Our surf lessons are a full 2 hours, tailored to your pace and skill level with your own dedicated surf instructor. Perfect for focused learning and fast progression.
Whether it’s your first time surfing or you want to sharpen your skills, surf lessons with Keep It Simple Hawaii are designed to be fun, safe, and truly unforgettable. Every lesson is private for just the two of you. Taught by friendly and experienced instructors, you’ll get the personalized attention you need to succeed at catching some waves.
All lessons start on land with safety and technique instruction before heading into the ocean to put your new skills into action for catching your first waves! At all times, you’ll be close to one of our incredible surf instructors.
Note: for safety, children ages 5-9 require a private 1:1 lesson.

This is a fully guided 2-hour private surf lesson designed for fun, safety, and success.
With a personalized 2-to-1 student–instructor ratio, you’ll start with a 20–25 minute land lesson to cover everything you need to know: safety, paddling technique, popping up, and how to ride your first wave.
The rest of the time is spent in the water, where your instructor will help you catch waves with hands-on coaching, wave-pushing, and in-water support.

Meeting & Logistics
We surf at The Guardrails on Honoapiʻilani Highway (Hwy 30) just south of mile marker 19 in West Maui. When you arrive, please park on the mountainside of the road, safely cross the road, and come down to the beach where our surf instructors will meet you.
