Charley Young Beach Photos

Charley Young Beach, Maui

Located on Maui’s southeastern shore in the center of Kihei, Charley Young Beach is a great spot for family picnics. The three-acre park is big enough for all kinds of ball games. It’s also sheltered from the wind so you can have a picnic without having everything blown away.

The ocean bottom drops off gently, which is ideal for children and novice swimmers. However, even though the beach is safe on most days of the year, high surf and strong rip currents may occur, especially in the winter months (November to March).

There are no lifeguards on Charley Young Beach, but showers and portable toilets are available.

This is our family's favorite beach! We rent a condo at the Maui Vista across the street (1116) and every morning when the water is as smooth as ice we swim the entire length of the beach. Then in the evening there is a pilgrimage of people from the surrounding area that head to Charley Young for the most impressive sunsets ever! Great beach!!!
