Ko'olau Golf Club, Oahu

Architect Dick Nugent designed Ko'olau Golf Club in 1992, carving it out of a tropical rainforest situated on the breathtaking Ko'olau Mountain Range. With its slope rating of 152, this 18-hole, par-72 public championship course is widely considered to be “The World's Most Challenging Golf Course.” It has also been rated in Golf Magazine's “Top 100 Courses to Play” and named the “#1 Golf Course on Oahu” by Golf Digest.

Guests who are not distracted by the stunning location, including its cascading waterfalls, its mountain views, deep ravines and three distinct climate zones, will find that this course offers some of the most unique golfing conditions out there. The course's firm bunkers, multitude of forced carries and soft, tricky fairways and unusual use of Bahia grass make for a slew of challenging adventures for even the most seasoned players.

Managed by the American Golf Corporation, the club also boasts of a 5-acre practice facility, complete with a 7,000 square foot putting green, an elevated chipping green and a grass driving range. The club uses electric golf carts and offers club rentals.

Ko'olau Golf Club's amenities include a clubhouse with the KMR School of Golf, a pro shop and an excellent restaurant called Honey's at Ko'olau. The club hosts everything from weddings to corporate retreats to tournaments and has the facilities to offer live music and a full banquet service.
