Tucked away on the western side of Oahu, on one of four white sand dunes, the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa at Ko Olina claims to be the most luxurious and complete resort on the island. All of its amply sized 351 rooms and 36 suites, spread over 13 floors certainly have an air of luxury. Modern furnishings and private lanais help to make visitors feel welcome, and there are even some allergen-free rooms. Large flat screen TVs are also included, however, many will never feel the need to turn them on what with the fabulous views on offer from many of the rooms, out over the beach, the Pacific Ocean and beyond.
The dining options at the JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa are diverse. Award winning ĎAzulí serves up a great selection of international flavors using the freshest ingredients available. This signature restaurant also has one of Hawaii's most extensive wine lists. Alternatively there is the informal, all-day Naupaka Terrace restaurant and the Japanese Ushio-Tei restaurant which sits adjacent to a Japanese garden. For lighter options there is also a pool-side snack bar serving up salads and sandwiches. Staying outside of the restaurants, Thursday evening sees the Fia Fia dinner show take place on the lagoon lawn with Chief Sielu Avea. Finally, located on the lobby level adjacent to Reflections Boutique and Gallery is Hokule'a Bar, open nightly for sunset cocktails and creative cuisine.
For those interested in keeping busy during their stay, the Marriot offers several activities. For example, the Marine Life Program gives visitors the chance to take part in a reef shark feeding, a Hawaiian fish feed or a Seafari hunt! The hotel also runs a kids program, shopping shuttle buses, and has six tennis courts. Not to mention the pool and nearby 18-hole golf course. The Ihilani Spa is located on the premises as well.
The resort also has meeting or function spaces. In total there are 14 meeting rooms encompassing 31,000 square feet. The largest single space is the outdoor Hokulani Lawn, which can seat up to 3,000 guests. Taking things indoors, the Hokulani Ballroom, with its 15,000 square feet of flexible space provides room for up to 2,000 guests and is surrounded on three sides by tropical gardens and sweeping vistas.
