A little further down the beach is a local favorite surf spot, Pounders. We are also minutes to famous attractions such as Polynesian Cultural Center, Kualoa Ranch, Chinaman's Hat, Crouching Lion, Haleiwa Town, Turtle Bay Resort Health Spa and Golf Course, just to name a few. This renovated, large two story, 4 bedroom beach home has a full kitchen and 1.5 baths with two reserved parking. With your one Lazy Boy Recliner Loveseat & one Sofabed (for use if needed with an additional fee), you'll want to stay indoors and watch television equipped with a home theatre sound system. However, the sound of the surf, mingled with the delicious aroma of bbq cooking on the grill will draw you outdoors. The upstairs master bedroom suite has a king sized bed with magnificent ocean views and vaulted ceilings. The full kitchen includes everything you need to prepare a lavish meal. All you'll need is your chef skills and the right ingredients. We are surrounded by mesmerizing sunrises and sunsets with cool, tropical ocean and mountain breezes. We are only a short stroll away from one of the most gorgeous beaches on the island. Private, yet well-known only to those fortunate and familiar with the area, we are situated in a cul-de-sac just steps away from the private entrance to Alligator Pond, as it is fondly called. It is there that you can swim, snorkel, fish, body board, boogie board, sprawl out or snooze to your heart's content. (but don't forget the sunscreen, if that's the case.) You can return home to the convenience of our outdoor shower. We also have a laundry room with a full size coin-op washer for your personal cleaning needs. An outdoor area where the kids can play and the adults love to barbecue. Be lazy and sit around the oversized lanai and front porch. Soak in the tranquil and soothing air as you relax while taking in the beauty of the mountains and coconut trees in view. You can relax and unwind, sipping mai-tais near the beach or take a scenic drive to Haleiwa Town at the North Shore or Windward Mall in Kaneohe. Either way is only a 30 minute drive. Walking distance, across the street, is our grocery shopping store, some eateries and our local post office. No need for a car. You'll find everything you need just minutes away. In addition, the Circle Island bus stops just several feet away to whisk you around the island, if you desire. Of course, down the road, on the way to Haleiwa, or even in the other direction, you'll find more lovely beaches to surrender to. If you're looking for something off the beaten path, tired of the crowded beaches and the hustle and bustle of city life, this is your calling. Keep in mind, Waikiki is only an hour away. This will definitely be a down-home local and truly 'Hawaiian' experience. Best rates available when booking in advance. Keywords: Beach House plus extra units for large families!

As for the beach, Malaekahana Bay is just about everyone's idea of the perfect Hawaiian beach. This Beach is praised by quite a few reviewers, such as Frommers, Home and Abroad, Sunset to name a few. Even in the old Hawaiian day’s, it was known as a place of Sacred Refuge for the Heart, Mind and Soul. It’s crescent shaped bay with a mile of deserted walking beach is perfect for Swimming, Snorkeling, Surfing, Boogie Boarding, Kite Surfing and Beach combing for the Famous Glass Balls. With it’s limited access, it’s secluded almost to the point of deserted, but you may bump into the occasional fisherman whipping for Papio or the venerable throw net master. Get adventurous and take a stroll out to Mokuauia, also known as Goat Island. About 750 yds off the Malaekahana beach, this island holds two of the sweetest little sandy beaches of its own. Excellent Snorkeling. The island is a protected Turtle and seabird sanctuary, but may be visited and there is a trail around the island. Take a stroll around it and when you find your spot on the beach to enjoy the view of Oahu from offshore, lay back in the sand on your own little deserted island. When you get back to your home away from home, there is an outside shower to rinse off the sand for as well as an additional enclosed bathroom with shower accessable only from the exterior. Restaurants, horseback riding, hiking, ocean sports, and many other activities are very close by. We are two miles north of Laie with it’s Foodland Grocery store and other local dining as well as a few franchise establishments. BYU and the Polynesian Cultural Center are within another mile. We are three miles south of the Turtle Bay Resort where there are 36 holes of championship golf and a extensive tennis facility and pro shop. Casual as well as Fine Dining are available here. Another ten minutes away is the famous surfing beaches of Oahu's North Shore including “Sunset”, 'Pipeline' “Rocky Point”. Two miles more will get you to Sharks cove and 'Waimea Bay'. Description Our country beach house is located on the Island of Oahu approximately one hour from Honolulu and the Airport. The house is a six-bedroom, four-bath, two-story home on an acre beach lot with an outdoor Jacuzzi overlooking the ocean and an all sport court (paddle tennis, basketball, and badminton) in a fenced compound. Each floor has a master bedroom overlooking the ocean and there is a full kitchen on each floor so it is designed to accommodate two families. The bathrooms have just completed remodeling (February 2010). There is a massage deck and hammock hidden in a tree-covered area for privacy and it is only yards from the beach. There is also an outdoor dining area that seats 10 under the trees for that perfect BBQ. There are beautiful views of the ocean from the wrap-around decks. It is literally one of the most beautiful protected bays in the Islands. Many of the older families in Honolulu have their private beach homes on this bay. The house is a quiet, upscale property which is popular with local artists, writers, etc. TAT: W40596472-01 Property Highlights Hot tub Beachfront property Plenty of beds and daybed sofas in two living rooms for large groups Outdoor eating area with BBQ Located very close to the Polynesian Cultural Center Sleeping Arrangements Upstairs Bedroom 1- King Bed Bedroom 2- Queen Bed Bedroom 3- Two Twin Beds Downstairs Bedroom 4- Queen Bed Bedroom 5- Queen Bed Bedroom 6- Two Twin Beds Others: Daybed sofas in downstairs living room Location Beach Proximity- Backyard leads to sandy beach Nearest Supermarket- less than 5-minute drive Distance to Airport- 50-60-minute drive Nearby Attractions Goat Island- 15-minute walk off the coast Polynesian Cultural Center- less than 5-minute drive Turtle Bay Resort- 10-minute drive Reviews Moani Kai was a wonderful family friendly place to stay with a beautiful beach front view! The view was incredible, the relaxed atmosphere of that side of the island was so great, Carole was very friendly and accommodating and helped us when we needed additional pack and plays for the grandchildren. We loved the hot tub, the sport court, the beach, the porch, the barbecue grill and table set up for family dinners was awesome and we loved the atmosphere in the evenings when we turned on the lights around the dinner table and the trees nearby that were lit, it was really very relaxing and inviting. Thanks so much for making our stay such a pleasant one! Theresa Robertson; June 2, 2015 "Great home, quiet location, helpful caretaker" This home was great for 6 couples celebrating our father's 80th birthday. The house was clean and well maintained. There was plenty of space for 12 adults to visit together, and cozy nooks for individuals to read and enjoy the property. The weather on this side of the island was very windy while we were there. My brother was able to kite board on the beach outside the back door. However, the last day was still and perfect. Carol, the care taker, was friendly and provided great ideas for beaches, food, hikes, etc. Thanks Carol and Lavish Getaways for making this such a great vacation. We want to come back. Heidi Larsen; April 23, 2015 Best Weekend Ever!!!! The Moani Kai was absolutely beautiful....the house is well equipped inside and out........kitchen has everything you would need...... outdoors had surf boards, chairs, toys for kids, towels....just bring your swimsuit!! There's enough room to accommodate the young active ones and space for relaxing and peacefulness. The property is right on the beach yet private. We will rent again!!! The caretaker was friendly and helpful. Wendy Maher, Sept 7, 2014 Awesome We had the very best time at Moani Kai. Our children and their families spent four wonderful days at this totally enjoyable home. Being residents of O'ahu and most of our family coming in from the mainland we wanted to make sure that their stay was the best ever. Moani Kai did not disappoint. Highly recommended. I'd definitely stay here again. Paul Kapena Kim, Oahu, July 2014 Exceeded our expectations! The only thing wrong with our 5 day stay was it was too short! The house was perfectly located right on the beach which was also beautiful with soft golden sand. We enjoyed lunches and drinks on the lanai with the gorgeous yard sloping to the beach. The house has a wide open feel and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking for 2 or 12. (The caretaker) was sweet and helpful and a pleasure to work with. Lavish Getaways did an excellent job presenting several options of properties for us to pick from. We can't thank everyone enough for helping us have our dream wedding. Jeff and Cindi, Seattle, April 2014 We loved this place! This house was perfect for our group of married children & our grandkids. It was even better than the pictures could show. We had so much space and the kids all commented how we never felt crowded. The yard was so great for the kids to run around in when they were done with the sand. The beach was so beautiful in a bay which had a break so the surf wasn't too scary for the little ones. The sport court was fun, too! The hot tub was working great. A guy even came mid-week to clean it. It was especially nice after a day at the beach! The caretaker was adorable and friendly. She checked in with us to make sure we didn't need anything but was never invasive. We found plenty to do right around the area. Lots of fun food places. Loved Papa Ole's for breakfast. My husband was on grill duty for dinners and commented that a newer and bigger BBQ would be great, but we were grateful for all of the extras provided that we weren't expecting. There are 2 washers & 2 dryers to use which was so helpful for our big group. The unit provided plenty of beach & bath towels, lots of chairs in the yard for hanging out, and even beach toys for the kids. There were boogie boards & surf boards. There was DW soap & even TP...Just a few nice things we didn't have to run out & buy! Our biggest Thank You to the owners & rental agency & the caretaker for helping our family vacation be the best it could be! Everyone loved it so much and we really hope we can come back again!! You gotta come here if you want to get away from the crazy Waikiki and feel how Hawaii is supposed to be. Marsha; Draper, Utah; March 9, 2014 Great Beach house! I think our business club just found the best beach house ever! It was a really nice getaway! The property was gorgeous and more than we could ask for! They had everything from towels to pots and pans to beach towels/mats to even buckets and shovels to go crab hunting! The house even came with dry branches ready for the fire pit sitting outside by the lawn ready for a bonfire and of course s'mores! We literally only needed our change of clothes! We were very surprised they even provided board games of every sort we could imagine and cable TV! The house itself was very clean and tidy and we felt like we were in a hotel but better. It was nice and private and there was easy and close access to the beach. We could enjoy breakfast out on the big backyard and watch the sunrise on the beach! The shower out on the porch made cleaning up after the beach easy breezy! There was a tennis court and basketball hoop as well and the parking area was very spacious. We really enjoyed our stay here and hope to return again next year!! Cherise; Honolulu; December 10, 2013 Awesome! My husband and I took our 3 grown children and spouses plus 10 grandchildren, of which 3 are babies to stay for the week and everyone agreed, it was a wonderful place to stay. We did struggle to find the house in the dark but a phone call to the caretaker helped us to find our way. The Moani Kai was a very nice, clean and comfortable beach house to stay in. Was fully stocked with dishes, pans & utensils most everything you would need for cooking. The beds were comfortable and we found everything to be in working order. The Moani had a huge back yard with tennis and basketball court. We all loved that, plus the best was the beach right out your back door with all types of water toys to help keep the kids busy. How can you beat that along with being able to hear ocean waves at night, it is so awesome! Running on the beach in the morning was also a favorite for us but there is also a trail out front you can run on but nothing was more fun than just watching our children and grandchildren body surfing in the water and playing on the beach, interacting with one another, something we can't always do. Chasing crabs on the beach at night is a hoot!!! So many memories and fun times we now have to cherish. Was perfect for us!The caretaker, who is a very nice lady, was never intrusive but just a phone call away for whatever was needed and we really appreciated that. We all loved the North Shore, no comparison to being stuck in the city, plus plenty of places to keep you busy (gotta see the Breath of Life, at the Polynesian Center) Eeks, just be aware the traffic is really bad when the surf competition is going on and will take an extra hr if you're trying to go toward Haleiwa, to get shaved ice at Motsumoto's, one of our favorite places. One person in our group, who went to gas station by the Kahuku grill, said that shaved ice was just as good as Motsumoto's but for me, it's the nostalgia of the place plus fun stores to shop in the town. Jodi; UT; December 4, 2013 Perfect vacation house House is very clean location in nice little bit far from Waikiki but if you want a quiet vacation this is the perfect place to stay loved this place. Marilou; Las Vegas, Nevada; November 28, 2013 Great stay at Malaekahana! Just a quick note to thank you for letting us enjoy your fantastic home on Oahu. The stay couldn't have been better! Even the three days of rain enabled us to relax, read our novels, and be effective tourists. We played the 9-hole course at Kahuku and the 18-hole Fazio course at Turtle Bay, enjoyed the lavish Sunday brunch overlooking the surf at Turtle Bay, had more than enough Mai Tais, Pina Coladas, Margaritas, Planters Punch, etc., celebrated the Year of the Rooster in Chinatown, were educated and moved at Pearl Harbor and Punchbowl, shopped and spent at Haleiwa dress shops, hiked the trails to Waimea Falls, devoured garlic shrimp from Giovanni's white truck, lingered over breakfasts on the covered deck, were dazzled by the Polynesian Center's VIP package including the luau and show, were calmed by walks along the seashore, were soaked to oblivion in the hot tub gazing at the brilliant stars, were lulled to sleep by the crashing waves, were vicariously terrified while watching the surfers, were delighted by the half-price early bird dinner at Marriott's Sansei, and cherished the final sunset pre-flight nachos grandes and wings at the Hau Tree Lanai Bar---to name just a few of our memorable experiences, thanks to you! It was our first time in Hawaii and certainly will not be our last. Thank you for making this 10-day extravaganza possible! We'd love to share a bottle of Champagne with you one night in New York to thank you for your hospitality. Mahalo and Aloha!" Martha, May 2010 GREAT HOUSE!! "The house was immaculate, and the towels both beach and bath are as fine as any found in a five star resort…your house and grounds around the house are simply wonderful. You have a real gem in a prime location on Oahu. Thank you for opening your home to strangers and allowing others to have the amazing experiences that I understand you and your family have had for many years. The memories you have provided to myself and my family are priceless. My children cannot stop talking about the chickens, geckos, coconuts, hammock, tennis court, and beach fun they had in Hawaii. So why we ever left the house to go see Diamond Head or Pearl Harbor I'll never know. I have already given your web address to eight different friends and family, and I have only been back 4 days!!!! I have told them all to book early because it's the best deal in Oahu! It might be a cliché, but the Moani Kaiolohia at Malaekahana Bay really does feel like a home away from home. The house is well maintained and beautiful, the beach is spectacular and secluded and the north shore really feels like a world away from the hustle of everyday life. If you want a place that is perfect for a large family or a group of friends, you couldn't do much better."
