Today a high surf warning is in effect for all south and west facing shores of all Hawaiian islands. They are calling today's high surf the "biggest in decade." These pictures were taken an hour ago at Magic Island on Oahu's south shore. Wave heights are around 10-15 feet (3-4.5 m). Enjoy!

Hi Rich, no it is because of a storm near New Zealand. It was really great to look at these waves.

They sure saved up a lot of muscle until they got to Oahu. It wouldn't be a great time to be paddling an outrigger from New Zeland would it ? lol

Yes, true. It's amazing how far waves can travel. Now these same waves are pounding the shores of California.
