Jana and I decided to take a break. She wanted to go to Hawaii and I wanted to go somewhere else. It was her birthday coming up, though, and I decided that a Maui vacation wouldn’t be so bad, so that’s where we went. Jana researched all the Maui hotels that she liked, but in the end it was our budget — or lack of– that made the decision for us. Not that the Napili Kai Beach Resort was a bargain Maui hotel, but we like the idea of doing condo this time. We could save on some meals, we thought.

We ended up booking the studio, which had a small kitchen and a private lanai, which we used every day and night. It was a garden view, which was okay, since we were out most of the time anyway. That was the plan. It worked. We were out most of the time, and it did save some money.

The thing that sold us on Napili Kai Beach Resort was the web cam, which we looked at quite a bit before making a reservation. It had a great focus on the beach, and it was cool watching the activity.

The rooms were nicely furnished, and the bed was comfortable. Jana thought it was a bit firm, but I didn’t. It felt good on my back.

I played golf twice. Once Jana came with, but not the second time. I played the second game with a guy named Ted, who was there with his girlfriend. It was their fourth Maui vacation, and their first at a condo hotel instead of a Maui hotel resort.
