This is a resort hotel built with golf enthusiasts in mind. The Makaha Resort course is one of the many across the United States to have been designed by William F. Bell. A course that has won awards from both Honolulu Magazine and Golf Digest, it is a par 72 and at 7,040 yards, has plenty of room for golfers to try out a variety of shots with the majority of clubs they may carry. Golfing facilities available also include lessons, club rentals, a pro golf shop, scenic snack bar restaurant and a driving range.

The resort features 152 rooms and 20 suites across 18 low rise Polynesian style buildings. All offer private lanais and the larger suites include kitchenettes. The rooms are large enough (though by no means huge) and include a seating area and coffee machine as well as air-conditioning as standard. The resort also offers tennis courts and an outdoor swimming pool. Other sports courts are also available for a variety of activities such as volleyball, and there is a spa as well.

The on-site restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves up regional Hawaiian dishes. It also offers pleasing views of the ocean and golf course, from inside or from the lanai. Next door is the Pumana Lounge, where guests can enjoy evening entertainment to accompany a selection of wines, beers, spirits and cocktails.

The Makaha Resort offers meeting space to guests wishing to stage a function or meeting. The largest room can accommodate up to 200 people in a banquet style, while the four other rooms can each accommodate up to 70 guests. Alternatively the luau grounds can accommodate larger parties outdoors.
