In the 1970s, Cecilio & Kapono were Hawaii’s favorite
entertainers. Today they are a good example that fame does not
easily evaporate and that one can live quite a long time on a number
of smashing hit songs. Their songs are of the timeless kind, still
spreading good vibrations and favorite sing-along moments in the car
or in the bathtub.
C&K recorded several bestselling albums and with their third album,
they won 5 of the famous Na Hoku Hanohano Awards at the same time.
Some of their hit songs are “Lifetime Party,” “Friends,” “Good time
together,” ‘You and Me” and “Good Night and Good Morning.”
They are still playing together and you can see at least one of
them, Henry Kapono, performing live every week at his own restaurant
Kapono’s at the Aloha Tower Marketplace in Honolulu. It’s a great
place for good music with the air of celebrity all around and as a
frosting on the cake, there are good food, good drinks and a great
view of Honolulu harbor.
