Voted as one of the ten best beaches in Hawaii, the beautiful beach is 125-feet wide and two miles long. On its east boundary is the Hanalei River, and to the west lies the Waipa River. Behind the beach are waterfalls cascading down while green mountain tops shimmer against the mist and reach up to the azure sky. Hanalei is the largest bay in Kauai and is shaped like an almost perfect half-moon.
The beach boasts of white sands and prime surfing spots. In fact, world champion surfers often visit Hanalei. If you’re a fan, better watch out for that! There are grass and shaded areas where you can enjoy some picnic activities. At Hanalei, you can try almost everything! From surfing to boogie boarding to windsurfing to boating and to swimming. You can also kayak your way up to the Hanalei River.
