for a small additional fee. The location in Waikaloa was very good as well.
June 9th-June 17th The entire atmosphere of the house enhanced the beautiful scenery. The house is very well maintained, we never had to “wish” we had or needed anything. The spectacular views from both lanais were worth every bit of our rental fee. The pictures do not do the house justice, there is just no way to capture all of the beauty. Steve and Maryanne were very informative and have the island mapped out for interesting outings. We took their advice on where to snorkel and we were not disappointed…we played with several sea turtles and saw beautifully colored fish. I really can’t say enough about our stay, this house is a real “find”. You can’t go wrong with this rental. Wish we could have stayed another week or two or three…
I can’t overstate how well the Hali’i Kai was appointed. Every appliance you could want including a rice cooker! The pantry was stocked with lots of seasonings. I highly recommend you check in before going shopping as most of what you need is already provided. Weber grill on the private deck made cooking there a joy. In addition there was a large closet full of beach equipment including half a dozen Maui Jim beach chairs. Beach umbrellas and snorkel gear rounded out all we needed for beach trips. Lots of cooking and dishware provided. High quality hand soaps and Pantene hair products were provided in the three bathrooms. Beds were very comfortable and we loved the sheets. It literally felt like we walked into someone’s home which was a wonderful home away from home. The food and drinks available at the pool were great! Incredible sunsets each night from either the unit or pool. Right across the street was a putting green. There were putters and balls in the unit which we enjoyed during friendly putting tournaments. If you like to fish, we caught lots of fish from the shore right there! The binder provided had all of the critical information you need to enjoy your stay. We visited several of the restaurants that were recommended in the binder with great success. We had no problem parking two cars during our stay. There is a visitors parking place right outside your door and several around the complex additionally. Highly recommend!
The townhome was as described in the photos. Amazing sunsets and views of the golf course. The owners were very responsive and communicated via text to see if everything was ok. There is lots to do in the area. We went night snorkeling with the manta rays, watched sunset and stargazed at the top of Mauna Kea and golfed at the Waikoloa beach golf course. The pool area is great and the beach is close by. Everything was great - I would recommend the townhome to family and friends.
We spent a very enjoyable week here with children and grandparents. Amazing view of the ocean and a very well appointed unit. Extras like spices and kitchen utensils, charging outlets in every room, hand lotion, and copious beach equipment were all greatly appreciated. Some of the appliances needed a cleaning... Cleaning out the filters and running some cleansing cycles on the dishwasher, washer and coffee maker greatly improved their function. Club House on the ocean was gorgeous and we enjoyed drinks and food there on many days. Kids all had fun in the pool and asked to go back there every day. Staff were pleasant but overly watchful, with any minor rule deviation being called out and corrected with our group and many others at the pool. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay and would consider returning next time we're on the Big Island.
Loved the property and view! Pool and onsite restaurant were great. Only downside was parking for more than one vehicle however we were able to find visitor parking in the complex.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Hawaii and especially our accommodations at the Hali Kai. This condo is outstanding and is beautifully located with a direct ocean view. It was very clean, well equipped with supplies and tastefully decorated. We really appreciated the owners’ interest in ensuring our vacation was stress free and their offer to contact them if we had any concerns, of which there were none. We would definitely look to re-book this unit upon our return to the Big island!

We loved this property. The staff was great from the front desk to the Bellman to the housekeepers. They had good Covid practices. It was an attractive hotel with a large open lobby. The rooms were large with balconies and great views over the water. We did not like the steakhouse. The food was OK but the waiter was snobby and not responsive and not friendly. We did go to the restaurant across the park that is upstairs. We went twice because the food was delicious and the wait staff was fabulous.
