Hawaiian Eyes Maui Tours

hawaiianeyes.jpgHawaiian Eyes offers one of the most diverse and most intimate Maui activities on the island. Owned and run by an experienced tour guide, it specializes in personal and custom tours around any site on Maui. It also offers pre-planned land tours featuring the most visited spots on the island, complete with a historic narration and your choice of food and refreshments.

If you’re staying on eastern Maui, the Hana Hou tour may be the Maui activity for you. This tour takes you through the famous highway leading to Hana Town, with the guide telling you about the la’au lapa’au (native medicinal plants) and Hawaii’s natural heritage. You’ll also pass through virgin rainforsests, cascading waterfalls, bamboo fields, and a wide variety of trees and flowers. There’s a stop at the Ke’anae Peninsula coastline, Wai’anapanapa State Park, and the Hana town and harbor. This tour costs $135 per person.

The West Maui-Kahakuloa Tour caters to those on the west side of the island. First you’ll tour the historic town of Lahaina, passing the shores of Kahana and Ka’anapali along the way. There’s a great photo opportunity at Honolua Bay, and an optional walk to the famous natural “blow hole” just five minutes away. A van tour takes a scenic route through the mountain rainforests and goes on to Kahakuloa, where you can rest and shop for a bit. This is the cheapest tour at $80 per person.

For those who don’t have much time to kill, there’s also a 45-minute trip to the Iao Valley La’au Lapa’au and Tropical Plantation. Here you’ll get to walk along the paved Iao Valley, a rich, blossoming state park, and explore local flora at the Heritage Gardens. You’ll then go on to Wailuku and the tropical plantation before riding back to your hotel.  This tour costs $80 per person.
