Waikiki Parc Hotel, Oahu
If you're looking for something luxurious, but slightly quirky and different, the Waikiki Parc Hotel might just be for you. The upbeat and contemporary design of the lobby area contributes to making the Waikiki Parc one of the hippest places in town.
Meanwhile, the rooms themselves create a more relaxing, but eminently stylish atmosphere. The Waikiki Beach standard of fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean, Honolulu or the Ko'olau Mountains, are complemented by rich ebony woods and bold works of art within the bedrooms. All rooms come with private lanais and have a somewhat small sitting area, flat screen TVs, Internet connections and air-conditioning. A selection of wines is also available within each guest room's own wine bar (charges apply).
Although the hotel doesn't have a bar of its own, something it does offer is the weekly ‘mixers.’ Budding socialites can mingle with other guests over a glass of wine and hors d'eourves on the pool deck every Friday in the company of the hotel manager. The illuminated pool itself is another highlight and design feature.
For those looking to dine on site, the hotel is very proud of its 7,500 square foot Peruvian inspired Japanese restaurant. The dishes are prepared by celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa. Both private seating and a sushi bar are available. Meanwhile breakfast can be taken from Parc A.M, the extravagantly named breakfast buffet service.
Some extra unusual services also lurk behind Waikiki Parc's ultra-slick design. For example the ‘Lotus Experience’ is exactly that. Guests have the chance to rent a Lotus sports car to drive around the island in style. Guests at the Waikiki Parc are also entitled to complimentary entry to some of Honolulu's finest arts and cultural destinations, including the Bishop Museum, the Contemporary Museum and the Honolulu Academy of Arts. Parc Surf lessons are also available as are discounts at two local retailers stocking mainly surf and street-style clothing.
