Anahola Beach Park, Kauai

Anahola speaks of Hawaii’s local flavor more than any other county. Being a small village, Anahola could often be seen by tourists even as they simply drive by the highway. Located 110 miles northwest of Honolulu, Anahola is a part of the so-called “Coconut Coast.” It is home to about 2,000 residents only: with households being a mixture of local cultures and foreign settlers.

The Anahola Beach Park provides a retreat to the sand and the sea and an escape from the fast-paced life in the city. It is a favorite among tourists who prefer a seemingly untouched environment: where the surroundings look fresh and rugged, where they feel most at one with nature. There are neither outdoor bars nor souvenir peddlers in Anahola. Showers and restroom facilities, however, are available on the park

Protected by an offshore reef, the sandy beach of Anahola in northeastern Kauai is perfect for family outings almost all year long. Shade trees are abundant in Anahola Beach. The crystal blue water is inviting—enjoy diving, snorkeling, and swimming on this dainty, pretty beach. Stroll along the pristine white and sparkling gold sands of the beach as you watch people of all ages enjoying a fun day in the sun:  scuba divers exploring the waters, families gathered around picnic tables while eating and laughing, lovers enjoying a romantic view of the sky and the sea, and many more!

Be mindful of strong currents and wave breaks, though. And, be careful not to slip on rocks and hurt yourself with sharp corals. Exercise caution while swimming is a must. There are also lifeguards on duty during holidays and weekends.
