Had the most amazing stay here. From the location to the house itself. It was exactly as described. Quiet retreat away from the city. Host was communicative and made staying there a breeze. Will definitely come back soon!

This cute cottage felt like the "old Hawaii" I remember from living there decades ago. Exceptionally clean, simple style- yet has all you could need for a wonderful stay! Very private which I appreciate. A perfect combination for relaxing and experiencing the North Shore at its best. The sunsets and beach views were exceptional! Loved the ability to grill and enjoy some home cooked meals.The communication with the host was excellent, check-in easy and he was prompt to respond to questions and/or a need. I plan to return next year!

We had a fabulous stay at this beach front property!! The tide pools were really fun to walk around and see fish, eels, and hermit crabs! There was a nice rock wall separation from the ocean waves and we were able to hangout on floaties in the calm bay between the two. We would highlight recommend this property and are already looking for a time that we can come back!!

It was truly an unforgettable experience. The house was absolutely stunning, just as pictured. It was clean with all modern amenities. Our host was just one text away if we needed anything. The neighborhood was quiet. The beach just down the steps was the perfect backdrop for breakfast, dinner and cocktails. We will absolutely be back!

We just completed 8 nights at this idyllic North Shore cottage. It was everything as advertised and much more. Clean and air conditioned, all modern amenities provided, just steps away from a beautiful Hawaiian beach and a clear view of the sunset every evening. World class snorkeling is minutes away at Shark's Cove & Turtle Bay, world class food trucks are minutes away in the other direction in Kuhuku, and world class surfing is literally out the back door with Velzyland & Bonsai in sight from the deck and Sunset and Waimea beaches a very short drive away! You'll need to try hard to find a better Oahu beach cottage. Marcello was great with communications and made sure we were happy. We're looking forward to our next visit already, maybe come back in the winter for the whales and the Big Surf.

Easy check in after hours of flight delays. Couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spot. Sunrises! Sunsets! Rainbows! All seen from the porch of this lovely vacation home. Equipped with beach toys, goggles, flippers, boogie boards. Saw turtles near shore as well as crabs and fish. Home was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for our two week stay. Definitely paradise.

It was a great location on the North Shore. We loved visiting all the food trucks, Kualoa Ranch, Polynesian Cultural Center, Turtle Bay golf resort, and the Town of Hale’iwa. The view was stunning and being able to lounge in the backyard while we watched the sunset and listened to the waves was perfect. We wish the beach was more usable for swimming, but that’s okay. We saw a seal on two separate occasions hanging out on the rocks on the beach. The house was as described. It’s not fancy and the beds could be more comfortable, but for the money and location, it is a great deal! Check-in and check-out procedure was very simple. We’d stay here again!

beautiful spot, way different feel than the city if that's what you're after. We loved sitting on the beach, the back deck, and being away from the hustle and bustle!

Directly on the beach..Sat and watched sunsets every night. Tide pools and a beach you could take a short walk on and a Lani we ate on most nights. Our favorite North Shore beaches just minutes away. Only suggestions would be a little updating..but for the price point, nothing unexpected. Roosters could be re-homed…lol. but typical for North shore. We lived on Oahu years back…so we know where to stay..and this is the place if you are focused on beachfront and North Shore. Mahalo.

Quaint cottage with the right balance of modern convenience without losing its original 1940’s charm. Situated right on the ocean, I could slip down the stairs in my PJ’s, coffee in hand and dip my toes in the ocean. The grassy lawn was the perfect spot for my teens to tan, while I relaxed in the shade with a book. Ted’s bakery just down the street became a family favorite and Kawela Beach just 1 minute down the road felt like our little secret. I will definitely return here without hesitation.

Had an amazing time at the property - our teens and us loved the location, the outdoor space, the house itself, the beautiful views. It was a fantastic home base to explore the North Shore with its countless beautiful beaches and amazing food trucks. The chicken and cats only added to the experience!

The property was clean, easy to find and having amenities available. The beach was easy to access via stairs down to the ocean with amazing views from the property.

We had a wonderful stay in HI. This was a great location, not far from popular destinations (and a grocery store) but still private and quiet. The entrance can be tricky to spot, so I might recommend more signage. The home was very clean and stocked with essentials to get us through the first day or so. Communication with the property manager was helpful and efficient. It was great having our own access to the beach. Note, the washer/dryer are located outside which was unusual for us. They worked just fine but we had an initial concern as the units were rusted on the outside. However, we understand the space limitations inside and were grateful to be able to do laundry as we were there for a week! Would recommend this location to anyone.

The house could definitely use some TLC. The shower needs a deep cleaning and the windows should honestly be replaced as they have tape holding them together. They should also note there is a window above the shower that is always open so the house is definitely not sound proof. Overall a good stay had easy communication with property management. Loved having the lawn chairs and beach chair option.Great location on the north shore!

We stayed at Kawela Kai beach house for a week from 1-15-25 and were very pleased with the house. It was clean and everything that we had expected. Sarah was great in fulfilling a couple of requests we had and followed up with them promptly. The location was ideal for us being close to the area shrimp trucks and points of interest. If we return to the North Shore we hope this house will be available.

Felt relaxed and right at home in the North Shore Cottage only a few minutes drive from Kahuku in one direction and Pupukea and Sharks Cove in the other. Hale’iwa was only 20min- half hour drive away depending on traffic. Turtle Bay and the hikes, beaches, beach and pool bar, that it offers is right around the corner. Don’t miss out on this hidden gem if u like remote feeling of yourself on a beach go to Kawela Bay (Small waves even in November- good for families) and there was a great remote hike out to the pillbox and to the Kahuku point… all in the Turtle Bay grounds. I can’t forget that sunset beach, banzai pipeline and Ted’s Bakery are also a short drive away. The cottage was well equipped, two beach chairs and snorkel gear and body boards. There were beach towels, outdoor laundry worked very well. Air conditioners were in the place but the fans in every room and the ocean breeze through the windows kept the place cool. Beds were comfy and we slept well. We also had a rooster (Rocky) chickens, two feral cats (Ernie and Bert) that visited daily. Loved the porch for viewing the ocean in the hot sun or rain. The kitchen, flooring and overall upkeep was good, the place was clean on arrival. Landscapers come midweek for the grounds. Lots of food truck and shopping options in Kahuku, including Giovanni’s… don’t miss out on the Paniolo at Seven Brothers. Take advantage of the beer garden when u order your food Seven Brothers will walk it over to u there.

Absolutely loved the house and location on the beach. Only suggestion is lighting at turn in to the property. Difficult to find in the dark. Otherwise, we loved it!

Our family had a wonderful stay at Kawela Kai and cannot recommend it enough. This is one of the few remaining properties you can find to rent for less than a month outside the tourist hot spots of Waikiki and Turtle Bay, and what a find it is! The property is beautiful, just far enough from the road to eliminate noise and right on a small but beautiful stretch of sandy beach. The backyard is nicely landscaped and equipped with lounge chairs to take in the view, while the large back porch has a table to enjoy meals outside. The building itself is old but well maintained, and the interior is nicely appointed and clean. It has what appear to be brand new appliances in the well stocked kitchen, AC throughout, and a good security system. The location can't be beat; right on the North Shore, less than 15min to Waimea and good snorkeling beaches to the west and the Polynesian Cultural Center and gorgeous Windward shore to the east. In short, if the idea of staying in a cookie cutter condo in Waikiki does not appeal, this is the place for you!

Everything about this spot was a dream. It felt like being at home but in paradise. We hope to come back💞 Our fav thing to do was bbq and watch the sunset from the back yard. Amazing food and snorkeling nearby as well as fun shopping a few miles down the way 10/10

It is just over 700 Sq Ft but the porch is nice and big for you to spread out on. Chickens, roosters and feral cats are to be expected. They ask you not to feed them. This was especially hard for us and it eliminated any outdoor eating for us. Don't expect any small things like, pens, paper, chip clips, fly swatter, etc. Beds and ACs were good. With temp while we were there - had to keep the AC on until night. No cross breeze in the house. hard to hear the waves with the AC on. Nice beach to walk on but not an "entry" beach- pretty rocky. Overall a nice house.

They gave us a welcome kit with a roll of toilet paper, paper towel, some hand soap and dish soap. The views were amazing and it was so much fun to wake up and walk down to the beach. On the side of the house there were some beach toys, snorkel stuff and a boogie board, probably from previous renters. Overall it was amazing. Would definitely stay here again.

Reviewer Comments: The most amazing point about this bungalow is the location, we were always up early in the morning to watch the sunrise over the ocean walking along what felt like a private beach. The property is as described, with easy parking and easy to find.It lacks a bit of tender love and care as the Windows are old and don't keep the noise out and the air conditioning is basic and noisy, but that all adds to the charm of this home. We would love to visit again, but it is just far away. A local supermarket is a short drive away, but nothing is within walking distance, which is normal in the USA. Turtle Beach is a 10-minute drive away, it was great to get there before everyone from the south of the island arrived. The North Shore is the place to be. Look out for the Chickens and friendly cats, they come right on your terrace.

Loved our little beach house. Beautiful view, quiet, my kids loved seeing the little baby chicks, hearing the roosters, and the kitties that live on the property. The beach was conveniently right there and never crowded since its only accessed by the homes along it. I wanted our stay to be relaxing and away from all the crowds. I am so happy we stayed here and we will be back. In regard to the house itself. It's a cute little house. The beds were comfortable. Kitchen is well stocked as far as cooking pots and pans and had a toaster, a blender, coffee pot, etc. We had plenty of towels, blankets, and the little AC's in each room worked great. My husband said he had great sleep the entire time we were there. There's also a washer and dryer outside and an outside shower to rinse off after the beach. I do wish the outside shower was enclosed. It was a little awkward trying to rinse sand out of my bathing suit and the other house has windows facing the shower. If you are considering where to stay for your vacation I highly recommend one of the properties this owner has. You will not regret it. We will be back and hopefully next time renting one of the bigger houses because we'll have more family with us next time. I can’t say enough! This place is exactly how it is pictured and just gorgeous. Top notch alarm system. They have sand toys so don’t buy any! Perfect place for lounging, we barely wanted to leave but with Haleiwa town 10 mins away and all of the best snorkel spots right next door, we left a few times. Incredible.

I loved everything about the stay.

This little house is clean, well-appointed, and the location is absolutely stunning. We loved walking in the flat rocks of the Long Beach. It’s not ideal for swimming, but it’s wild and wonderful. We even saw humpbacks breaching in the distance. Each room has an adequate air conditioning unit. We did have a little trouble with accessing Netflix and prime. The Rooster seems to crow on its own schedule, but he and the hen watch over the property, along with the little family of cats. We loved it!

This beach house was such a treat. Being oceanfront with the sand, only a few steps away, whale watching every morning while drinking coffee, and the grass area for playing ball and sunny lounge chairs made it an extra wonderful. Be sure to bring your headlamps for night time tide pool exploring, we saw an eel! Thank you for the wonderful retreat. WE WILL BE BACK!

LOCATION: Amazing! You can't beat the location. True beachfront. It's on a quieter stretch of the main highway, but close to the busy Sunset Beach/Waimea area. Other reviewers mentioned traffic noise, but we weren't bothered. Stunning views, especially at sunrise and sunset. At night we enjoyed listening to the crashing waves. There is a nice stretch of sand for relaxing and beachcombing. As other reviewers noted, the area immediately in front of the stairs is not ideal for swimming due to rocks, but there are several nearby swimming areas. MANAGEMENT: By coincidence, the owners were vacationing on the property for the majority of our stay. They were welcoming and kind. The management company was friendly and quick to respond to any questions. Guest manual was full of helpful information. HOME: Perfect set-up for our family of 4. Clean and organized. Comfortable beds and well-equipped kitchen. HUGE covered deck. Extra towels & linens. Beach chairs, beach towels, and gear provided. Outdoor shower was nice. It was a bonus having a washer & dryer and extra fridge. TIP: As mentioned above, there are three other larger rental homes on the property - great if you're vacationing with multiple families or hosting an event. However, if you are a solo renter and craving a quieter experience, you may want to check if the other houses are booked by one group. On our final night, a large party rented out the other houses and kind of took over the whole property.
