They are saying that the lava lake within this crater dropped 370 feet within hours over the weekend because a crack formed on the side of the crater to allow the lava to flow out and create the lava fountains as seen on TV. I started a thread similar to this one that includes videos of these beautiful eruptions and lava fountains.
In January of 1997,this same thing happen before but this one is hugely different in the fact that this still hasn't stopped yet. This one has already surpassed the amount of lava material than this same event in 1997. I wish I was over there taking pictures right now, how cool would that be,lol?
