Charley Young Beach at a Glance
Located on Maui’s southeastern shore in the center of
Kihei, Charley Young Beach is a great spot for family
picnics. The three-acre park is big enough for all kinds
of ball games. It’s also sheltered from the wind so you
can have a picnic without having everything blown away.
The ocean bottom drops off gently, which is ideal for children
and novice swimmers. However, even though the beach is safe
on most days of the year, high surf and strong rip currents
may occur, especially in the winter months (November to
March).
There are no lifeguards on Charley Young Beach, but showers
and portable toilets are available.
