The career of this living legend started in 1962 when Don Ho began
entertaining guests at Duke’s in Waikiki. It did not take long and
his career took off. Don had a gift to captivate audiences and to
make them a part of the performance.
His songs, even though they are not traditional Hawaiian, symbolize
for many the spirit of Waikiki and conjure up visions of tropical
sunsets, grass skirts and coconut bras, Diamond Head in the
moonlight and a Mai Tai in hand. Ho was known as the Hawaiian Elvis.
He passed away on April, 14, 2007.
Don Ho had also been very active in his private life and is the
father of ten children. His youngest daughter, Hoku, is on her own
way to stardom as a singer.
