Kauai 2012
We spent a few days on Kauai in February. This is part of what we saw there.

It looks like you were lucky with the weather! The waterfall pictures look lush and beautiful. What beach is this in picture 3? I was at the Kilauea lighthouse in 2010 and there was construction going on. Is it now finished?

RE: Kauai 2012
Picture #3 was from a wide spot in the road Smile on the drive up North . It didn't have a sign. I'll have to look at the map to see if I can identify it.
To be honest, the lighthouse is so popular that the parking lots were completely packed. In that condition, any construction must not have hampered visitors.

I believe that picture 3 was at the Wainiha Bay , Mile Marker 7.
That is the best I can do on that one.
It was on a Saturday and everyone was out in the pretty weather. Parking was at a premium that day.
Here are a few that introduces "us" in them.
The lighthouse and Rich....

RE: Kauai 2012
Last time I drove on Kauai's north shore it was also on a Saturday and it was also very busy. With all these one-lane bridges they almost need to install traffic lights. It felt crowded when I was there and finding a spot to park at most of the beaches was tricky. At Tunnels Beach there was a grassy parking area next to the road and the charge was $10 to park there. The other small beach parking lot was completely packed.

Great shots of you and Jeanne Smile And the Waimea Canyon picture also looks beautiful. I love the many color shades in the canyon.

RE: Kauai 2012
While on the islands there are several (comes to mind on Oahu on the lookout, Maui enroute to Lahina and here....... on Kauai) natural arobrs created by overhanging trees. It feels somewhat like a natural umbrella in protection from the elements.
