BEACHFRONT! AWESOME! 180º UNOBSTRUCTED OCEAN & SUNSET VIEWS! LIGHT, BRIGHT, AIRY, AND SUPER CLEAN CONDO THAT SLEEPS 4! POOL, HOT TUB, TENNIS, PICKLE BALL, PING PONG—2 OUTSIDE SHOWERS & BBQ AREA!
*PLEASE NOTE: The Princess AC is a water-cooled, roof-mounted central system, BUT it is NOT like the Mainland AC you may be accustomed to, meaning it will NEVER get really cold--simply not that kind of design. The great majority of folks are very comfortable when everything is left open letting our "usual" wonderful trade winds, great cross ventilation, ceiling fans, and stand fans keep the condo fresh with tropical breezes! PLEASE NOTE: If you really like super cool inside temperatures, this is NOT the condo for you. PLEASE LET US KNOW YOU ARE OK WITH AC STATUS WHEN YOU BOOK THIS CONDO.
We have another condo in the same BEACHFRONT
building that is available to rent for 30 days or longer. It is offered at a DEEPLY discounted monthly rate, and might be ideal if you’d like to enjoy a longer stay! Ask me about details and your length of stay.
When we say BEACHFRONT, we mean absolute beachfront! The PRINCESS BUILDING sits smack dab on the beach in the photo! It's the most beautiful beach on Oahu.
A secured 16-story building (2 elevators) with pool, hot tub, tennis/pickle ball, outside BBQ area, Rec Room with ping pong table. This condo is on a high floor (not recommended for very young children) with absolutely stunning beach, ocean, and sunset views.
This is a one-bedroom/one-bath (shower stall/no tub) condo. It has a lovely lanai with unparalleled 180º ocean/sunset view. Lanai has sunshade.
Cal King bedroom and queen-size sleep sofa in living room. Fully furnished full-size kitchen with full-size appliances (fridge has icemaker) and all the necessities. We supply all dishes, pots 'n pans, silverware, toaster, regular drip coffeemaker (we furnish filters), microwave, and a blender for making those onolicious Hawaiian fruit smoothies. We also have a dishwasher, 2 TVs, ceiling fans, stand fans, washer/dryer, iron/board, all linens (including beach towels), hair dryer, beach chairs, mats, boogie boards, snorkeling equipment, beach umbrella, and cooler. The spices in the condo vary—some guests buy new and leave-so we never know exactly what is there—best to check first and then buy accordingly. There is a desk & chair. We even provide binoculars for in-condo use--watch right from your lanai as the whales (in season), dolphins, and giant sea turtles put on a show! Sometimes our beloved monk seals will come up on our beach to rest. Please look and appreciate but stay a courteous distance back.
THE PRINCESS IS A SMOKE-FREE COMPLEX! Smoking is NOT ALLOWED in the units, on the lanais, in/at the corridors, elevators, pool, rec room, BBQ area, or in the lobby! THERE IS A STIFF FINE FROM BUILDING MANAGER FOR VIOLATION. Smoking is permitted ONLY in designated smoking area that has an umbrella table and chairs located well away from the building.
NO ANIMALS OF ANY KIND ALLOWED!
Out of respect for our neighbors, some of whom are full-time residents who treasure their peace and quiet, and others are vacationers who want a quiet period of relaxation, we allow no visitors. Only the registered guests may occupy condo.
We require a Rental Agreement with a simple, short basic information form that needs to be filled out, signed, and returned to us before Arrival Info is e-mailed to you. This document will be e-mailed to you immediately after confirmation.
Makaha is on the NON-TOURISTY side of Oahu--very much "OLD" Hawaii--nothing new or fancy here! Our location is out on the beautiful Leeward Coast with its incredible beaches. This is NOT a touristy location, and it is about a 45-minute to an hour's drive, depending entirely on traffic, to Waikiki & Honolulu.
ALL MAJOR ATTRACTIONS ARE A LONG DRIVE FROM CONDOS.
ALL HAWAII BEACHES ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC; however, since there is not much public parking in the area, our beach is generally not crowded. The Princess has NO control over who uses this beach. There are homeless camps along the coast island wide, but not on our beach.
Makaha has lots of fast food and ethnic restaurants (be sure to try BEACHHOUSE 604, a guest favorite where you can eat outside by the ocean--watch for the dolphins). Spicy House in Maili has wonderful Thai food, and it is not too far from condo.
There is fine dining only 20 minutes away at Ko'Olina and Au'Lani Disney Hotel. Kapolei is about 20-25 minutes away, and has MANY great restaurants and really nice shopping. There is a water park in Kapolei. All drive times are subject to time of day and traffic of course.
World-famous Makaha Surfing Beach (home to international surfing competition) is just a very short hop down the coast from the condo.
Beautiful scenery down the coast from the Princess to Kaena Point—road ends there—no passage around that end of our island.

Great stay! Host welcomed us and made check in easy. Place is as described. Could use some updating and the bed linens would benefit from an upgrade. View is amazing. Place was well equipped with all the basics including beach chairs, umbrella, small cooler and beach towels. Would stay again.
We had a great time. The weather was beautiful. The beach was welcoming. The condo although had not a good working A/C we were able to have the windows open and had a nice breeze to keep things cooler. The condo has all the necessary amenities and also snorkel and body boards. We will definitely be looking to book again. Mahalo.
Brilliant view and great price. Access to beach from the apartment block and shower to rinse off before you come back in. Turtles everywhere, great snorkelling. Apartment is very well thought out and compact. No AC wasn't a problem and I really don't like it hot (early Nov). Very fast wifi. Be ready for some extra paperwork, not sure why, it seems unnecessary for a VRBO listing, and it did cause some concern at first, as it was a last minute booking as we were touring - in the end it wasn't an issue though.
This condo was so cute and had such an amazing view. I enjoyed the easy access to the beach, Clean apt, clear communication with Host, there was really no need to use the AC since the trade winds were cooling and refreshing enough. I really enjoyed having a meal on the balcony. Highly recommend this place!
The condo and amenities were exactly as described. The owner often checked on us, making sure everything was running smoothly. Great communication. The beach is amazing along with the sunsets from the lanai. We will be back!
Property was exactly as described. It was clean and ready for us on time. The view from the balcony is spectacular. Very secure. Host was accessible but we didnt need a thing. Everything was right there for us.
Everything about the condo was awesome: clean; stocked with everything we needed; as descrubed online; centrally located to where we wanted to be; felt really safe there; on the 13th floor so the view was so beautiful; lots of towels; washer and dryer; sandy swimming beach.. I loved working with Pat, the owner; she got back to me promptly and was so accomodating. I would definitwly recommend staying at their condo. Mahalo, Pat, for the hospitality.
The condo had everything I needed and more. I felt safe at all times. Stunning views. The island had a tsunami warning during our stay and the host were quick to check on us. We enjoyed a lovely dinner at the beach house just down the road. Beach gear, and books available in condo - really appreciated that! We seen dolphins, stingrays, sea turtles, and surfers from our lanai. Washer and dryer in unit worked great as well as dishwasher. Shower had amazing water pressure. A gazillion TV channels were nice for those lazy days. Touristy attractions are a good drive around the island, however, there's really no need to leave the condo once you get groceries. We did visit the dole plantation, most amazing pineapple ever! We also went to the polynesian culture center for an amazing luau. Kualoa Ranch was amazing. The arena for souvenirs (I went 3x lol)! Waikiki was overcrowded for me but I did enjoy the water. The waikiki only took 30 min to look at but it's only 12 and air conditioned, I did see a cool sea dragon there. Thank you so much for sharing your property with us! Hope to see you in the near future. Mahalo!
This was a five-star experience overall! The unit had stunning sunset views of the Pacific, direct access to a sparsely crowded beach with the water about 50 yards from the property, and an extremely attentive host! We would not hesitate coming back to this facility again. We would also like to address some of the rumors we heard leading up to our stay about the general area, and offer our first-hand experiences and observations. There is a significant homeless presence along the west coast on just about every beach - but it's mainly the public beach parks to the south of the unit that are crowded with tents and other temporary shelters. While there were a handful of folks sheltering on the rocks on the south end of this beach, we never experienced any issues whatsoever or felt uneasy. There was no one actually camped on the beach or causing any issued with the guests at any time that we were aware of.General safety was of no concern. We read about this being an area where you must be vigilant and careful, so we did have some minor reservations leading up to the trip. The parking lot was secured with an electronic gate, there was a security guard on property 24/7, and both the elevators and access gates to the beach were secured with an electronic key. This is not a "touristy" area, so going out definitely mixes you with the residents of the area, some of which aren't fond of tourists. As long as you're contentious of that and respectful, you should have no issues.
Thank you to the owners for making this one of our best ever stays in Hawaii!!!!
We have stayed in this area many times and in numerous rooms at the Princess over the years. We have always had good experiences with the facility, local people and grocery shopping. For anyone unfamiliar with this area, there are homeless encampments although we have not experienced any issues.
The views and sunsets were amazing! It's a very clean condo. We did not need the AC—we were very comfortable with cool sea breezes (trade winds) off the ocean.
The view from the lani and the gorgeous beach below gets 10/10. We appreciated the roll down sunshade in the afternoons. Star gazing was magnificent! We loved the beach access, saltwater pool and hot tub and the friendliness of the staff at the condo. The unit itself is in desperate need of updating. Every one of the appointments are dated, cheap and in need of replacement. This includes all kitchenware and linens. Although linens are provided, towels are thin, have holes and the bedding is polyester which sleeps very hot. The unit needs a good deep cleaning at the very least. People renting here should be well informed that the bedroom side of the condo faces a very busy road with many emergency vehicles and motorbikes going up and down at all hours. Additionally there is a tenement just between the rental and road with dogs that bark incessantly and a crowing rooster. It is not quiet!
Wonderful condo right on the beach. Could not get enough of the incredible view! Beautiful sunsets, several great restaurants/takeout nearby. Woke up to the sound of the ocean each morning and saw sea turtles swimming from our balcony on the 13th floor. Property is gated and safe. We had a wonderful 3 night stay!
The condo was cozy and clean. Amazing view from the balcony. The small beach was very quiet and clear blue water to swim in. Pat was a very attentive host and checked in on me. The check in process is easy and I would recommend staying on this wonderfully quiet west coast of the Island! Mahalo
The view from the 13th floor is amazing and awe inspiring. Our hosts were very helpful and communicative. We will definitely be back.
Lovely condo with a spectacular view. Hosts were very kind and helpful. Fabulous experience.
The condo and the view from the 13th floor was perfect! Beautiful beach right in front of the condo which was easy to access and never crowded. Enjoyed breakfast while watching turtles in the water every morning from the lanai! Condo is located away from the hustle and bustle which is exactly what we were looking for...you'll need to rent a car if you want to venture to the North Shore and Waikiki but it is worth it to stay in a more relaxed and less crowded part of the island.
After a cramped night in busy Waikiki , my teen boys and I loved the privacy, incredible views and relaxed pace the Hawaiian Princess. The building isn’t newer but well maintained, and we were provided everything we needed for the week. Use of binoculars allowed us to see whales breaching, plus we saw sea turtles and a monk seal right from our room! My sons loved being able to sleep on the lanai and go to sleep to the sound of the waves. Great hosts! Would definitely recommend if you prefer a choose your own adventure over a tour group type of holiday. !
Beautiful beach front location. Great communication with the owners. We were greeted upon arrival and provided a tour of the property and condo. Would stay again.
