Makapuu Beach Park is located right across Sea Life Park Hawaii on the east shore of Oahu. The beach is a pretty place and it offers nice views and picture-taking opportunities. However, it is not a good beach for picnics because the beach is narrow and doesn’t have much shade. Swimming is also not recommended if you are not an experienced swimmer. Waves are usually high and dangerous.

There is a bathroom and showers on the beach. When I visited yesterday, I noticed that the bathroom was very dirty. The toilet paper was on the ground and someone had decided to use the bathroom’s floor for their needs. If you are looking for a good swimming and picnicking beach in the area, go to Waimanalo Beach, which is just a few miles north of Makapuu Beach.
