Rainbow Moving To Oahu in July-Aug
Mahalo Smile

My big move will be in the summer time, im beyond excited but very nervous, I have a lot of Ohana in Oahu and Maui which makes it an easier move. I'll be moving with my son and my two dogs...which is a concern of mine. Is it a big deal moving my dogs? I will be finding a place for rent until im settled then hopefully buy. I'll have plenty in savings when I move and I wont have to worry about finding a job because I work for my self. Id like to stay in the range of 3,000K for a house to rent, could this get me a nice house? Should I find a Realtor to help me in my search? Also is there community collages for my son to attend?

Im sure i'll be on this board alot Smile thank you for your help.

So excited!

RE: Moving To Oahu in July-Aug
Aloha jinjin and welcome to our forum! You can read all about importing dogs to Hawaii on the website of the Hawaii Department of Agriculture. On this website you'll also find the import form:

It will be a little more difficult to find a rental that allows dogs (quite a few landlords don't allow pets). For 3,000K you should be able to find a decent house in a good neighborhood. Do you plan to stay with your ohana initially? Otherwise you'd have to find a rental in advance because of the dogs. Craigslist is a popular site to find a rental. You should be able to find one there, but if you would like assistance, then a realtor might be a good idea. Also, since you're not on Oahu yet and can't go yourself to look at a place, you'll have to take this into consideration.

Yes, there are several community colleges on Oahu. On this page you'll find an overview of universities and community colleges:

Good luck with your move!
