Princeville Resort at a Glance
The 9000-acre Princeville Resort sits in one of the most
majestic spots in the world - at a verdant cliff
overlooking Hanalei Bay. Behind it, the rugged
Namolokama Mountain provides a lush green backdrop. The
surrounding sea cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and lush
tropical forests add to the surreal effect evoked by the
place.
Adorned by green marbles and chandeliers reminiscent of
19th century palaces, the resort’s interior is just as
breathtaking. The award-winning cliffside luxury resort
has 252 palatial rooms, each with a garden, ocean, or
mountain view. Each room has Juliet balcony, oversized
bathtub, and an oversized window, allowing guests to
enjoy spectacular sunsets from their room. Every room is
treated to a two-towel change each day, free newspaper,
complimentary shuttle service, and other indulgences.
Entrance to Hanalei Bay Beach is on the 9th floor. To
get to the beach or the cliffside guestrooms, just take
the elevator.
Play golf at any of the two adjacent world-class golf
clubs; both are designed by Robert Trent Jones. Or relax
and rejuvenate at the spa in the Golf Club House. The
spa has a grand 115-foot lap pool, whirlpools, steam
baths, and massage and beauty treatments. Princeville
Resort also has, among others, Jacuzzis, more than two
dozen tennis courts, equipment rentals, in-house cinema,
and currency exchange services.
Princeville Resort has a total of three plantation-style
guestroom buildings and they span the road to Pu’u Poa
Ridge, along the plateau running from Princeville to
Hanalei Bay. It also offers properties for real
investment at its master-planned community.
On a historical note, Princeville was named in the honor
of Prince Albert, son of King Kamehameha and Queen Emma
in 1860. The area was once the home of Sugar
Plantations. In 1895, Albert S. Wilcox bought the
plantation and converted it into a ranch. Horseback
riding is still available in the area.
