Akala Pua is a lovingly cared for three bedroom home within walking distance to two popular South Shore beaches in Poipu. Lawai Beach is to your left and Baby Beach is to your right, so choose your direction and in 200 plus yards you will enjoy the sun and sand. Distant ocean views can be relished from the upper level great room while preparing the daily meals and sharing the memories created during your stay.
The large 3000 square foot lawn outside is great for sunbathing or letting the kids roam and explore the local landscape. Got a big group? Akala Pua can be rented with Ahe Lani the home sharing this lovely large lawn and located just in front Ahe Lani. We enjoyed the house and location. Communication with the property management was great. The only issue we had were the floors were pretty dirty. 10 minutes after arriving and removing our shoes our socks and feet were dirty. Otherwise it was perfect.
Great house, plenty of space, and great location just minutes from Baby Beach and shopping. We really enjoyed our stay.
We were a party of 5, the house was very comfortable for our party. Beds were very comfortable and house very well maintained. The kitchen was well stocked with anything needed for easy meals. Beach towels, chairs, coolers and boogie boards also available. Very short walk to a small beach and shops/restaurants. Would stay here again!

Stayed here with some of my extended family. The location is amazing- close to Baby Beach, walking distance to the shopping plaza, and a short drive to Poipu. The back yard is gorgeous and we really enjoyed spending time out there. Check in was supposed to be at 4, but we hadn’t heard from management with the key code by 4:05, so I had to reach out to them. They were responsive and apologetic, and then upon arriving, we found the cleaning staff had inadvertently left with the keys from the lock box, so we had to wait for a key until 5 oclock. The home itself is adorable, but is in need of some upgrades. The upholstery on the sofas is musty, slightly mildewed, and tearing from years of sun damage. Same goes for the dining chairs. The furniture is unraveling… all of which is very tempting for little toddler hands to bother, so keep that in mind if traveling with kids. We ended up not using the pack n play on premise because of the stains and smell. They do provide beach towels, but only 1 per person, which meant we were constantly drying the towels as we were at the beach at least 2 times a day. Just a reminder that there is no AC, but they do provide plenty of fans. Just be prepared to sleep with all the doors and windows open to stay cool. Lastly, the kitchen was well stocked with appliances and gear, but the only spices on hand were salt and pepper, so if you are planning on cooking, you may need to stock up.
The location couldn’t be better for our young family. Around the corner from Baby Beach and quick drive to Poi’pu and fresh Poké make it so convenient. Sunsets visible out in the pacific while relaxing on the lanai. Wonderful. Gorgeous high beam ceilings. Would recommend the owners switch from carpeted to tile or laminate flooring in the living room and bedrooms to avoid the mustiness that comes with active beach life and island humidity. Only critique. Rate this 4.5 out of 5!!!!!
