Pagoda Hotel Photos

Pagoda Hotel, Oahu

The Pagoda Hotel features 359 guest rooms, including one- and two-bedroom units with kitchenettes, split across the Main Tower and the smaller Terrace Tower. Decorated with traditional Hawaiian print patterns, the rooms provide plenty of options whether you're a family of five or a solo traveler. However, having existed in Honolulu since the days of David Copperfield launching his career here in the 1970s, the Pagoda can feel a little dated these days. Rooms could do with a renovation.

Something the Pagoda does seem to have in abundance is the presence of Hawaiian residents. Its rooms being relatively affordable means it's a popular choice for people leaving their home for a night or two during fumigation or building work. Also, the hotel's good value buffet food at the famous floating restaurant attracts local residents and hotel guests alike. The Pagoda Restaurant serves up a blend of Asian, Western and Hawaiian fare. Prime rib and Alaskan snow crab are two regular favorites.

The restaurant is surrounded by what is probably the Pagoda's standout feature. Cascading waterfalls and lush greenery surround a koi pond in which the restaurant ‘floats.’ Combined with a Japanese garden, the aim is to provide an area of peaceful tranquility in an unexpected city location. There is also a nearby (still within the Pagoda Hotel grounds) saltwater pond fed by an artesian spring. This pond is home to a variety of fish including 50 to 80 pound ulua, highly prized by Hawaiians for their fighting ability. Guests can observe or even take part in daily koi feeding sessions at the koi pond.

Two ballrooms are also available for rent. They provide 12,000 square feet of flexible meeting, function or wedding space.
